Grid Ca Calcu lculator lator In this session we will make use of Grid Calculator to locate hotspot traffic areas with RF coverage issues.
Step 1 Input analyses: choose an area of your interest. Set the Canvas Filter to a specific LTE carrier, an appropriate Map Bounds and duration time to one day (due to processing time constraints).
Step 2 Drag-and-drop Best Cell and Data KPIs onto a Map. Let all analysis run and check if the results are valid.
Step 3 Mouse hover on the Analysis DL Volume and note the max value.
Step 4 Run Grid Calculator and define map boundaries in the Area Mask by dragand-dropping Map Bounds icon to the Area Mask field
Step 5 Drag-and-drop previously ran DL Volume and Best Cell's RSRQ from the Map Layers to Source Grids area.
Step 6 Input the following formula in Expression field: (DLVolume_kb>= Thres1) AND (BestCell_sRSRQ<=Thres2) Replacing Thres1 and Thres2 by Thres2 by appropriate values.
Step 7 Provide a name in the Output Grid Name, e.g. “High Data & Poor Quality”, to the analysis. Click the GO button to create the output grid.
Step 8 Analysing the Output Output Grid: drag-and-drop drag-and-drop the Output Grid entry entry to the Map Control. Configure the new layer Colour Scheme in order to show only bins with value 1 (TRUE). What does this Output Grid analysis map is telling t elling you?
Step 9 Make the necessary changes to replace the RSRQ criteria of the expression by RSRP values of re-run the grid calculator. Plot the new output grid analysis on the Map Control What does this new Output Grid analysis map is telling you? 6-2
