IX MATHS SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT – lI General Instructions: i. All questions are compulsory. ii. The questions paper consists of 34 questions divided into 4 sections- A,B,C and D. section A comprises of ten questions of 1 mark each, section B comprises of eight questions of 2 marks each, section C comprises of ten questions of 3 marks each and section D comprises of six question of 04 mark each. iii. There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in one question of 2 marks each, three questions of 3 marks each and two questions of 4 mark each. You have to attempt only one of the alternatives in all such questions. iv. Use of calculators is not permitted. However you may ask for mathematical tables.

If the diameter of each pillar is 50cm and the height 4m, what will be the cost of painting in the pillars at the rate of Rs. 14 per m2? 14. The diagonals of a rectangle ABCD meet at O. if BOC = 44o, find OAD. 15. In the given fig. O is the centre of the circle. The angle subtended by the area BCD at the centre is 140o. BC is produced to P. Determine BAD and DCB.
16. Prove that: If one side of a cyclic quadrilateral is produced, then the exterior angle is equal to the interior opposite angle. 17. Express y in terms of x in the equation 2x - 3y = 12. Find the points where the line represented by this equation cuts x-axis and y- axis. 18. Draw the graph of the equation y = 2x + 3.

Or Prove that the line drawn through centre of a circle to bisect a chord is perpendicular to the chord. 21. A farmer was having a field in the form of a parallelogram PQRS. She took any point A on RS and joined it to points P and Q. in how many parts the field is divided? What are the shapes of these parts? The farmer wants to sow wheat and pulses in equal portions of the field separately. How should she do it?

The inner diameter of a cross section is 4cm, the outer diameter being 4.4cm. find its (i) Inner curved surface area (ii) Outer curved surface area (iii) Total surface area Or It is required to make a closed cylindrical tank of height 1m and base diameter 140cm from a metal sheet. How many square metre of the sheet are required for the same? 23. What length of tarpaulin 3m wide will be required to make conical tent of height 8m and base radius 6m? assume that the extra length of material that will be required for stitching and wastage in cutting is approximately 20cm (use = 3.14) 24. A river 3m deep and 40m wide is flowing at the rate of 2km per hour. How much water will fall into the sea in a minute? 25. The points scored by a Kabaddi team in a series of matches are as follows: 17,4,8,27,15,10,5,14,8,24,38,10,8,7,18,28 Find the median of the points scored. 26.
