2.Requirements 2.1 Hardware Requirements - 2 *USB Sticks with LEDs ( 1 USB Stick for GSM and 1 USB Stick for UMTS) - Laptop including Windows XP/Windows 7 -different Browers like Firefox,Internet Explorer and Chrome - Test Mobile Phone including Monitoring Software,for example Huawei U8800 (Ideos X5) with Android 2.3

2.5 GSM/UMST Network Overview The BTS is the Base Transceiver Station within a GSM Network & supports the GSM Cells, normally between 3 & 6 Cells. The BTS & the BSC are forming the Base Station Subsystem (BSS) / GERAN which is connected to the Network Subsystem (Core Network). The core network provides the connection to switching centre and the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN)

The NodeB is the Basestation within an UMTS Network & supports the UMTS Cells, normally between 3 & 6 Cells. The NodeB & the RNC are forming the UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN) which is connected to the Core Network (CN). The core network provides the connection to switching centre and the Internet. UTRAN + CN is the Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN)

FANc Board is always installed in Slot 16 FANc consists of 3 AVC Fans , each Fan uses 12V DC & 0,84A (~10,08W per Fan) Controls the Fan Speed & monitors the temperature at the air inlet Reports the status & temperature to the main controlling processing unit UPEUc – in Slot 18/19 (Unit has 2 external Alarmports to handle 8 ext. Alarms)

The following RTN Modules are being used in the VDF Project: RTN910 + RTN950 + RTN980 The E1 connections will be realized via the boards SP3S(16xE1) or the SP3D (32xE1). For the Ethernet connections in case of IP RAN, the LAN connection will be realized via the EM4F/EM6F board. In case of an STM1 connection, the board SL1D will be used.

Please use the external document „E1 Transmisssion via Krone Blocks” as reference. 3.13 Optical Modules (SFP) Optical Modules will be either used to connect the fiber cable between BBU and RRU or for connecting the transmission fiber cable between BBU and RTN (Microwave). For the RRU connection we will always use Single Mode (SM/Blue) for the fiber connection and for the fiber transmission we will use either Single Mode (SM) or Multi Mode (MM/Black) depending on the Region/VDF.

Preinstall as much as possible!! a) It is important to inform the RIC in realtime when the downtime starts and stops!!! b) Important Timeframe is when the last sector has been blocked and the first sector is on air -> please report these times also to the RIC c) Any other site issues should be reported in a very accurate way to the RIC.

5.3 Verify Loop Connection for WMPT Optical Module needs to be inserted in FE1 port and 1 fiber cable will be used for the loop. 1.25G 1310 NM SFP The O&M Connection will not work without this loop!!!

Prepare the GSM USB Stick and copy the software to the right folder:

Plug in USB Stick with the correct BTS Software Version to the USB port of the GTMU but make sure that the fiber cables from RRUs are connected to the CPRI Ports of the GTMU.

When USB Stick has been inserted, the Software will be automatically loaded to the Boards and the start configuration File. The „RUN” LED will blink for 0.125s and go off for 0.125s. It will take approximately 25-30 Minutes to finish the load.

5.5 Load NodeB Software & Configuration via USB Stick or Laptop Prepare the UMTS USB Stick and copy the software & the configuration file (configuration file name has to be „NodeBCfg.xml”) to the right folder:

Please make a right-click on the NodeBCfg.xml file and select „Open”. Now search for the string „SITE” and check if the „STNAME” is for the correct site!

It will take approximately 25-30 Minutes to finish the load. 5.6 Delta Power System Check Please use the onsite Delta Manual in case of: -Adding additional Rectifiers , please change the number of rectifiers in the Controller of the Delta Power System -Check Battery Voltage when adding Battery Strings - Check that there are no active alarms at the Delta Power Systems

6. Onsite SWAP Activities 6.1 Check Transmission Status of BTS/GSM Maximum 4 E1 s can be connected to the GTMU Board and therefore the GTMU has 4 LEDs (LIU0-LIU3) for each E1 on the right upper corner which are either „ON” or „OFF”. „ON” means -> NO TRANSMISSION „OFF” means -> TRANSMISSION OK In case more than 4 E1s need to be connected an additional board (UTRP) needs to be inserted to the BBU.

6.2 Check Software Status of BTS/GSM In case the BTS software needs to be verified , you need to use the Site Maintenance Terminal (SMT) . a)Change the IP settings of the Laptop to 192.168.0.220 with Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

b) Connect Ethernet Cable to ETH Port of GTMU Board

c) Start SMT by double-click on „btsm”

d)Type in User Name (admin) and Password (admin) – The default IP address for the BTS is 192.168.0.72 ...if it does not work use new Name(admin) and new Password(/hwbs@com)

e) Select „Board” on the left site and click on „Board Management”

f) You should see the main boards of the BBU (at least the GTMU).Right-click on the GTMU Symbol and choose „Board Information”.

g) The correct SW Version can be seen (actual SW Version is V100R015C00SPC276)

h) Click “OK”. Doubleclick on “GTMU” and the RRU Window opens. Selet the MRRU ,right-click on it and choose “Board Information”. Author Markus Heiserholt

i) Check if the RRU SW Version is correct (actual Version is V100R015C00SPC276). Please also check all other RRUs for the correct SW Version. Inform the RIC immediately if the SW Versions of GTMU & RRUs are different!

6.3 Check Transmission Status of NodeB/UMTS Unfortunately the WMPT Board does not have any LEDs for indicating if the transmission is ok or not. For checking the E1 Status you need to use the Local Maintenance Terminal (LMT). a) Change IP Settings of Laptop to 192.168.0.220 with Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

6.6 Testcall Procedure Testcall Scenarios are based on the FAcc Procedure Checklist Huawei SRAN Document from VDF D2. Testcall Scenarien basieren auf dem FAcc Prozedur Checklist Huawei SRAN Dokument von VDF D2. Please ask the RIC for the BCCH&Primary Scrambling Code(PSC)/Sector and the Azimuths for the GSM900/1800 & UMTS2100. In order to avoid crossed feeders partner needs to check the BCCH&PSC/Azimuth against the site build and the azimuth values from the sitesheet. If something is different please inform the RIC immediately. Please use a compass or GPS device, identify the azimuth of each sector and conduct a static testcall in each sector roughly 50-100meters away from the site and confirm : -Sector orientation is correct -Correct BCCH/PSC is radiating from the correct Cell -All Feeders are correctly installed and labeled Always inform the RIC if something is not clear. Bitte beim RIC die BCCH&Primären Scrambling Code(PSC)/Sektor und Azimuths für GSM900/1800&UMTS2100 anfragen. Um Crossed Feeder zu vermeiden, muß der Partner die BCCH&PSC/Sektor mit dem Sitebuild und den Siteunterlagen vergleichen. Sollte etwas anders sein, bitte sofort dem RIC Bescheid geben. 6.8 Facc Documentation Please have a look at the example of an FAcc document. You only need to fill out the technology that you have swapped/installed on the site. For example if you only swap GSM 900 and GSM 1800, then you only need to fill out the parts where GSM 900 &1800 is mentioned as well as the common parts. For already existing technologies like LTE , you do not need to fill out anything.

6.9 Deinstallation Not 100% clarified yet, still under discussion with VDF but probably a higher percent of sites need to be disassembled and the hardware needs to be returned to VDF. 6.10 Leaving the Site via Naview For example you want to leave the site MXB007,so you have to sent an SMS to +49-1725289612 with the following text: naview l mxb007 Now you have to wait for the answer. The successful message should be: „Abmeldung OK” If you write naview l mxb007 –d , you will get the info which alarms are active if the successful message does not come. If you do not get a successful message please call the VDF NMC: +49-211-5337401 You also need to lock out of the Naview system after leaving the site by sending an SMS to +49-172-5289612 with the following text: naview ld Now you have to wait for the answer. The successful message should be: „Abmeldung vom Dienst erfolgreich” Under certain circumstances if you enter a site somewhere in the afternoon/evening and you do not lock out of the system, it can happen that you might be blocked to enter another site on the next day. Therefore it is mandatory to do the lockout every day.
