PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE
DEFINISI PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE Penggunaan Alat Ukur (measuring devices) untuk mendapatkan data akurat tentang kondisi aktual dari peralatan
Tujuan Aktivitas : Meramalkan impending trouble yang terjadi pada mesin atau peralatan dan arrive at solution sebelum extensive failure occurs at the shop floor
TROUBLES OR DEFECTS Perubahan kondisi yang sedang terjadi pada peralatan atau mesin yang dapat menyebabkan mulfunction atau kerusakan, contohnya temperatur alat yang lebih tinggi dari yang seharusnya, mesin vibrates more, runs louder and, hotter then finally breaks Defects pada peralatan dibagi menjadi 2 : 1. Chance Defects 2. Drift Defects
CHANCE DEFECTS : Kerusakan yang terjadi secara tiba – tiba atau mendadak pada saat peralatan bekerja seperti poros mesin patah karena fatique, roda gigi rompal,rantai putus tiba – tiba, jembatan runtuh tiba – tiba dst. DRIFT DEFECTS : Kerusakan yang terjadi secara pelan – pelan (gradual) dan biasanya akan mencapai critical limit beyond which aktivitas perawatan harus dilakukan untuk mencegah kerusakan peralatan seperti bearing failure akibat salah pelumasan
In real Practice, 90 % machine breakdowns due to Drift defect such as equipment runs louder, hotter, vibrates more and finally breaks
Detecting these defects and then is analyzed for what happens and what should be done to correct the problems

Predictive Maintenance is not a pre-scheduled maintenance program, but relies on data taken by sensors on a periodical or continuous time basis as well as by periodical human inspections in order to determine maintenance actions. In this way maintenance takes place only when necessary, leading to reduced maintenance costs, extended spare part and asset lifecycle. Moreover, unwanted and unscheduled shutdowns are avoided leading to high product quality, product cost reduction, safe working environment conditions.
