INDIAN POLITY CONSTITUTION OF INDIA (Important Points) • Indian Constitution is the framework of duties and rules of different Indian governing bodies and its people. • After the independence of India in 1947, it took 2 years 11 months and 18 days to build the Indian constitution. • 26 November 1949 India adopted its constitution and it came into effect on 26 January 1950. • The day (26 January) is celebrated as the republic day in India. Because on that day Indian constitution came into effect and India became a sovereign, democratic republic country. • To commemorate the PurnaSwaraj declaration of independence of 1930, the date 26 January was chosen. • Indian constitution was drafted by the Constituent Assembly and Dr. BhimraoRamjiAmbedkar is called the father of Indian constitution.
