Peer Coaching
I plan to observe a colleague's class and have that colleague observe my class. In doing this we will both benefit from constructive criticism and learning from each other's teaching styles.
Give a presentation at University of Saskatchewan on a Teacher's Box of Tricks. Review a textbook
Engage in a mentorship
Structured Reading
By giving this presentation I will be able to contribute information to the tesol field and encourage teachers to create their own box of tricks. By reviewing a textbook I will apply my knowledge in the TESOL field and possibly gain new knowledge in how to teach certain topics.
In doing this I will be able to think critically, share my knowledge, and learn from the existing teacher. I will not only be teaching English to my students but I will also be learning methodology from the existing teacher. By reading books I will be able to learn new methodology and tricks on how to teach specific topics.
meeting weekly on our own time to discuss suggestions. 2015-02-17
I will contact many publishers about reviewing their newest textbook whenever it is published. I will do this throughout the first semester.
I will be presenting on my own.
I will ask the new teachers if they would like a mentor.
