Dear Member, Further to Information Notice 2013-09 2013- 09 ‘Timescale for implementation of the OGP Recommendations’, Recommendations’, I write to t o advise you of a change to the original timescales timescales for Well W ell Intervention Pressure Control: Levels 2-4. A number of Centres Centres have raised concern about about the scale of change to the WIPC syllabus syllabus and have indicated that that they require more time to develop develop quality training. training. We have also had significant input to and revision of the W IPC draft syllabus – syllabus – most most notably at the IWCF IW CF Well Intervention Workshop held in December. We have now issued a finalised syllabus, version 6.1 as attached, which takes into account Member feedback and better reflects current practice. Due to the scale of the revisions to the draft syllabus, and the request for additional time from Centres, we will now start OGP-compliant WIPC Level 3 and 4 exams from the end of March, at the same time as the WIPC Level 2 exams. exams. This will give Centres Centres time to modify their training programmes and enables IWCF to introduce a substantially improved WIPC programme in its entirety. We will continue to collate questions relating to OGP 476 implementation for publication on the IWCF website website as Frequently Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). (FAQs). To submit questions, questions, and any other queries, please contact
[email protected]. IWCF always seeks to deliver the highest standards in well control training and will continue to work with the OGP and our members to raise standards across the industry. Yours sincerely
