The Godi/Godia faces North and starting with Fehu ( ), he recites the runes of the futhark. The Godi/Godia visualizes each rune manifesting in a ring around him/her at the level of his/her solar plex. The runes will form a complete band around the working space or sacred grove.
The Godi/Godia picks up the Gandr and then stands in the cross position. He/She then visualizes his/her Irminsul column with its surrounding four worlds, making the composite 9 worlds of Yggdrasil.
The Godi/Godia then channels the force at his center wheel from all six directions as it builds a sphere of glowing blue might. (This color may be altered as according to the ritual needs)
The Godi/Godia then touches the hind part of the Gandr to the breast at the center of power and thrusts it forward, projecting the force from that point to the inside of the outer ring. (He/She puts the Gandr down and picks up the ritual hammer.) He/She hammer signs and then recites:

“Around me and inside of me Asgard and Midgard!”
Fire Consecration:
The Godi/Godia picks up the ritual hammer as the ceremonial candle is lit. He/She holds the hammer over the lit candle and recites:
“ As the God Thor consecrated Baldr’s funeral pyre
with the hammer Mjolner, so do I consecrate this
sacred flame, so that its cleansing fire may guide us
through the darkness of benighted ignorance and
home to the light of our ancestral Knowledge, which
is the birth right of our blood!”
Alter Consecration:
The Godi/Godia then steps to the alter and holds the hammer over the alter and recites:
“I consecrate this alter and stead by the power of the
great Aesir and wise Vanir, I so do summon the Gods
of the folk and petition their favor on all who are
present!”

unharmonious to our work here today. May we be
bound to just service to folk, so that we may restore
them to the glory of the blood and their rightful
place!”

him/her.”
“Gathered here we call to you in the bounds of this
magic circle from Midgard. In your honor we perform
this sacred rite.”

knowledge and blessings of the great Aesir and wise
Vanir, May their energies charge this mead and
supply us with wisdom and protection!”
“I give this mead the blessing of the Gods of the
blood!”( , , , , , , , , , )
The Godi/Godia draws each rune stave that represents The Gods of the blood in the mead. He intones each runes as he/she outlines the shape of each rune.
The Godi/Godia now calls the initiate forward and tells him/her to kneel. The Godi/Godia is standing before the alter and the initiate is now kneeling facing North. The Godi/Godia goes to the alter and gets the ritual sword, he/she returns to the initiate and places the blade on his/her right shoulder. The Godi/Godia recites:
“By the power of this sword, symbol of Tyr and
Heimdal, may their powers pass through and into
you, so you may be the instrument of your Gods
and ancestors.”
“By this sword you are now purified and by the
power of Odin, Thor, Tyr, Heimdal, Frey and Freya
you are consecrated for your rite.”
“This rite is yours and yours alone, it belongs to no

“We ask that the Gods take notice as we bring
(NAME) back to the religion of his/her blood and
ancestors.”
“Let it be known before the Gods and folk that
(NAME) has come into the sacred circle of his/her
own free will and accord to receive this rite!”
Godi/Godia removes the sword from the initiates shoulder and raises it above his/her head and recites:
“Rise now (NAME) knowing you shall never upon
completing this rite again kneel before God or man,
for our ancestral religion is that of the overman!”
“Our Gods receive this offering now!”
The Godi/Godia returns to the alter (The petitioner now stands) and places the sword back upon it and picks up the ritual knives. He/She returns to the initiate and hands him/her a knife. The Godi/Godia then cuts himself over his heart and tells the initiate to do the same. The Godi/Godia returns the ritual knives to the alter and picks up the ritual hammer, his/her own hammer talisman necklace and that of the initiate. The Godi/Godia then smears his/her blood on both hammer necklaces and the ritual and tells the initiate to do the same. The Godi/Godia then places the necklace around the initiates neck and puts on his/her own hammer necklace. He hands the ritual hammer to the initiate to hold as he/she goes to the alter and picks up the full mead horn. The Godi/Godia raises the horn high above his head (It is full at this point) and recites:
“Hear me! All high and low of Hiemdal’s children and
heil to he who listens!”
“A toast to the Gods of the blood! A horn of plenty
and bounty raised to the high ones of Asgard! Heil
the Gods of the folk!”
“Heil the Aesir! Heil the Vanir!”
The Godi/Godia then pulls 3 moderate sips from the horn and says:
“Heil the Gods of inspiration! Receive the now the
mead of experience! Share in this sacred draught!
“May we strive with vigilant effort to enhance
ourselves and those of our folk! Awaken within us
the power and knowledge to make this so! So in
each gathering we prosper and grow! For the
communal health of our people!
“Heil the Gods of the blood!”
The Godi/Godia notifies the initiate of the proper heil. (Heil the Gods of the blood!) He then passes the horn to the initiate and instructs him/her to empty the entire horn of mead. He/She takes the ritual hammer from the initiate and hands him/her the mead horn. The initiate drains the horn and then shouts the proper heil. He/She returns the horn to the Godi/Godia and the Godi/Godia returns the horn to the alter. The Godi/Godia (still holding the ritual hammer) returns to the initiate with the blood mingled ritual hammer. The Godi/Godia holds out the hammer and says:
“Now is the ordeal!”
Both the Godi/Godia and the initiate grasp the handle of the ritual hammer with their right hands. The Godi/Godia then recites:
“By the power of this circle threshold of the Gods,
noble ancestors and all here who have chosen to
uphold the ancestral religion of the Asa-man. Hear
now this rite for our kinsmen (NAME)”

Godi/Godia:
“Initiate, do you forsake the angels of alienation?“
Initiate:
“I forsake the angels of alienation.”
Godi/Godia:(This line may be altered depending on what old religion the initiate is coming from)

Initiate:
“I forsake all alien Gods including Yahweh.”

folk.”
The Godi/Godia returns the ritual hammer to the alter and picks up the oath ring and returns to the initiate. The Godi/Godia and the initiate both grasp the ring with their right hands and the initiate recites:
“I (NAME), in the circle of truth, and upon the ring of
my people, before all of the Gods and Goddesses,
and in the presence of both inner and outer worlds,
do, of my own free will, most solemnly swear that I
will honor and uphold the commitment and ethics of
Asatru‘, my folk and the laws of my blood.”
“This I swear by the bond of my word and spirit.”
“May my weapons turn against me and spill the last
drop of my life’s blood if I break this sacred vow.”
The Godi/Godia returns the oath ring to the alter and then presents the initiate to the four directions. He/She presents the initiate to the North and says:
“Hear me now Nordhri one of your own has
returned to the blood.”
He/She presents the initiate to the East and says:
“Hear me now Austri one of your own has returned
to the blood.”

“Hear me now Sudhri one of your own has returned
to the blood.”
He/She presents the initiate to the West and says:

this initiate in Asatru’. By this initiation you will be
forever sworn to the Gods of the blood and our folk,
to honor and serve them, as brother serves brother
and sister serves sister, for as long as they shall
live.”
The Godi/Godia then offers the initiate a challenge specifically designed for him/her and give him/her a folk name.
Confirmation of Troth:
The Godi/Godia asks everyone to join hands and recites:
“Once again we have gathered in kinsmenship and
good tidings to honor the Gods of our folk, in one
blood and with one common goal.”
“May each of us individually to continue our quest
for knowledge and may we use that wisdom to aid
our folk and our families.”

“Helpful to Godly children and hurtful to Etin churls.”
“Heil to they who speak them!”
“Heil to they who grasps them!”
