Mill Mill mai main n moto motorr hard hardwi wire red d inte interl rloc ocki king ng General LOESCHE strictly requires hardwired interlocking for the Mill motor, to ensure that the Mill motor can never be switched on unless the Gearbox lubrication is running. This is a fail safe interlock, independent of the PLC status and is applicable for both, local- and remote operation. For this reason LOESCHE requires placing an additional trip coil (undervoltage relay for HV/MV motors) in the Mill motor switchgear. The scheme of Mill motor hardwired interlock drawing no. 4.L0799-9003/02 shows the configuration required. The following signals are required to be connected in series with the undervoltage relay • • • •
For each of these switches, two sets of contacts (DPDT-double pole, double throw) are provided. • •
The first contact is used for the hardwired interlock The second contact is connected directly to the PLC for software trip.
Explanation In the case where the Mill motor is connected to high/medium voltage, switching ON and OFF is performed actively. I.e.. ON-Coil is energized to start the Motor, the OFF-Coil is energized to stop the Motor. An undervoltage relay must be installed to eliminate the possibility possibil ity of the OFF-Coil failing. In the case where the Mill motor is operated on Low voltage and the OFF-Signal is an active Signal, an interposing relay is required.
Note: LOESCHE will refuse any warranty on on the gearbox if the Mill motor is operated without the hardwired interlocking according to this specification.
