DWG 40xx Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting for synchronous generator type 40xx NOTE: At first, before checking the machine it is required to disconnect all electronic parts from the terminal box of the generator (also the EMC filter)! Ensure that the voltage regulator (mounted in the top of the terminal box) is disconnected. Check of the exciter winding: In a cold state of the machine (approx 25°C), 25°C), the exciter resistance is measurable between the red and the grey wire going to the 6pin connector to the voltage regulator. These values should be measured between 24 up to 27 Ohms. The insulation resistance between the case potential (measured with 500VDC) should be more than 100 kOhms. Check of the winding resistance of the main stator: The following resistance values can be read out at the datasheet table listed at page 2. The listed values should be checked: • • • • •
between the phases L1-L2-L3 (U-V-W) the resistance U–V. between the phases phases and the neutral wire L1-N, L2-N, L3-N the resistance resistance U-N between the voltage regulator supply wires (violet) the resistance ZU-ZV between the voltage voltage regulator regulator supply (violet) and and the neutral wire wire (blue) the resistance ZU-N recommended to the VDE 0105-100 should the insulation resistance in a potential potential free system system more than 150 Ohm/Volt. The insulation resistance can be measured between every phase and the case of the generator (green/yellow wire).
The measured values of the main stator winding could be differing from the rated values. It depends also on the accuracy of the measuring equipment. The important fact is, that the measured values, witch are belonging together should be always the same value. If the values are differing highly from the rated values of the data sheet table, the machine should be checked at GTS service. terminal box L1 - brown
