Balancing the Meridians Using Color Gels Organized According ro the
5 Rhythms/Elements

The purpose of this chart is to guide you in treating a specific meridian for under- or over-energy using color gels and a flashlight. The steps: 1. Determine any meridians/organs that are over-energized or under-energized. 2. Find the meridian/organ on the chart and locate the treatmenr color. The color listed on top is for treating under energy. The color on bottom is for treating over-energy. 3. Find a gel that is the appropriate color and shine a flashlight through the gel and onro a neurolymphatic poinr on that meridian. 4.
Because there are individual differences (different variations of shade or color may be needed for a particular individual), energy test immediately to be sure the treatmenr is having the desired effecL If it is, continue the treatment for abour a minute. If it is not, experiment with other colors.
You can also use rhe following colors as an easy balancer and harmonizer: scarlet at K-27; lemon at the 2nd chakra; blue at the coccyx. © 2005

A Quick "Mental" Grounding Technique This three-part method can be done mentally in a flash whenever you need it. Memorize it so it is always instantly ava/1able. also be combined with any of the earlier methods.
It can
1. Place your feet flat on the ground and take a deep in-breath.
As you release this breathe, mentally drop your energy low in your body.
2. With another deep in-breath, move your energy down
governing meridian, from the top of your spine, down your spine, off your tailbone, and into the Earth. You are creating a "grounding wire" to the Earth. Also feel the pull of graviy t down through your legs and feet.
· 3. As you release your breath, release your thoughts and concerns and release any energy that is not yours down through this groundrng wire and through your feet. With this technique, you consciously align yourself with the force of gravity in pulllng your energies down into the force field of the earth. By involving Governing meridian, you are able to instantly move your energies with your mind.
Opening to the Grounding Energies of the Earth (to enter at your feet and hands) •
Open the "foot chakras" by massaging and stretching the heel away from the ball and then massaging the gaits and squeezing the sides.

Open the "hand chakras" by thumbing them (massaging the palm of one hand with the thumb of the other) and then pulling the energies off each of your fingers.

Staying "Grounded"· in the Air While many physical and emotional experiences can disrupt our natural grounding, air travel is a spec;al case because of the unnatural prolonged separation from the Earth combined with its being so unlike anything we encountered as we evolved. While some people are more sensitive than others to "earthlessness," here are some simple methods anyone can use:

Tap the ends of the meridians (use a basic psychology" sequence or find the meridian endpoints in
Energy Medicine).
Do at least 3 or 4 times over the course of your
travel, depending on the length of the flight and how many take-offs and landings are in your itinerary. Some people also are reporting that this prevents jet lag.
Before getting off the airplane:
Open your feet and hand chakras as described. earlier. Then sedate your stomach meridian using the acupressure holding pOints. End by tapping the stomach pOints on your cheekbones and thanking the pilot for the safe landing.
At your destination: First, "Connect Heaven & Earth." If you then do not feel balanced, centeredi and grounded, any of the earlier grounding methods can be used. Here is one that addresses the way that for many people, their field is spinning after a flight. The basiC strategy is to ground your chakras to the new geographical location : 1. Starting with either hand at your heart, breathe deepry and make a clockwise circle. Continue and expand the circle, so that on the second round you pass over your 3m and 5th chakras, on the next circle (spiraling outward) you pass over your 2nd and 6th chakras, and on the fourth circle you pass over your 1st and 7th chakras.
Finally make giant circles as high as your hands can reach at the top and touching the ground at the bottom.
2. Stop at the bottom. Take a deep breath while hanging over, draw your flattened hands up and trace spreen meridian.
3. As part of the above, or separate from it, if you are feeling
unstable at a location, take your hand & smooth it slowly a
couple of times around your navel, and then land your hands at your 2nd and 4th chakras and hold for as long as it feels good.

Bring to mind a color you love and send it through your body. Imagine the color flowing through and infusing every cell in your body. Continue for 15 seconds or longer. With your breath, release this color into your'aura. Seal it!!!! Seal your aura by crossing your ankles, breathing in deeply, and gently pressing your fingers together as you exhale. You can further lock it in with a "cross crawl. "

Note 1: These colors may appear in any layer of the aura, but these meanings do not apply to the life color, whose colors have very different meanings (refer to Donna's t4Life Color" CD). Note 2: These are generalizations based on observation. The specific meanings may vary according to the situation. For instance, the person's life color may influence the meaning of a color that shows in the aura (e.g., blue in the aura of a person with a blue life color may not reflect the sense of calm described below, but may instead reflect an excess of blue that is actually agitating and uncomfortable). So while the meanings described here do reflect general principles, they are in no way absolutes. Blue: Reflects calmness. Reflects nurturing, affectionate, and loving energy. It is often in the aura of a healer while doing healing, o r a meditator, mom, o r nurse in action. Artists also often have blue in their auras when they are creating. Very Dark Blue: Indicates that wiH power is befng exerted. Sapphire & Azure Blue: Often seen when healing is occurring. Light Blue: Reflects religious o r spiritual quafities. It can also reflect qualities such as being sterile or aloof. SimHarly, white in your aura may insutate you ·against i n trusion, or it may expose you Aura energy often turns white when the person is near death. .
Purple: Signifies a spiritual or intuitive nature. When someone is earnestly praying, you often see purple or lavender in their freld. It may also signify that the person is a seeker or healer.

Note: Color gels and a flash light are an easy way of directing color into a chakra or an acupressure point or tracing a color over a meridian. Also see ''Balancing the Meridians Using Color Gels." A FEW GENERALIZATIONS: Reds, pinks, oranges, browns, and yellows are warm colors. •
They activate. They build energy and fight depression.

They speed up circulation.
Blues, greens, turquoise, and violets are cool colors. • They soothe and t ranquilize. • They may be used where there is fever, infection, or bleeding. • They can calm the heart. • Diseases of the eyes, ears, nose, and throat often respond to these colors. COLORS TYPICALLY APPLIED TO SPECIFIC SYMTPOMS: • These are also generalizations-NEVER forget this • The Life Color always tempers generalizations like these • Energy test to confirm Blue: • High blood pressure, agitation. • Soothes burns and cuts.. • Helps with fevers, hoarseness, jaundice, rheumatism and sore throats. • Reduces infection. Blue light has replaced blood transfusions for about 30,000 babies a year in the US (but the blue began to irritate the nurses, •

CRYSTALS AND THE ART O.F ENERGY CYCLE MAlN.TENANCE

The healing use of crystals extends back to our earliest ancestors and was refined to a high art by the shamans and healers of many cultures, including the Native Americ.an Apache and Cherokee tribes. Like everything else, crystals carry a vibrational rate that can influence other energies in their proximity. Crystals also reflect light, perhaps the most primary vibration in the universe. Spinning a crystal over an electromagnetically sensitive point on the skin has a subtle but immediate effect on the energies involved with that point. When practiced with consistency, working with a crystal can begin to bring about beneficial changes in your energies and in your life. •
•
Natural crystals are minerals with a highly regular atomic structure that creates their external faceted symmetry. Crystals coming from different minerals are believed to have different energetic effects on the body, such as fluoride for heartache and sadness, citrine for mental clarity. Crystals made of cut glass, such as the one in the Energy Medicine Kit, are neutral and can be used for any intended effects without unintended side-effects. They also lend themselves to a hole on one end that allows a string to- be put through it so the crystal can be spun over an energy point.
Using Cut Glass Crystals on a String
Spin the crystal about an inch in front of your Adam's apple. Close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths and notice any sensations in front of your throat. It does not matter whether the crystal is next to your throat, as when you are sitting or standing, or above it, as when you are lying down. While the energies and the sensations are reasonably subtle, the more you work with these energies, the better you will become at being able to discern them. •

Spinning a crystal in a counter-clockwise motion has the effect of pulling energy out of the area adjacent to the crystal. Spinning in a clockwise direction tends to send energy into the area. Spinning the crystal back and forth over the endpoint of a meridian, clockwise and counter-clockwise, flushes the meridian, pulling out stagnant energy, and immediately replacing it with fresh energy.

Chakra. Clearing Using a Cut Glass Crystal: Begin with the root chakra and spin the crystal . about an inch over your pubic bone (this· is best done lying down), or in front of it using a clockwise/counter-clockwise spin. Close your eyes as you continue to spin it back and forth for 30 to 60 seconds. Then stop the crystal from spinning and see if you can notice any sensations as you breathe into your root chakra for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat the process as many times as you like. Then move on to the second chakra. Using the same procedure, repeat the process until you have done this with all seven chakras. When you are fInished, remain in a meditative state and observe any sensations you experience. You may fInd warm feelings flowing through your body, you might fInd that your intuition is more open and that creative thoughts or images are coming to you, or you may simply feel deeply and pleasantly relaxed.- Repeat as often as you wish.
A Meridian
Balance Using a Cut Glass Crystal: You can also use the crystal to give yourself a
quick meridian clearing and balancing. The procedure is similar, except you will be working with different points. Figures showing the endpoints for each of your 14 mer. idians can be found in Energy Medicine, the "Energy Medicine Kit," and various other references. Spin the crystal adjacent to or over the point, back and forth, for 15 to 20 seconds. Within four to seven minutes you will have given yourself a basic meridian treatment. When you are fInished, relax, remain in a meditative state, and observe any sensations you may experience.
Using a Cut Class Crystal to Help Open the "Third Eye," Simply spinning a crystal held above or in front of the area of the "third eye" Gust above the bridge of the nose, between the eyebrows) has helped many of my students open to their psychic abilities. When I sense that someone has psychic abilities that
are
blocked (as is true for so many in cultures that strongly
emphasize thought over intuition), this simple technique, done a couple of times a day for less than a minute each time, followed by a few moments of observing inwardly, begins to gradually but noticeably increase the ability to sense subtle information within a relatively short period.

Using Natural Mineral Crystals
Many books and websites describe the specific healing properties and other benefits that have been attributed to specific types of crystal.
As with everything else that involves your
energies, the impact of any given treatment will be different depending on you and your energies and needs at the time.
So energy test before putting too much trust in any universal formula.
Among the most common ways of using natural crystals are: • • • •
•
•
BE in the energy of the crystal-just have it near you, either in the room as a piece of
jewelry.
AFFIX the crystal to a chakra or meridian point (particularly consider acupuncture strengthening points)
SPIN the crystal over a given area, as described in the discussion of the uses of cut glass crystals.
TWIST the crystal into a given area of your skin--pushing its most pointed area into your skin and twisting it back and forth. It often becomes harder to twist it as the energy connects.
BREATHE your prayers into the crystal and plant it in the earth. FIVE-POINTED STAR: Use the crystal to trace a 5-pointed star over a chakra This helps balance the chakra, and can alternatively be done with your lmgers, with a flashlight, or with any color you choose and energy test.
ALIGNING YOUR ENERGY WITH A CRYSTAL: •

HOLD the crystal in your hand so that all elements (fingers) surround it. TWIST, as above, this time holding the crystal in your right hand and pushing its most
pointed area into your left palm.
INFUSING ENERGY INTO A CRYSTAL ("Waking it. up"): •

INFUSE IT WITH SOUND: Piano music and bells are great. INFUSE IT WITH LIGHT: Use clear light or a color that is healing for you.
CLEANSING A CRYSTAL: If a crystal that once felt good no longer feels good, you may not need its properties as much, but it also may need to be "energetically" cleansed (you can also energy test or simply hold the crystal in your hand and see if you become tired or thirsty): •

THE BELT FLOW "EQUATOR"

An energy Donna calls the "equator" surrounds the belt flow. It sometimes looks like another auric band sitting between the 2nd and 3m chakras, but it is really the outer dimension of the belt flow and has the energetic of a radiant circuit rather than an auric band. The belt flow connects the energies between the upper part of the body and the lower part. The equator assimilates and integrates information between upper and lower. Information from the root chakra can be assimilated into the crown chakra, for instance, or information from the throat chakra can be assimilated into the solar plexus, etc. The equator assimilates recent experiences into the storehouse of the past, and most importantly, it discerns what is deep and enduring from what is superficial. When the belt flow connection is chronically weak, the body's top and bottom energies don't connect. An energy builds up in the belt flow equator, as if in an effort to keep things connected. But it becomes difficult for information to flow freely through this pudgy equator. So life's lessons can't be fully assimilated and integrated at either an energy level or a psychological level. In that case, you don't feel whole or complete, and you are burdened with the sense that you can't reach your depths. The color of the equator is usually green (perhaps because green sits in the middle of the color spectrum): •

It is a clear emerald green when the belt flow is strong. It looks like rain in a distance, going up and down, connecting the chakras. If the belt flow is habitually out, however, it looks like a spare tire of thick pea soup around the center of the body.
To restore the equator from pea soup to emerald green: 1, Strengthen the belt flow. 2. Stretch the abdomen. 3. Trace small circles around the body at the belt, then figure 8s around the belt, first sideways then up-down. 4. Tap the meridian end points to he.lp the meridians stay connected and send the energies that are stimulated across the belt flow line.

Inwardly ask your question. Scan inwardly to notice if there is an answer. Discuss your experience with partner. How do you know what you know. Place middle fmgers on 3 rd eye. Press in firmly. Push up slowly and with pressure and out over eyebrows. Repeat, but this time push up to the center of the forehead and push out to the temples. Do a third time, pushing up to the top of the forehead and pushing out along the hairline (this third movement helps open the veil between the 6th & 7th chakra). 3.
Then hold Liver 1 and Kidney 1 and ask your question. Scan inwardly to notice if there is an answer or if the answer has expanded. Discuss with partner how this differed from the first time. Begin as with number 3 , but rather than going inward, do automatic writing. Focus on your question and for 7 minutes do not let the pen stop, even if it is to say "I don't know what to say now."

OPENING YOUR INTUITION - FOCUSING ON ANOTHER (sequence as outlined in the class design) 1. Remote Viewing. Begin with a croWn pull. Your partner vividly imagines a
home from childhood, mentally entering it and noticing every detail - from the layout to the room colors to the furnishings. You fmd a comfortable position, close your eyes, relax, and ground yourself. Imagine you are floating gently out of your body and to your partner's childhood home. Do a hook-up or other grounding exercise any time you feel uncomfortable. As your partner continues to be with the home, begin to notice and describe the details around you. Your partner writes what you say without making comment on their accuracy. Then discuss. 2. Do the Three Thumps or another grounding exercise and then "Figure 8" your
energies with your partner's. Sit facing partner so your chakras match - heart to heart, one to two feet from each other. Partner inwardly asks a question about his or her life that matters and shares it. Then sense into the energies, the surrounding aura or the energies that catch your attention at any given chakra. Sense in and begin to speak. Start with describing the physical sensations of perceiving your partner's energies, then describe any symbols or tastes or smells or feelings or intuitive hits that may pass through your mind - be very alert for these, even if they are almost imperceptible, as in the "still small voice within"- and only after these preliminaries, allow more complex thoughts to be expressed. 3 . After a few minutes, come back to center.
Do a '�Blow-Out" to empty your mind and your energies. Zip up. Hold neurovasculars for a minute. Rub heart and small intestine meridians (twist base of little finger). Again "Figure 8" your energies with your partner's. Partner again states the question and you sense into the energies and begin to speak, as in #2. Address the same question from your Heart Chakra. Hold both hands over the middle of your chest and mentally bring your awareness to your heart chakra. Tell your partner what your heart knows about his or her question. 4.
Drop your hands to your second chakra. Mentally bring your awareness there. Roll your energy out from your second chakra and your belt flow toward your partner, and figure 8 the energies. Still with you awareness, in your 2nd chakra, tell your partner what comes to you now about his or her question. Bring your hands to your crown chakra. Mentally bring your awareness slightly above your head. Sense your connection to higher sources of knowledge. Breathe into this. The Etheric FieJd: Shaped like the physical body, it serves as a blueprint for your body and reflects your spirit. Extending as much as 5 inches out from the body, this is the field that people new to- seeing auras usually see first. This field can be- detected by infrared
cameras. It is also called the "etheric body" or the "vital layer." Donna reports that the color of thjs field does not change and that it often reflects the color of one of the meridians associated with the person' s primary element.
Barbara Ann Brennan offers this anecdote in explaining how the- etheric body e-xists prior
to and shapes the p hysical body: "This relationship has been supported in the observations o-f plant growth by Dr. John Pierrakos and myself. Through the use of High

protects the Heart Meridian. Not found in most charts, Donna sees this field distinctly.

This field holds emotions� thoughts, and visual images. It is the subtle energy dimension oryour personal sense orreality, ffis often seen as. two separate fields or "energy bodies.'" 1be '�emotional body" is closer in, then " the mental body." Donna also sees this area of the aura as having more than one layer. She sees four layers: two emotional, two mental. But the- order of these layers varies depending on the . person's sensory type (described in the Energies of Love DVD). We all have all four layers, but the layer that is closest to your body depends on your sensory type:

While "morphic fields" may exist at all levels of energy, emotion, thought, behavior, and physiology, we- use the· term here to bring attention to Rupert Sheldrake's revolutionary insights into the phenomenon, The morphic field combines the
5 elemental energies of the universe (the 5 Rhythms described in Chapter 7 of Energy
Medicine) into your unique constellation of energetic rhythms, habits, and dispositions. It
is relatively fixed> though it can evolve during your lifetime. Field: The .fifth layer is associated with higher spiritual forces, usually attributed to the 6th and 7tlt chakras. The Celestial Field is an antenna that connects you with the Wisdom, Love, and Bliss of the- Cosmos. When y ou are aligned with this field, you feel one with the universe. But whether consciously aligned or not, it is always there around yo u, always available for you to tune into for inspiration .and guidance. While it may have any of many colors, the co 19rs it contains are permeated by gold and silver.

Light is fundamental. Our bodies are biological light-receptors that transform sunlight into life-sustaining energy. A photon is, most simply, a "particle of light." Although light spreads as an electromagnetic wave, it can be created or absorbed only in discrete amounts
of energy, known as photons. The energy of a photon is greater the shorter the wavelength. The energy is smallest for the photons that comprise radio waves, increasingly larger for microwaves, infra-red radiation, visible light, and ultra-violet light. The photons of x-rays, gamma rays, and cosmic rays have the shortest wavelengths and greatest energy (the "highest vibration"). Living cells emit weak electromagnetic radiation. Your skin emits about 30 photons per square centimeter per second. While not visible to the human eye, you emit light. You glow! But not enough to get arrogant. The scientific term is "ultra-weak bioluminescence." Light is also the source of color-white light contains all the colors of the spectrum. Objects absorb specific frequencies of white light. The color of an object is actually the part ·of the spectrum the obj ect cannot absorb. This is reflected and experienced as its color. Our eyes can recognize several million variations of hue (exact location on the spectrum). Light energy has two fundamental dimensions: intensity & wavelength. •

Visible light (light that can be absorbed by the photoreceptors of your eyes) is between 400 and 700 nanometers in length (purple is 400, green is 500, red is 700). Color is both a subjective experience and an objective feature of the world. It is a physical reality and it is an internal experience that is tied to our emotions, perceptual style, and associations. The human energy field is composed of subtle energies that sensitive people often see as color. •
The colors of some parts of our energy field change rapidly with our moods, thoughts, or activity.

The colors of some parts of our energy field change gradually, as with shifts in our health.

The colors of other parts of our energy field have a consistent, unchanging pattem that is unique to us.
The vibrations of the human energy field are as much as a thousand times higher than the vibrations of the bioelectrical signals of the nerves and muscles, which is why it is not usually visible to the naked eye. This finding has caused some scientists to speculate that in addition to the well-established place of color on the electromagnetic spectrum, color may also be a quality of subtle energy that is not on the electromagnetic spectrum at all (like subtle energy perhaps), yet one that still objectively exists in the physical universe. Meridian Colors: While Donna's students have heard her repeatedly say, "Your energies are as unique as your thumbprint," and have heard her emphasize that the chakras don't have fixed colors like some books contend, the meridians do reflect a fixed
color scheme. This is because each organ in the body has a vibratory rate. Your stomach's energy is different from the energy of your liver, but it is similar to the

Where the chakras and the aura reflect the
unique differences of people, the meridians reflect our commonalities - our organs
- not our uniqueness. A meridian's color may differ from one person to the next

E nergy Synesthesia:
Synesthesia ("joining o f the senses") i s the vivid,
involuntary experiencing of one sensory mode through another ("tasting" a color, "seeing" a sound, or "smelling" a shape). The perceptions are experienced as real and originating from outside oneself (rather than being imagined in the mind's eye), as i f the obj ect holds that sensory quality. The great anthropologist Margaret Mead was high in synesthesia, and this is believed to have been one of her strengths in communicating so effectively with those of other cultures and languages . "Energy synesthesia" is the ability to experience, through your sensory system, energies that most people do not perceive. While true synesthesia is genetic (found in blood relatives regardless of upbringing), very rare, and probably impossible to cultivate, energy synesthesia can be cultivated. This ability is actually our birthright (infants and individuals brought up in non-technological cultures sense energies in ways that are rare in our culture), but is lost during enculturation (which can be defined as the social process of systematically placing filters on a young person' s senses to focus perception on what the culture understands and values). Your skin is a reliable bridge for developing energy synesthesia. Skin, the largest sense organ, is photoreceptive. Even with your eyes closed, your skin registers light and sends impulses to the hypothalamus, which are relayed to the pineal gland.
The pineal gland-in the center of the brain directly behind the eyes and
about the size of a pea-contains a complete map of the visual field of the eyes and regulates the body's biorhythms, i n part through the production of melatonin. Those who have studied chakra clearing with Donna will recall being told to close your eyes while giving or receiving the chakra clearing, and to notice if you see colors in your mind' s eye. Many do. Francesca McCartney teaches her students to identify colors, eyes closed, by bringing their hands near an object. She reports that people can "see" color via any area of their skin and fmds that practicing "psychometry" (the use of ones hands to sense energy) is a powerful path toward cultivating clairvoyance.
Simply knowing that your hands, your skin, and your
eyes are wired to sense energy (energy synesthesia)--and for some people their ears, nose, and taste buds as well-gives you an important boost in your ability to

Sensitivity to Light Outside the Normal Color Spectrum: The skin emits thirty photons per square centimeter per second, not enough to cause us to visibly glow, but light is already coming out of the body.

Inner Sight:
The pineal gland is not only light sensitive, it is associated with
psychic development. It is referred to as the "third eye" in numerous mystical traditions, and it is frequently a focus in their many ways of teaching people how to cultivate "inner sight." It is now believed that other areas of the brain, such as the hypothalamus and the right temporal lobe, are also associated with spiritual experiences. And not only is the third eye
