Edit's Nte T Tends Giveaways Subscitins
editor's note This month we are truly in Spring. The sun has started shining (occasionally), the birds have started singing and the snow has nally melted! To celebrate Spring’s arrival, we are toasting New Babies in a big way this issue. We have cards to send to the new (worn out) parents (page 24) and also Baby Announcement cards too (page 42). We have mentioned woodgrain before and this time, we show you how to incorporate this latest trend into your cards, using stamps, patterned papers and actual wood sheets themselves (page114).

Ribbon is a staple in everyone’s arsenal of crafting stash, so it’s always good to see new ideas about how to use it. I spotted some intriguing ideas in this issue, including a circle of rufes, a bevy of pink blossoms and the body and antennae of a buttery – why not think outside the ribbon reel and see what else you can do with your ribbon. And just to nish off, everything needs a bit of sparkle, so we show you how to add some “bling” to your cards in our Glitter section on Page 42

Our Arl desgner s Laura Crage, halng from u norh n Vcora, Brsh Columba, Canada! She s full-me mommy, ar-me ars, and an amazng card maker. We’re leased o ge o know her beer and share some of her creaons wh you. “I live in B.C. Canada with my husband and two little boys, ages five and three. I consider myself very lucky in that I get to be a stay-at-home mom. I couldn’t imagine a better job than building forts, kissing owies, and reading books to my boys all day. I’m a graduate of a Professional Photography program and plan to start shooting again one day when my boys are older. In the meantime, playing with paper is my main hobby, and fills my down time when the boys are at preschool or out with their grandparents.
I’ve always loved writing, keeping journals or notebooks, and after a visit to Japan in high school I started my first scrapbook. I didn’t really get into the hobby, though, until the birth of my oldest son in 2005. My love of scrapbooking soon turned into an obsession with cards, and I’ll admit that I now make cards much more often than pages. Perhaps my favourite part is their small scale – it’s less daunting and easier to work with. I also love making cards because it gives me the excuse to buy some cute pink, or flowery products that would not fit on my boy pages. I recently saw something that made me smile: a card I’d made four years ago still on display in the recipient’s home. Handmade cards really are something special.”
