3D2N inca Jungle Trek In this version you will be transported at the end of the bike ride of day1 to Santa Teresa to catch up with the group who left 1 day before you. Downside = you miss the nicest part of the hike on the Inca Trail path and leave your group that you left Cusco with. Upside = You need to hike less and the trek takes only 3 days. By the way, you still can do the Zip Line on day 2.
BOOKED WITH LOKI TRAVEL
BOOKED ON THE STREET
NEW BIKES for 2013!! Our operator owns their own transports, bikes and equipment = much more organized tour + reliable services + complete biking equipment (full helmet, gloves, jacket, knee + elbow pads)
Most other operators must hire transports and rent bikes and equipment = low quality equipment (helmet + gloves only) + disorganization
Pickup at 6:30am leaving Cusco by 7am = extra time for break in Ollantaytambo, quieter road for biking and early arrival in Santa Maria for lunch
Pickup is usually at 8-8:30am meaning a very rushed first day and dangerous biking with bus traffic + arrive late in Santa Maria
1st night spent in an exclusive lodge located in a local community outside Santa Maria = campfire and beautiful views
1st night spent in an overcrowded hostel in Santa Maria = often there isn’t enough space and you don’t get to enjoy the jungle!
Day 2 starts immediately trekking on the original Inca Trail = head start from other groups to visit hot springs in Santa Teresa
Day 2 starts in Santa Maria = first portion of trek steep uphill on the gravel driving road and a long day of trekking!
In Aguas Calientes everyone stays in the same hostel and your guide will go up to Machu Picchu with you in the morning.
Staying in random hostels in Aguas Calientes and often a guide will be hired in Machu Picchu and you will walk up alone.

Crossing rivers, eating passion fruit on the way, hiking on an Inca Trail path and ending with soaking in the hot springs of Santa Teresa. That’s day 2.
