Reason for Changes •
A 6 Sigma project concluded SIS and Cat ET software must be modified to ensure stronger security for Caterpillar software and the Caterpillar brand.

Benefit to Dealers: – Improved ability to track application usage (each installation requires a license) – Accommodates separate application release schedules – Reduction in application development testing, maintenance and support from elimination of shared licensing – Incorporates industry standard security practice for protection of software and intellectual property for the enterprise
SIS DVD/Network 2009B Licensing Changes • SIS DVD/Network will require a new license on upgrade to 2009B • SIS cannot use license from 2009A or older • SIS license cannot be inherited from STW nor Cat ET
SIS 2009B New License Message
New licensing for SIS DVD/Network • Independent license required for SIS (and Cat ET) • License cannot be inherited from Cat ET nor STW • When upgrading to SIS 2009B, a new license will be required for SIS to operate
