AVANT-PROPOS Par son programme de coopération technique, une des tâches prioritaires de notre Fédération, la FILA rejoint les objectifs de la Solidarité Olympique-CIO laquelle, grâce aux efforts de SE J. A. Samaranch, Président du CIO, et de M. A. Lopez, Directeur de la Solidarité Olympique, ne cesse d'acquérir une dimension de solidarité universelle. Attachée qu'elle est à l'idée de la solidarité humaine la FILA continue à développer et à promouvoir son programme de coopération technique. Le Manuel que nous vous présentons constitue un précieux exemple de contribution que peuvent apporter les fédérations nationales développées dans le cadre de la coopération technique. Ce Manuel est l'oeuvre du Docteur Horst Rothert et de M. Willi Tepper, deux spécialistes de République Démocratique Allemande. Ce n 'est pas par hazard que je me suis adressé aux responsables du sport de la RDA au moment où nous avons décidé de la nécessité de publier un manuel des techniques de lutte à l'intention des plus jeunes. En effet, la RDA fait partie de ces pays qui ont développé la recherche scientifique dans ce domaine et qui ont compris que les grands résultats sportifs impliquaient la pratique du sport dès l'enfance. D'ailleurs, les succès qu enregistrent les athlètes de ce pays sont bien éloquents. J'exprime ma profonde gratitude à M. Manfred Ewald, Président de la DTSB, et à M. FOREWORD The Technical Cooperation Programme is one of the FILA 's priority tasks and its contribution to the Olympic Solidarity I. C. O. This book should, therefore, be also considered as part of the Olympic Solidarity. The FILA highly appreciates the lofty idea of the Olympic Solidarity strongly supported and promoted by Mr. J. A. Samaranch, President of the I. O. C. and Mr. A. Lopez, Director of the Olympic Solidarity, who should be particularly commended for their efforts in this field. Outstanding authors of technical books on wrestling, members of developed national wrestling federations have greatly contributed to the FILA's Technical Cooperation Programme. This book is another valuable contribution by experts from the German Democratic Republic, Dr. Horst Rothert and Mr. Willi Tepper. When we decised to publish a book on wrestling for children and youth I had a very good reason to request assistance from the GDR because it is one of the countries which has scientifically researched all the aspects of an early orientation for wrestling. VORWORT Das Technische Hilfsprogramm ist eine der vordringlichen Aufgaben der FILA, weil es die Olympische Solidarität unterstützt. Deshalb sollte das Buch auch als Bestandteil der Olympischen Solidarität betrachtet werden. Die FILA schätzt die Idee der Olympischen Solidarität, die von Herrn J. A. Samaranch, Präsident des IOC und Herrn A. Lopez, Direktor der Olympischen Solidarität, intensiv gefördert und unterstützt wird, hoch ein. Die FILA vertritt die Auffassung, daß das Programm der Olympischen Solidarität gefördert werden muß. Ausgewählte Autoren von Technikbüchern über den Ringkampf, Mitglieder entwickelter nationaler Ringerverbände haben in großartiger Art und Weise das Technische Hilfsprogramm der FILA unterstützt. Dieses Buch ist ein weiterer wertvoller Beitrag von Experten aus der DDR, Dr. Horst Rothert und Willi Tepper. Par le
Pr^sent Manuel la Fédération de lutte de la République Démocratique Allemande répond aux recommandations de la FILA relatives à la promotion de la lutte pour enfants. Pour contribuer à la mise en oeuvre de cette idée les auteurs du Manuel, le docteur Horst Rothert et M. Willi Tepper, ont mis sur pied un système méthodologique d'entraînement en prises fondamentales. Leur travail comprend un Calendrier de travail avec les séquences méthodologiques prévues pour tous les mois de l'année. Certaines techniques de base, qui comprennent des exercices complémentaires, sont présentées en forme de modèles méthodologiques. La priorité est accordée aux exercices ayant pour objectif l'apprentissage, l'amélioration et la correction des prises fondamentales de lutte. Les prises de base proposées furent choisies dans l'arsenal des prises pratiquées qui sont reconnues par les Règles de lutte de la FILA. Les auteurs vous souhaitent bien des succès tant dans l'apprentissage des techniques que lors des compétitions !
FOREWORD
The Wrestling Federation of the German Democratic Republic fully supports the FILA 's recommendation that wrestling for children should be encouraged. In order to give their contribution to the implementation of this idea Dr. Horst and Willi Tepper have developed a methodological system of training in basic wrestling technique. They offer a Calender of work in methodological sequences for each month of the year. The Model suggests exercises for the development of wrestling technique and additional exercises for the maintenance of the attained technical level. Priority has been given to the exercises for the improvement of the level of preparation and technical skills. Basic wrestling holds have been selected out of the holds provided for by the FILA 's Rules of Wrestling. At the end the message from the authors: Best wishes for pleasant work and success at competitions!

Der Deutsche Ringerverband der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik übergibt der FILA ein Anleitungsmaterial zur Unterstützung des Kinderringens. Die Autoren Dr. Horst Rothert und Willi Tepper entwickelten ein methodisches System zum Erlernen von Grundtechniken. Vorschläge zur methodischen Reihe, dem Erlernen in den einzelnen Monaten unterbreiten wir in einem Kalender. Die einzelnen Grundtechniken wurden als methodisches Modell dargestellt, in dem zusätzliche Übungen enthalten sind, die das Erlernen und Festigen unterstützen. Vorangestellt haben wir Übungen zum Erwerben und Verbessern wesentlicher Voraussetzungen für den Ringkampfsport. Aus der Vielzahl, der in Übereinstimmung mit dem Reglement unserer Sportart möglichen technischen Handlungen, wurden Grundtechniken unabhängig von der Ringkampfart ausgewählt. Viel Erfolg beim Lernen und Anwenden im Wettkampf!

Remarque Vu le caractère hétérogène de la terminologie en lutte, nous avons préféré, pour éviter les malentendus, garder la terminologie des prises en langue allemande, telle qu'elle est proposée par les auteurs de ce Manuel. D'autre part, comme les images (9-38) sont bien claires et faciles à comprendre, nous sommes convaincus que les fédérations nationales pourront sans difficultés remplacer la terminologie allemande par celle qui est en usage dans leurs pays respectifs.

Remark Since we have not yet adopted a uniform wrestling terminology for complex holds provided in the book we decided not to translate them in order to avoid possible confusion. This means that you will find all the names in German, the language of the authors. On the other hand, the pictures (9-38) are so clear and self-explanatory that each national federation, we hope, will find it very easy to write down the names of the given holds currently used by their coaches and wrestlers.

All technical exercises are repeated all the time. Technical exercises 20-26 are not compulsory. The ANNUAL PLAN should be established in view of the physical fitness of the athletes involved. Each ANNUAL PLAN should be a follow up of the previous one.
