Year# 2 Issue# 270 th Date: 27 May 2008
Thursday 10th April 2008 Mahadharmavarman Dr. Yogindrasinh Joshi and Dr. Vishakhaveera Joshi recited the 14 th Chapter of Guru charitra in Sanskrit. While they were reciting P.P.Sadguru Aniruddha Bapu performed the ‘puja’ and ‘abhishek’ on Lord Dattaguru.
Last time we had started an upasana and we shall do it today also. We shall do the same upasana next Thursday as well. We will recite Aaradhanajyoti 56, as I had said last time, on the last Thursday, Thursday, as to why why this upasana is being done. Truly speaking this is Ram’s mantra. It will give us everything but there is a special purpose behind each mantra. The purpose behind this mantra mantra is to destroy the feelings of jealously that is there in the minds
of man and to dissolve the various sins arising out of jealously. I told you on that day itself that the third Thursday, last Thursday was the first, today is the second and the next Thursday is the third one, it will be like the Upasana we did during Mahashivaratri, during the fortnight of Nandi. In that Upasana Upasana we saw the Valukeshwar Valukeshwar Shivalinga. On all the three Thursdays we had offered the bel leaves to Shiva and on the third Thursday everyone had offered the bel leaves. And similarly this fortnight is dedicated dedicated to Hanumant Hanumant and in this Upasana on the third Thursday we all will get to offer something very similar. But intentionally I didn't didn't tell you but today I have to to tell you. We all know know that after Prabhu Prabhu Ramchandra could find the whereabouts of Seeta, after Hanumant had gone there and brought information about Sita, Prabhu Ramchandra arrived at the sea shore along with Laxman, Hanumant, Hanumant, Nal, Neel, Jambuvanta Jambuvanta and and Sugreeva and started started the construction of the bridge to Lanka. Lanka. The acclamation acclamation went on, “ Setu Setu bandha bandha re saagari, saagari, Siyavar Siyavar Ramchandra ki Jay” (Let's built the bridge on the sea; victory to Ramchandra. dear husband of Seeta.) This ‘Setu’ (bridge) , as I had told you earlier during the discourse on "Vishnusahastranama" "Vishnusahastran ama" (the thousand names of Lord Vishnu) is of great importance.
It is the duty of every Vanara soldier to build the bridge for Ram. This means, “Ram, “Ram, please come and kill Ravana inside me. This means that you kill the evil Prarabhda (the bad destiny) in me. Make me truly very happy, make me joyful.” But for this, if we say, "Ram you only build the bridge and make us happy.” No, this will not do. It is not acceptable. "Tumhi Jor Maaru Laga. Dudhachi Kaalji Sarvasvi Tyaga. Vatee Gheuni Mee Ubhachi Maaga. Prusthabhaga Aahe kee?"(You make the efforts and leave aside all your anxiety for milk. I am behind you with the cup of milk.) milk.) I had told you. You put forth your efforts. We do not agree with this. We put forth all our efforts and look back to see whether Saibaba is there or not. He cannot be seen at the back. Therefore, we do not understand. Baba is great . What did Baba say? I am standing behind you with the cup of milk. This means that in whatever direction you are looking at, I am there behind you. If you are turning around to look there then Baba is standing here. If you are looking here, in this direction, then Baba is standing there. But it is certain that he stands there, behind you, with the cup (of milk). But when? It's only when you put in your best efforts. Whatever Baba has told us, the same has been told in the Ram’s charitra. The same is told in Sundarkand as well. It is the duty of every "Vaanar Sainik" (Vanaar soldier) to build build this bridge. He who builds the bridge bridge is the ‘Vaanar Sainik’. He who does not help Ram in building the bridge, is not a "Vaanar Sainik" at all. He is not a ‘shraddhavaan’ we must understand this. All of us must know that the one who is the "Vaanar Sainik" of today, it is for the one who has read the Grantharaj. I know that nobody takes enough efforts to read the Grantharaj. 50 to 60% people only read and balance 40 to 50% people have just browsed through it, found it interesting, that’s all. This is the One and only Granth who is your Saviour Saviour for the following following two and half thousand years. None else will come to save you. "Shreemad Purushartha Grantharaj" Grantharaj" is the only boat
which will save you. During the last great deluge (Mahapralaya), the destruction of the entire world there was Noah's ark which came to their rescue. Now Noah's ark will not rescue us; only this Holy Holy Book will rescue rescue us. It has has been explicitly explained in the Granthraj as to who is a ‘Shraddhavaan’. Many people are being drowned in the sea and they want to catch the boat boat to save themselves. I have told you whose call will be heard. I have also told you whose call will not be heard. "Shreemad Purushartha Purushartha Grantharaj" Grantharaj" clearly states how this bridge is. How are these Vaanar Sainiks? Sainiks? What are are their nine Resolves? This has been explained in detail and therefore we have to build this bridge. We wish to build this bridge and therefore we must know how to build it and how to become a ‘vaanar sainik’. We all know the ‘Aniruddha Mahavakyam’. (Aniruddha’s Pledge).

In our life "Shreemad Purushartha Grantharaj" can only rescue us and that assurance is definitely given by it. But do we have the necessary strength in us to become a Vaanar Sainik? This is the first question which comes to our mind. This question needs to be kept aside. We should first first mentally become become His. Then He takes care care of the rest. You do your work and He continues to do His work. He never falters in doing His work and and has never ever faltered. Whenever anyone anyone is to be patted on the back back he never falters there there too. If He has to break break somebody’s somebody’s back he he never falters falters there and whenever he has to heal somebody’s broken back He does that too. The problem is only with with us. This Ram's Setu, Lord Shree Ramchandra’s Setu build by the ‘vaanar sainik’, we also have to build it. To build this "Shreemad "Shreemad Purusartha Grantharaj" is being prepared in Kothimbe. "Shreemad Purusartha Aniruddhaj Aniruddhaj Dham" is is not merely a notion. notion. They are gigantic gigantic boats which will give a helping hand to save those who time and again are being drowned in this ocean of mundane existence. For which it is extremely essential that everyone becomes a ‘Vaanar Sainik’. "Sachara Vanarasainikkoham"-"I am a "Vanar Sainik in mind and deed". We know that in the story of Ram, Lord Shree Ramchandra along with Lakshman and Hanumant had arrived at the sea shore, but then how to build the bridge. The discussion had started on it. Hanumant said, “The Vaanar Sainiks had become perplexed. They were frightened to think how many years it might take to build the bridge on such a large and deep sea even if they
were in a very large number."Padum number."Padum Atharah Juthap Bander". And our mother, mother, Seetamai is a captive there. there. Then Hanumant said said "Let us do our work and and let Him also do His work and I will do my work." Hanumant told the Vaanars to do their work. Hanumant gave the assurance that Ram would do Ram's work and he continued to do His own work. He wrote Ram's name on each of the stones and that stone floated and became became stable. The bridge bridge was also floating and it was stable. The Vaanars in such a large number could go across on the bridge. But at this time a very strange incident took place. Some of the Vanars were, in that case, very huge. They They were bringing literally literally very huge boulders boulders and throwing them there. That time while a Vaanar was bringing a huge boulder a little squirral came there. She saw Lord Ramchandra Ramchandra there. You may say, "Bapu, who who told the squirrel? How did she know? She is just a creature." This story is truly very beautiful. The squirrel came there. As a natural instinct she was looking for fruits. While she was searching for fruits on the tree a fruit fell down from her mouth. And it dropped in the hands of the Vaanar sitting below. The squirrel is afraid of the Vaanar. The squirrel gets scared of the Vaanar, the monkey from the animal species and not the vanaar from the Vanaar sainnik. The fruit slipped slipped from her mouth, she had taken a bite and since the stalk had broken it fell down. It fell in the hands of a Vaanar. The Vaanar was eating fruits and just then he was wondering as to how the fruit had had fallen from above above and he saw that that it was bitten bitten by someone. someone. So the Vaanar looked looked up. Poor Poor squirrel was already scared. Vaanar just caught hold of her quickly. The squirrel felt that this was her end. She thought that that the Vaanar would either either eat her up or would kill her. Vaanar then asks her, "My dear, do you want it?" The squirrel does not understand his language. The Vaanar asks her again,"Do you want it?" The squirrel did not follow anything. The The vaanar then realizes it and in an an instant gives gives her the capacity to understand understand human language. The Vaanar then asks her again, "Do you want it?" The squirrel replied, " I'd like to have it but if you want, you can eat it. Who are these two sitting there?" Vaanar replied, "They are Lord Lord Ramchandra Ramchandra and Lakshman." First One One is the Lord and the the second one is His companion. The squirrel thus went on asking the questions and Vaanar went on telling her the stories one after the other. When he finished telling all the stories the squirrel felt satisfied. She only said, "O Vaanar, this fruit fell from my hand by mistake but you are my Guru. It is you who has introduced Lord Ramchandra Ramchandra to me. Please take this fruit as an offering from me. Please eat this small fruit. Please accept it and give your ‘Guruadnya’ (commands/ instructions from the Guru). The Vaanar smiled and very lovingly took a very little portion of that fruit and put it in his mouth and fed that squirrel with the remaining part of the fruit. Who could be that Vaanar, Vaanar, so loving. He was none other other than Hanumant; The squirrel who was touched by Hanumant what would happen to her? Now she asks for ‘Guruadnya from Hanumant. Then Hanumant tells her, "My instructions to everybody is the same. Build Ram's bridge. Build the bridge over the sea.” The squirrel then replies, "How can I lift such big boulders? All these vaanar are bringing and throwing such big boulders, big hills and mountains.” The Vaanar told her, "Didn't you catch that big fruit in your mouth? Hold the stone as big as you can in your mouth and bring them here. And along with that the soil, the sand and the gravel which are lying here, just come and roll in it then go and shake your body in the gaps in the stones. stones. Keep in mind that this was the the work of cementing. You go on doing this. Whatever Whatever capacity you have got, intelligently intelligently apply that strength for the work of Ram. This is my Guruadnya. Build the bridge.” This was the first day and the squirrel worked ceaselessly till the entire bridge was built. . Till the entire bridge was build the squirrel worked incessantly. On the last day when Lord Ramchandra was about about to put his first step on the bridge, the Lord had already already blessed all the vaanars and Hanumant requested requested Lord Ramchandra, Ramchandra, "My Lord, here is a creature who who has put in ceaseless effort.” Hanumant Hanumant had had taken the the squirrel in his hand. hand. Ram and Lakshman looked at the squirrel with great love. They knew what she had done but even
then they wanted to hear it all from Hanumant's mouth. Keep in mind, God is very fond of hearing the the glories of His bhaktas. And here it is Hanumant who is praising the squirrel. squirrel. Hanumant tells the squirrel, "Ask whatever you want from my Lord. My Lord can give you what you want." want." Just see, the guarantee Hanumant Hanumant can give, My God can give you anything anything that you want. The squirrel replied, "Gururaya, Hanumanta, you only have given the command and you only have got it executed. It is your God who has got it done. I do not understand anything of this. I do not even know what I should ask for. You only tell me and I will ask for it. Whatever my Guruji will direct, I will ask for that much only. I will not ask for more. I will not ask anything else." How beautiful is the idea, just think. Hanumant tells Ram, "This squirrel fell in my hands. Just as she has got the touch of my hand let her also have the touch of your hand." Lakshman takes the squirrel from Hanumant’s hand and holds it and then Lord Ramchandra Ramchandra caresses her very lovingly on her back with his right hand. The imprint of those three fingers can still be seen even today on the back of any squirrel. These three fingers of Lord Ramchandra Ramchandra are their on the descendants of that squirrel. Think of it. If you hold the squirrel only three fingers can stay on the back and are their on all the descendants of that squirrel. The most important thing is that when she saw Vaanar's work, she did not feel jealous about it. She She was not jealous while doing the work. She did not feel that their job was big.and big.and that I do not have strength and and they have have great strength. strength. She did not feel jealous by saying she had very little strength. She She was not jealous that their their job was great and I have a measly job. Later all the Vaanar Sainiks paid obeisance obeisance to Shree Ramchandra.. He gave gave them gifts and praised praised them. The poor little squirrel squirrel was there in a corner. She didn't feel jealous. That is why Hanumant brought her in the front and at that moment Ram’s fingers appeared on her back and at the very same moment Mother Anasuya who is completely completely far beyond any kind of jealousy gifted her (the (the squirrel) Her own motherhood, the motherly feelings. A part of her own motherhood was adorned to the squirrel and therefore this very squirrel became Mother Yashoda in her next birth. Shree Krishna's foster mother was this this same squirrel. On next Thursday, it is this squirrel who will be worshipped. We will worship that squirrel exactly the way we worshiped the "Linga" of Walukeshwar by this same mantra and what should we ask from that squirrel? From the Yashodamata? "My dear, if you have become Yashoda mata from a little squirrel then let us at least become good Vaanar Sainiks.” What shall we not get by offering to that squirrel? What shall we offer to her? "Tulsipatra". Each one of us. And as I had said last time don't beg for it (Tulsipatra). Do not give it to each other. The Bel leaves were not to be given given but even then four of them had given it to others. I had counted, do not do anything like that. Each one of you should bring their own Tulsi leaves bring one or more. The idol of squirrel will be first worshipped here. And then it will be kept here or there as they they want it and then each and and every every bhakta will be able able to offer the the Tulsipatra to it. And I tell you from the bottom of my heart that the the worship of that squirrel means the worship of the Paramatma Paramatma's 's mother. He is the one and only Parmatma who could make her a mother in a moment, the one who was sad that she she did not have a son. He is the only one. The one who does not have a son, He is her son, the one who does not have a brother, He is her brother. brother. He who has none to protect, He will be her her protector. He who doesn't have parents, He will will be his parents. He who doesn't have have any friend, He will be be his friend. He is everything and everyone. He only could give motherhood to that small squirrel because of the selfless services rendered by her without any jealous feelings. And hence, the worship of that squirrel. squirrel. We should worship that squirrel squirrel along with this Upasana Upasana next Thursday. The importance importance given to the "Linga" "Linga" in the the worship of Shiva the same importance is given to the squirrel in the worship of Ram. Bear Bear in mind that if we catch hold of a squirrel and bring it here to worship then our worship will not reach Ram. It's because that creature who
had helped Ram, would would be worshipped, her idol would be worshipped worshipped here. It will be a good and big squirrel. We will worship her here. We will worship her with the mantra and then each one of you will get an opportunity of offering Tulsipatra to her. So that everybody gets an opportunity to worship worship her peacefully we shall start the upasana upasana at seven o’clock instead of seven-thirty. O.K.? Half an hour early. The CEO’s are happy because last time there was a hurry. They were not very happy therefore we shall improve now. It will start at seven instead of seven-thirty, which means that we will get more time. Arrangements will be made so that we can move around around the idol from all four four sides and we can offer the Tulsipatra Tulsipatra properly and have a good darshan of the the squirrel. Very sincerely tell her, “Mother “Mother Yashoda, (she is not a squirrel, she is Mother Yashoda only),O My mother Yashoda, this Kanha (Krishna) was brought up with your love, affection and care. With the blessings of Anasuyamata you became Yashoda from that squirrel. By your blessings make us vaanar sainiks in word and deed so that we can wipe off all our bad destiny (Prarabdha). " and then offer the Tulsipatra. Use any words that come to your mind. No problem whatsoever. But only say this much while offering Tulsipatra, "Make me a Vaanar Sainik. Mother, make me a Vaanar Sainik. Please, Oh Mom, make me the best Vaanar Sainik." In whichever language you want to say, say it. But the squirrel is a symbol of the strength in us which helps us to make progress progress in all directions. Therefore she she could stay in the hands of that Mahapran Mahapran (Hanumant), Mahapran became her Guru. From Mahapran she went to Mahashesa and there the fingers of Lord Ramchandra remained with her permanently. . Now we will recite this mantra. Next Thursday we shall chant this same mantra. Do not forget to bring Tulsipatra. It will be very beautiful.
