c This chapter consists of the methods used to illustrate the online business of Filipinos through Internet. c The researchers decided to use surveying our respondents through filling out forms/papers as a primary tool for gathering data because this method is the most efficient and the researchers shall get the answers directly from our respondents(for more accurate answers). c c The sources the researches have are purely from respondents here in the Philippines. c The researchers have based their samples according to which age group they belong to (18 and above), according to their means of living (whether they labor or not; whether they are students), their annual income (within brackets), and gender. Sampling size was determined by the distribution of samplings according to the variable characteristics we have, as we cannot choose random respondents (our study would then be considered void). The respondents were also chosen so that all variables would balance (20 females, 20 males, etc.) Survey Form. The main basis of our research; contains personal questions (name, age, working status) and the terms we have given, wherein they have to rate 1 to 5 (5 being the highest) of how familiar they are within the terms. They are also asked their definition of the chosen terms. Validation. Through the pre-oral/oral defenses, it is ensured that the professor knows what is going on with the research and so as that he could make necessary changes in the study.
c Some sources of our thesis (related literature and study) came from articles, anecdotes, other research which can be found academically in the Internet, but our main source really focuses on the survey/data or respondents gave. The date were gathered and collated for approximately 3 weeks. The researchers are held responsible for the collection and the assembly of the data. c The researchers took the summation (addition of a set of numbers) in analyzing the research data gathered. The Greek letter є (a capital sigma) is used to designate summation. For example, suppose an experimenter measured the performance of four subjects on a memory task. Subject 1͛s score will be referred to as x1, Subject 2͛s as x2, and so on. In our case, we will use the capital letter N to signify the source of respondents. Sample scores are shown below: Subject

This notation is read as follows: Sum the values of X from X1 through X4. The index I (shown just under the є sign) indicates which values of X are to be summed. The index I takes on values beginning with the value to the right of the ͞=͟ sign (1 in this case) and continues sequentially until it reaches the value above the sign є (4 in this case).
Therefore i takes on the values 1, 2, 3 and 4 and the values of X1, X2, X3, X4 are summed (7+6+5+8=26). And with this formula the researchers made it certain that the data results would support and will be in line with the objectives and the hypotheses of the study.
