II.
Changes from Version 6.2.1 to Version 6.3
A.
New Features
1.
Flexible setup for Energy Controller Units Knowedge Core isssue No. 0124 . Vision V6.3 adds more flexibility in the setup of ECU (Energy Controller Units) manufactured by Enkoa. In System Setup module, in System Parameters there is new flag "ECU data for employee as for guest" under "RFID options" tab.
With this flag selected, the employee keycard will receive the same rights for energy controllers as guest cards. Only cards are affected, so there is no need to reprogram locks.
2.
Alternative method of DST update Knowedge Core isssue No. 0183 . With Vision V6.3 it is possible to carry the Daylight Saving Time information on guest cards (similar method is present in low-end hotel lock systems manufactured by VingCard: 2100 and 2800). In System Setup - System Parameters, in "Daylight Savings" tab , there are 2 radio buttons in group "Method of DST transfer to locks": "By LockLink" and "By each guest card". When selecting "By LockLInk", Vision system will behave in the same manner as the older Vision versions. DST is transferred to LockLink and then to locks - update of DST must be done once a year (Vision -> LockLink -> Locks). With "By each guest card", Vision will put the daylight saving time information on each guest card issued, hence yearly DST update is not needed. Note that when first selecting this option, all locks needs to be re-programmed to activate "DST by guest card" function. Note: this function is not available in E-cylinders. Do not enable “By each guest card” if there are any E-cylinders in Vision system.

Report on programmed rooms Knowedge Core isssue No. 0139 . There is new report in Vision V6.3. It is shown by going to Reports - Lock - Programmed. There is a list of all locks in Vision database. When group of locks is programmed by LockLink, system user connects LockLink with Vision and clicks on "Receive" button. The list will be updated and the time-stamps will be shown. This list can be printed after pressing "Preview" button.

Improvements
ASA Service starts with delay. When Vision V6.3 is installed with Adaptive Server Anyway as a service on Windows Vista and newer Windows operating systems, the ASA service will by launched with delay. This is to avoid the case when ASA starts before networking is available, which meant that ASA sometimes had to be manually stopped and restarted.
2.
New event in Escape Return mode Knowedge Core isssue No. 0140 . There is a new type of event: “Auto-locked” stored by lock in Escape Return mode. This event is recorded when lock secures the door after the escape return timeout. In LockLink it comes into view as:

In Vision it looks as below:
3.
Conversion to Universal locks in LockLink module There is a conversion utility (wizard) in System Setup | Locks that allows simple conversion of existing locks into Universal type. It was included in previous versions of Vision. Now with Vision V6.3, the same lock wizard can be launched from LockLink module upon pressing "Setup Wizard" button.
4.
Better lock program overwiew LockLink module shows the list of lock programs (lock firmwares) that are installed in Vision system. This list is now organized in 2 groups: "For 4.5V locks" on top and "For 9V locks" in back.

Vision installation kit provides a driver for Omnikey device for 32-bit Windows operating systems, including: Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 2003 Server, 2008 Server and Windows 7. If you have 64-bit Windows OS, please download and install a proper driver from http://www.omnikey.com Remember to install a driver BEFORE you plug-in the Omnikey unit. Note that Omnikey encoders do not support CryptoRF cards in Vision!
Compatibility with LockLink software LockLink software runs on the service terminal. Vision V6.3 should be used with LockLink V3.35. LockLink versions before V3.35 are not compatible with Vision V6.3.

III. Software Installation A. General
Full instructions on the Vision installation process, including setting up the network are available in the Vision Manual, Chapter 1. The manual is available in PDF format on the Vision CD. This chapter is also installed in the main Vision folder as ‘Vision Installation.pdf’. You will need Adobe Acrobat Viewer to read this file. B. Upgradin g
Vision V6.3 will automatically upgrade from Vision V3.1, V4.0, V4.1, V4.11, V4.12, V5.0, V5.1, V5.2, V5.3, V5.4, V5.5, V5.6, V5.7, V5.8, V5.9, V5.9.1, V5.9.2, V5.10, V6.0, V6.1, V6.2.1 (including all SRs and patches of these versions) You will require new license codes for version V6.3 when compared to any of the V3.x or V4.x versions. Vision V6.3 will NOT automatically upgrade from Vision versions earlier than 3.1. These should be upgraded to version 3.1 (using the V3.1 installation program) THEN up to version 6.3 Vision V6.3 will NOT automatically upgrade from DaVinci versions. The database will need to be rebuilt. If you are upgrading an existing V5.x or V6.x installation from single to multiple database operation, you will need new 'Multi' license codes for each database you install.
C. Testing
We always recommend doing a test upgrade on the customer database before going ‘live’. It can highlight problems without the customer knowing. We recommend this be done in the office or at a laptop. This is of course especially important with all new versions. We also recommend checking the customer database with demo locks or even better 2-3 live locks in the hotel etc. If all OK, then go live.
