Procedure • The BTS automatically downloads the software version (version.csp) and data configuration file (TranCfg.INI), and activates the software. • After the activation, the BTS resets. • Wait until the BTS reset is complete. • For details on the status of the LED on the USB disk and the status of the RUN LED on the GTMU in this process, see step 3
1. Obtain the BTS Software • Obtain from Huawei regional Technical Leader. • Or call RIC engineer for help.
2. Decompress the Software Package • Decompress the software package to obtain the software package for the USB.
Make sure the directory of the Software and data configure is correct.
5. Plug in the USB Pre-caution: Before Plug in the USB: 1. All boards and components need to be powered up; 2. Disconnect the E1 cable from GTMU.
6. Check the Status of LED 1. The USB dongle shall blinking for 2-3 sec. 2. The USB dongle shall have LED ON for 3 minutes. 3. The USB dongle shall have LED blinking for 10 minutes, indicating the data and software loading.(if just date loading, 8-10 sec) 4. The site shall reset by itself. (If the site is not reset automatically, plz remove the USB dongle and manually reset the BBU by clicking the RESET button (not power off)). 5. After site automatically reset succeed, connect E1 to GTMU, and the USB dongle LED indicator shall keep ON. Then remove the USB dongle. Note: If the process is not followed or not appearing correct phenomena, plz contact RIC engineer.
7. Verify Software Version by SMT 7.1 Prepare • Set you PC IP to 192.168.0.77/255.255.255.0 • Connect the Ethernet port of the PC to the ETH port of GTMU board by FE cable
7.2 Connect the SMT PC to the BTS for Local Maintenance.
• Start the SMT, Setting communication port parameters
• Log in to the SMT.
7.3 Checking the Software Versions of the BTS Boards Click Board in the navigation tree, and then double-click Board Management in the Function pane on the right
Query and record the GTMU software version. • •
In the displayed Board Management window, right-click the GTMU and then choose Board Information from the shortcut menu. The Board Information dialog box is displayed
Query and record the TRX software version • • •
In the displayed Board Management window, double-click the GTMU. In the displayed Topology Management window, right-click the RRU/RFU concerned, then choose Board Information from the shortcut menu The Board Information dialog box is displayed
8. FAQ • In case of USB upgrade failure and need to reset BBU, use the Reset button of GTMU for BTS reset instead of power switch reset.
