How To Setup Items and MRP/ASCP Plan For Auto-Release
Define an employee employee in the HR module module and associa te to the user-nam e. The user-name user-name is us ed to stor e the PWB preferences s ettings ettings w hich includes includes the WIP job status.
Define planner planner code in INV module module and ass ociate the e mployee. INV > Setup > Planners The planner code is used by the Requisition Import process. Note: When the items items is VMI enabled enabled (Vendor Managed Inventor nventor y), t hey w ill be be ignored by auto release planned order s
Defining Definin g Items for Auto-Release Auto-Release INV > Items > Organization Items Bill Of Material tab Set BOM Item Type to Standard General tab Planner coded that you defined. Enter the Planner coded Item Planni ng M ethod to ethod to Not Planned. Set Item MPS/MRP Planning tab Set Release Time Fence option to: Cumulative Cumulative Manufa cturing Lead Time Cumulative Total Lead Time Total Lead Time User-Defined - Then Set the Release Time Fence Days value if user-defined option is chosen. Cannot Cannot be use d w ith auto-release auto-release Blank (NULL) Do NOT Auto-Release Do NOT Release (Kanban) Do NOT NOT Release ease (Au to or Manual) ( R12) -
Defining Plans for Auto-Release Navigate to your plan names form. MPS or MRP, DRP DRP or Adv anc ed Supply Chain Plan names Select Production box (mandatory) (mandatory) -
Profile Options Set the Profile MRP: Requisition Load Group Option at the Site level. Supplier is default. MRP: MRP: Requisition Requisition Load Group Option determines how the requisitions are group ed.

MSC: Auto-Release Compression Days Tolerance - For ASCP only - if you set this to a value e.g. 10, then if the planned order has been Compressed to meet the demand due date, and it is value for Compression Days = 10 days or less, then the order w ill still be released. (Standard MRP / Supply Chain Planning does not allow any c ompression day s)
The process Auto-Release Planned Orders is then launch by the planning process. Which w ill intern launch WIP Mass Load and/or Requisition Import WIP Mass Load w hich creat es the WIP Jobs Job Status is determined by the Planner Workbench preferences value for WIP job status. No material availability check is performed. Discr ete jobs only - no repetitive schedules. Requisition Import w hich launches Create Releases Releases Approved Purchase Requisitions. Grouping option from the Site profile option MRP: Requisition Load Group Option determines how the requisitions are grouped. -
Notes Note: You cannot auto-release recommendations to Oracle Order Management.
