Awakening through Dreams “I slept but my heart was awake” (Song of Solomon 5:2a)
During the Advent season where Christians remember how dreams were an instrumental part of the birthing of Christ in this world, we will explore together how dreams can be a provocative source of inspiration and direction in our own lives. We will reflect on the value of becoming more aware of our dream life, practice doing that in simple and creative ways both individually and collectively, and consider how to develop a more intentional relationship with our dreams going forward. Participants are asked to register by November 24, 2010, to bring at least two significant dreams to the retreat, and to indicate whether they'd be willing to share their dream as part of a group experience.
Leadership: Marc Oehler, M.Div., LCSW The retreat will be lead by Rev. Marc Oehler, who as Pastor, Spiritual Director, and Clinical Social Worker brings a reverence of and a fascination for dreams, as well as over ten year's experience journeying with people and their dreams. Marc currently serves as co-leader of Oasis Ministries' Contemplative Life: Spirituality for Daily Life program and Associate Pastor for Parish Life at West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, NJ.
