BAB 1 PENDAHULUAN 1.1 Latar Belakang
Bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa Internasional. Dengan menguasai bahasa Inggris dengan baik, maka kita akan dapat berkomunikasi dengan bangsa bangsa lain di dunia ini. Di samping itu, kita pun akan dapat menambah wawasan dan ilmu pengetahuan kita demi kemajuan bangsa dan negara kita, karena

membaca
literatur-literatur
bahasa
Inggris,
mendengarkan siaran-siaran radio luar negeri, serta menonton film-film ilmu pengetahuan yang lainnya. Dengan demikian, pada akhirnya kita dapat menguasai pengetahuan-pengetahuan di segala bidang. Selain untuk menambah pemahaman tentang bahasa Internasional, dengan mempelajari bahasa inggris ini sedikitnya akan mempermudah kita untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan yang layak, ataupun untuk bekal ilmu kita dikemudian hari. Dengan memahami dan menguasai bahasa Internasional dengan baik dan benar tentunya memberikan manfaat yang sangat baik untuk kita semua. Untuk itu, perlu dipahami terlebih dahulu ketatabahasaan yang ada di dalam bahasa Inggris. Selain untuk memperlancar cara pengucapan, kita juga akan paham bagaimana cara menyusun kata yang akan diucapkan sehingga menjadi satu kalimat yang padu dan benar menurut tenses nya. 1.2 Rumusan Masalah

Dari rumusan masalah di atas, maka saya tentunya bertujuan untuk menjelaskan atau memaparkan point-point tersebut, sesuai dengan pengetahuan yang saya peroleh, baik dari buku sumber maupun dari guru-guru. Semoga semuanya memberikan manfaat bagi kita. Bila ada kesalahan tulisan atau kata-kata di dalam makalah ini, saya mohon maaf yang sebesar-besarnya.

BAB II PEMBAHASAN
2.1 RECOUNT TEXT 2.1.1 Pengertian Recount Text
Secara harfiah, recount bermakna "menceritakan". Jadi recount text bisa diartikan sebagai "Text yang menceritakan". Jika mengacu pada keterangan di buku-buku sekolah (baca : Buku Bahasa Inggris SMP / SMA) recount text adalah a text that telling the reader about one story, action or activity. Its goal is to entertaining or informing the reader. (sebuah teks yang menceritakan sebuah cerita, aksi ataupun aktifitas. Tujuan recount text adalah untuk menghibur atau menginformasikan pembaca.) Generic Structure dari Recount Text
Generic structure (susunan umum) recount text ini terdiri dari:
Orientation tells who was involved, what happened, where the events took
place, and when it happened. ("Orientation" menceritakan siapa saja yang terlibat dalam cerita, apa yang terjadi, di mana tempat peristiwa terjadi, dan kapan terjadi peristiwanya)
Events tell what happened and in what sequence. ("Event" menceritakan
apa yang terjadi (lagi) dan menceritakan urutan ceritanya)
Reorientation
consists
of
optional-closure
of
events/ending .
("Reorientation" berisi penutup cerita / akhir cerita)
2.1.2 Macam-macam Recount Text : a. Personal Recount
Yaitu menceritakan tentang pengalaman pribadi penulis b. Factual Recount
Yaitu laporan peristiwa yang benar-benar terjadi, seperti laporan percobaan ilmu pengetahuan, laporan kepolisian. c. Imaginative
Yaitu membuat cerita imaginative lalu menuliskan peristiwa atau kejadian yang telah terjadi.

Struktur Recount Text adalah sebagai berikut : a. Orientation
Yaitu pengenalan berupa memberikan informasi tentang siapa, dimana dan kapan peristiwa atau kejadian itu terjadi di masa lampau. b. Events
Yaitu merupakan rekaman peristiwa yang terjadi, biasanya disampaikan dalam urutan kronologis, seperti : "In the first day... . And in the next day... . And in the last day... ." Pada bagian ini terdapat juga komentar pribadi tentang
peristiwa atau kejadian yang diceritakan. c. Reorientation
Yaitu pengulangan pengenalan yang ada di orientation, pengulangan tentang rangkuman peristiwa atau kejadian yang diceritakan. Ciri Kebahasaan Recount Text
Pada saat membaca Recount Text, akan ditemukan ciri-ciri kebahasaan sebagai berikut : a. Menggunakan kalimat dalam bentuk Past Tense. Contoh : We went to Bandung last year, I was very happy. b. Menggunakan Action Verbs. Contoh : went, bought, wrote, slept, dll. c. Menggunakan Adverbs and Adverbial Phrase untuk mengungkapkan waktu, tempat dan cara. Contoh : yesterday, at school, quickly, dll. d. Menggunakan Conjunction dan Time Connectives untuk mengurutkan peristiwa atau kejadian. Contoh : but, and, after that, dll. 2.1.3 Contoh Recount Text Contoh 1 My Adolescence
I had my adolescence when I was thirteen. It started with acne that showed up on my face. It was very annoying. It lowered my self-esteem and I was embarrassed to come out of my house and play with friends.

Fortunately, my Mum gave me a good medicine. In three weeks, the acnes started to vanish although those showed some black spots in my face.
That was my bad experience with adolescence, though there were still lots of good experience too.

Orientation : Paragraf pertama, (I had my adolescence when I was thirteen) Events : Paragraf kedua dan ketiga. Reorientation : Paragraf keempat (terakhir) Contoh 2 My First Experience to Ride Motorcycle
One day, when I was ten years old, my father bought an old motorcycle. That was " Honda 75". I think it was small light object and easy to ride it. I persuaded my father to teach me to ride " Honda 75 ". Firstly, my father refused my request and promised that he would teach me two or three years later, but I still whimpered. Finally, my father surrendered and promised to teach me. He began to teach me riding the motorcycle around a field in my village. My father was very patient to give me some directions. I was very happy when I realized my ability to ride a motorcycle. " Yes, I can ".
One day later, when I was alone at home, I intended to try my riding ability. So, myself tried bravely. All ran fluently in the beginning, but when I was going back to my home and I must passed through a narrow slippery street, I got nervous. I lost my control and I fell to the ditch.
After that, I told my father about the last accident. I imagined my father would be angry and never let me ride again. But the realit y is exactly on the contrary, my father was very proud of me. He just gave me some advices and since that accident, I got my father's permission to ride motorcycle.

Contoh 3 A Page from A Girl's Diary
Tuesday, September 30th, 2008
It was takbiran night. It was also my birthday, and nothing happened. Or I had thought nothing would happen, but I was wrong.
That night, I was watching television with my family when I heard someone lit fireworks in my front yard. I peeped trough my window glass but could see nothing. It was very dark outside. Then I thought it had to be my cousins who lit the fireworks. Then I plopped down on my sofa again and tried to concentrate on the television since my mind raced with disappointment that no one gave something special on my birthday. I shrugged, it was almost the end of the day and I became pessimist. Five minutes later my mobile beeped. It was a text from my friend asking me to come out. Wondering what was going on, I grabbed my jacket and hurried to the front door. I was surprised to see her bring a bag full of firework and fire drills. Next I was surprised to see my other friend come out from the darkness. She brought a beautiful birthday cake on her hands. Oh my God! I shrieked. Then they gave the cake to me who was too stunned to say anything. I realized I was blushing furiously because my whole family was watching. Not to mention my neighbors too!
A plain day, or I thought it was before, turned out to be one of the greatest moment in my life. I didn’t even know how to describe what I felt. Happy was the simplest word.
2.2 SIMPLE PAST TENSE
Simple past tense is a verb form used to express activities or events that do occur in the future or the past. The past can be a long time ago, a few years ago, a few months ago, a couple of weeks, days, or a few hours a go.

As has been mentioned above that in the simple past tense, change the verb used is the change in the second form of the verb (verb2). In general, changes in the form of the verb is always followed by the suffix "ed", changes in general is called a regular verb. However, in practice, not all changes in both the verb followed by the suffix "ed", this is called the irregular verb. So you have to be really careful to distinguish which verbs classified as regular verbs (irregular verbs) and where the verb classified as irregular verbs (irregular verbs).

Rumus Simple Past Tense
Rumus yang digunakan untuk simple past tense baik untuk kalimat positif, negatif, interogatif, dan juga negatif interogatif adalah sebagai berikut : Kalimat positif (+) : S + was/were S + Verb2 Contoh :
They were in the class. (mereka berada dikelas.)
They went to Bali last week. (mereka pergi ke Bali Minggu lalu.)
Kalimat negatif (-) : S + was/were + not S + did + not + verb1 {bare infinitive} Contoh :
They were not in the class. atau They weren’t in the class. (Mereka tidak berada dikelas.)
They did not go to Bali last week. atau They didn’t go to Bali last week. (mereka tidak pergi ke Bali minggu lalu.)

2.3 SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE
In English Present Tense or Simple Present Tense is used to declare the event or events, activities, activity and so is the case today. Present tense is also used to express a fact, or something that happens repeatedly future NOW. Remember, PRESENT means it is now, now. Rumusnya: Positif: S + V1 (s/es) Negatif: S + DO/DOES + NOT + V1 Tanya: DO/DOES + S + V1 Contoh Kalimat Positif: I drink coffee She drinks coffe We drink coffee
Cara Membaca Rumus: S artinya Subject, V1 artinya Verb1 atau kata kerja bentuk pertama. Garis miring artinya ya Atau dong!.

Kalimat Negatif Present Tense
Bentuk Negatif, artinya menyatakan TIDAK. Maka sesuai rumus Present Tense, setelah SUBJECT ditambah DO atau DOES, baru NOT, lalu tambah kata kerja bentuk pertama tanpa S atau ES lagi. S atau ES nya dimana? Sudah di doES tadi. Untuk I, WE, YOU, THEY tambah DO Untuk SHE, HE, IT, Mufli, Ellen tambah DOES I do not drink coffee. She does not drink coffee. John Scoping does not learn english.
Coba perhatikan She does not drink coffee. Drink nya tidak pake S lagi, pindah ke doES. Biasakan saja, Present Simple Tense ini sepertinya rumit tetapi kalau faham maka enak banget. Ulangi saja baca dari atas 10 kali lagi, biar meresap benar, hehe.. Bikin juga 10 contoh Anda sendiri dengan kata kerja yang berbeda. Yes, belajar bahasa Inggris tak boleh manja, harus aktif, baru akan bisa.
Kalimat Tanya Present Tense
Kalimat tanya untuk Present Tense sesuai rumus diatas, atau saya tulis lagi seperti ini: Tanya: DO/DOES + S + V1 Sama saja pasangannya. Untuk I, WE, YOU, THEY gunakan DO. Untuk SHE, HE, IT, Mufli, Ellen gunakan DOES. Contohnya begini: Kalimat positifnya: I drink coffee Kalimat tanya menjadi: DO you drink cofee? Kalimat positif: She drinks coffe Kalimat tanya: DOES She drink coffee? Kalimat tanya seperti diatas disebut juga YES/NO Question. Karena jawabannya memang Yes atau No. Do You drink coffee? “Yes I do” jawabnya. Atau bisa bisa dijawab dengan lengkap: “Yes, I do drink coffee”.

Dihilangkan DO nya juga boleh, menjadi kalimat positif lagi: “Yes I drink coffee”.
Present Progressive (Continuous) Present Progressive Tense atau dulu lebih dikenal sebagai Present Continuous Tense biasanya digunakan untuk menjelaskan suatu peristiwa yang sedang berlangsung. Misalnya kita katakan ‘Saya sedang mandi’, artinya pada saat itu juga memang kita sedang melakukan sebuah kegiatan ‘mandi’. Bingung ya?? Gini, misalnya bokap gue nanya ke gue, ‘Ded, lagi ngapain?’ trus gue jawab ‘Lagi ngeblog, Pak’. Nah artinya kegiatan yang gue lakuin pada saat itu emang lagi ngeblog. Ni contoh yang sederhana dari Present Progressive dalam bahasa Indonesia: 1. Aku sedang bermain gitar. 2. Wanita berkerudung merah itu sedang memetik bunga di taman. 3. Ayah saya sedang memperbaiki mobilnya. Ok. Sebelum kita terjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Inggris, ada baiknya lihat dulu bentuk umum dari formula Present Progressive Tense. Check it out: Formula: S + to be + V1-ing Seperti biasa, subjek sangat berpengaruh untuk ‘to be’ -nya. Langsung aja kita coba terjemahin contoh kalimat sebelumnya ke dalam bahasa Inggris, yuk!! 1. Aku sedang bermain gitar. ==> I am playing guitar. 2. Wanita berkerudung merah itu sedang memetik bunga di taman. ==> The veiled woman is picking flower in the park. 3. Ayah saya sedang memperbaiki mobilnya. ==> My father is repairing his car. Formula: S + to be + V1-ing ==> bentuk paling sederhana dari Present Progressive. S + to be + V1-ing + O ==> menggunakan objek. S + to be + not + V1-ing + O ==> bentuk negatif. To be + S + V1-ing + O ==> bentuk kalimat tanya.
