RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT SIMPLE GESTURES TO HELP THE PLANET!
NATIONAL NA TIONAL MUSEUM O F NATURAL HISTORY THE TOUR DE FRANCE OF BIODIVERSITY
In partnership with
The Tour de France and France Télévisions are collaborating with the National Museum of Natural History
For more than a decade, the Tour de France has been implementing measures designed to reduce its environmental footprint. Along with organisations such as the Assembly of the Departments of France (ADF), the Connexions and Gestes Propres - Vacances Propres, you can also be a major player in our campaign.
GREATER AWARENESS MEANS BETTER PROTECTION
The National Museum of Natural History’s aim is to make the public more aware of the richness of its natural heritage. By logging onto the website of the National Inventory of Natural Heritage (INPN), anyone can find out about the natural spaces, species and geodiversity that can be found near their home. In creating the series “The Tour de France of Biodiversity”, the museum is aiming to promote more widely a resource that is to everyone’s benefit so that “greater awareness awareness means better better protection”.

race, I make use of the collection points at the beginning and the end
of feed zones, as well as the collection point located 20 kilometres from the finish or at the foot of the last climb on mountain stages;
Early on in each day’s live broadcast on France 2 and France 3, a light-hearted and informative infomercial will reveal “The Tour de France of Biodiversity” to viewers, who will find out about a particular species of animal or a symbolic plant in the area being visited by the race. The geological heritage of the Tour’s landscapes will also be highlighted during the broadcasts.

All improper behaviour (speeding, use of mobiles, not respecting the rules, etc.) will be subject to penalties ranging from a warning to temporary exclusion from the race, or even a more severe penalty for more serious or repeat offences. Refusal to obey vehicle regulations will result in the immediate withdrawal of the vehicle concerned from the race caravan and its driver being called before the disciplinary committee. The tolerances allowed on the roads within this privately run event do not extend to lessening of the criminal responsibility of every driver in the event of an accident.
