` prm tTvay dÄaÇeyay gué_yae nm>, Introduction 1.1 Dasa: Time & State •
The word ‘Dasa’ has several meanings and is unique to the astrology of the Hindu’s. It is defined as the state, condition and circumstances of eistence of a !ody, !oth animate and inanimate, during "redefined "eriods of its life as fated !y the "osition of the "lanets, stars and other heavenly !odies in the #odiac at the time of its conce"tion or !irth.
•
It is a means to "erfect "rognostication and descri!es the fate of all created !eings !ased on the configuration of the "lanets in the s$y at the time of their conce"tion or creation.
1.2 Nomenclature •
The %a&or "eriods of any Dasa system are called Mahadasa or sim"ly Dasa.
•
su!'"eriods (2nd level of )yclic "eriods within a ma&or "eriod* are called Antara-dasa or +hu$ti.
•
su!'su!'"eriods (rd level of )yclic "eriods within 2nd level "eriod* are called Pratyantara-dasa.
•
su!'su!'su!'"eriods (-th level of )yclic "eriods within rd level "eriod* are called Sookshma-dasa.
•
su!'su!'su!'su!'"eriods (th level of )yclic "eriods within -th level "eriod* are called Prana-dasa.
` prm tTvay dÄaÇeyay gué_yae nm>, •
su!'su!'su!'su!'su!'"eriods (/th level of )yclic "eriods within th level "eriod* are called Deha-dasa.
1.3 Dasa Applicability •
0imsottari dasa is li$e the icing over the ca$e of 0edic strology. It is the single greatest gift of the %aharishi’s for the welfare of "eo"le in the Dar$ ge of ali es"ecially since the maimum longevity of man during this Dar$ ge is 123 years.
•
0imsottari means 123 which is the maimum duration of this scheme.
•
Irres"ective of s"ecial conditions, 0imsottari Dasa will always a""ly in a horosco"e.
1.4 Dasa Variations •
There are variations of 0imsottari Dasa !ased on the 4a$shatra which initiates the Dasa. They are5

` prm tTvay dÄaÇeyay gué_yae nm>, 2 Judgment of Results 2.1 Lordsip o! Si"ns & #ouses •
The lord of the 7agna is the single most im"ortant "lanet in a horosco"e, as it re"resents the native. The sign occu"ied !y lord of 7agna is called Paka Lagna and it re"resents the intellect (Dhi ?ha$ti* of the native. 6u"iter is the $ara$a of Intellect and hence ;a$a 7agna.
•
If the lord is ealted then matters of that house will flourish and if the lord is de!ilitated then matters of that house is destroyed.
•
"lanet in de!ility can ruin all others con&unct with it even if they are ealted. If it is con&unct @ahu, then great evil is "redicted during its dasaAanta.
However, if it attains neecha!hanga (cancellation of
de!ility*, then it shall give @a&ayoga during its "eriods and all "lanets con&oined shall wor$ in harmony with it. •
4eecha!hanga occurs due to the "lacement of either of the following in endra (only* to 7agna or %oon. I. 7ord of the ?ign of de!ility. II. 7ord of the signs o""osite the sign of de!ility i.e. the lord of
the sign of ealtation. III. ;lanet that is ealted in the sign of de!ility of another. I0. The de!ilitated "lanet is "laced in ealted 4avamsa.
•
If the 7ord of a house is "laced is the /th, 9th, 12th or o!struction (Baadhaka* sign, then the house suffers. ?imilarly, if the lord of these houses "laced in any !hava shall damage it due to such sources of evil. ?ource of sufferingAevil is due5

•
If the 7ord of any house is "laced in Kendra (quadrant* in strength and is well as"ected, the house owned shall flourish during its "eriod due to the native’s $arma. If in such a case, the "lacement is in the trikona (th : Cth* the houses flourish due to good fortune and !lessings.
•
If the 7ord of any house is "laced in the 9th from it, it suffers com"lete destruction even if the said lord is ealted. This destruction is sure to come if the lord is a natural !enefic li$e 6u"iter or %oon.
•
If a "lanet is ill "laced, in a !ad state, ecli"sed or in an inimical or sign of de"ression, if it is in its ealtation, own or friendly navamsa it manages to salvage the damage and recover after an initial set!ac$.

It is the Strength of the "lanet that decides the fructification of yoga (good or !ad* and the etent of such fruits.
•
