Maintenance method safety

Note the following safety items when working with KSS 280 series signalization: – General KONE safety regulations must be followed during the work. All normal safety measures required in elevator maintenance must be implemented. Local safety regulations must also be followed. – Refer to AM-01.03.002 Take 5 - Electrical safety when working on elevators, escalators and autowalks. The Take 5 safety initiative is designed for installation, servicing, maintenance and modernisation work done on the elevators.

Basic rules preventing ESD hazards
1. Disconnect all power supplies. 2. Earth yourself before touching components. 3. Do not unpack the spare parts before installation. 4. Do not touch the components on the board unnecessarily. 5. Hold the PC-board from its edges. 6. The old component must be handled in the same way as the new one. 7. Do not wear combinations of clothing that can create static charges. Refer to AS-12.02.001.

Environmental Issues Hazardous waste material must be taken care of according to the local regulations and KONE Environmental Strategy. Refer to AS-01.01.190 Environmental excellence-Maintenance for more information on environmental issues.

It is recommended to perform the maintenance work at the nearest floor to the MAP or machine room (control panel), because the power must be switched on / off during the maintenance work. Step Action 1 Take the elevator out of service.

Close the landing doors and ensure that they are locked properly. Switch on the main power. Drive the elevator back to floor level with RDF and open the doors. Switch RDF off. Test that all components work correctly: – If the button board is replaced, check that the elevator serves all levels with COP buttons. – If the KSSLMUL is replaced, verify the display operation and floor markings (perform section 6.4 Testing COP and landing components) and check that the elevator serves all levels with COP buttons. Return the elevator to service.

ADJUSTING GONG VOLUME Step Action 1 Select the main menu “7” in the user interface of the LCE controller, for miscellaneous parameters. 2 Select the submenu for the volume adjustment. 3 Adjust the parameter value of the submenu with up and down keys of the user interface. 4 Press ACCEPT. 5 Switch the LCE controller power off and on.

COP SOFTWARE UPDATE COP software update is done through SD card located in KSSLMUL board. Step Action 1 Remove the COP from the back plate. 2 Disconnect the power cable. 3 Remove KSSLMUL board from the COP to access SD card socket. 4 Insert the SD card to the SD card socket (1). 5 Connect the power cable. 6 Push reset button S2. The software is now loaded to the PCB. The COP starts to work normally. 7 Remove the SD card.
