This project focuses on developing an embedded system to report information regarding road vehicles accidents on highways automatically using MEMS and GSM modem and GPS. The project consists AM! board and MEMS accelerometer sensor" GSM Modem and GPS Module Module.. The MEMS MEMS #Micro #Micro Electr Electro o Mechan Mechanical ical System$ System$ which which consist consistss of a %&a'is %&a'is accelerometer which gives output based on three a'is movement. This setup is fi'ed on the vehicle and during normal movement #(&a'is$" the accelerometer output is nearly constant. )hen )hen any accident accident occurs occurs the MEMS sensor sensor gives unbalance unbalanced d or high high a'is a'is output output value #depends on vehicle tilt$" and then the AM! reads the value and e'pects for the normal movement output value again on same a'is #(&a'is$. The AM! commands the GSM modem and send a SMS to any predefined numbers such as ambulance or police or any other numbers to intimate the accident. The location parameters are also sent to predefined number using GPS Module. )e can add some more sensors li*e alcohol detector " ultrasonic sensor " pie+o sensor and give alert. ,f another vehicle is in front of our vehicle in predefined range bu++er gives alert.
