NC SOFTWARE LOADING METHOD
NC software loading may become necessary if the NC malfunctions or software enhancement is required. NC software loading requires the NC software memory card and the IC card holder. The method is described below. 1) Connect the I C card holder to the NC board after switching off the NC power.

4) Switching on the power automatically starts wri ting the program from the I C card to the F ROM . GOP SOFTWARE LOADING METHOD
GOP software loading may become necessary if the GOP malfunctions or software enhancement is required. GOP software loading requires the GOP memory card. 1) I nsert the memory card into the card slot on the right side of the operation panel after switching off the NC power. The machining centers shipped around December of 1997 or later have a card slot for the memory card on the right side of the GOP panel. 2) Switch on the power by pressing the first and tenth square contact positions from the top in the leftmost column on the GOP-2 screen simultaneously.

3) The indicator above the cycle start switch lights upon the start of wri ting to the ROM. 4) The indicator above the cycle start switch turns off in approx. 1 minute. INPUT / OUTPUT METHOD USING RS-232C INTERFACE CONNECTOR
The method of inputting / outputting programs, etc. using external I/O devices such as the data store is described below. 1) Check the settings of the communication parameters. The communication parameters are classified into "DATA IN", "DATA OUT ", "TAPE MODE ", etc. by use. Determine the I/O device for each use on the screen below. One of the five values from "0" to "4" can be set for DE V. NO.
Set the communication parameters including the baudrate and the stop bit for each DEV. NO.

2) Display the GOP PARAM ETE R screen and cancel the WRI TE PROTE CT setting.
3) Display the DATA INP UT / DATA OUT PU T screens. To transfer a program under Nos. O9000 to O9999, it is necessary to set "0" for parameters #1121 and #1122. Check whether the WRI TE PROTE CT switch is ON or OFF at the field. A program under Nos. O9000 to O9999 cannot be transferred when "C" is displayed at the field for the main program. I n this case, change the settings of the above parameters. Also check the device name and the baudrate at #12 DE VI CE NO. I nput data on the screen shown below.

PARAMETER SETTING METHOD
The TV-300 and TV-400 series (MSC-802) use the MI TSU BI SHI NC with a different configuration of the screens from that of the FANUC NC. Different parameters such as SE RVO and PC parameters are set on different screens. Therefore, the screen appropriate for the parameters to be set needs to be displayed. Failure to perform the following operations prevents the screens from being displayed to protect the setting from operational errors. Z1 - 7 - 1.
PARAMETER SETTING ITEMS
Different screens need to be displayed for different parameter #to be set. Also, the parameter #to be set needs to be displayed using the page selection key with the corresponding screen displayed, for lack of the parameter #search function. MITSUBISHI NC ADDRESSES
Addresses used in ladder diagrams are described below. Two kinds of addresses, bit-unit addresses (X, Y, M, G, and E) and byte-unit addresses (D and R), are used. Timers and counters (T, Q, and C) are used in units of bit as a contact, but count data is stored in units of byte. Since addresses are categorized into bit-unit and byte-unit addresses, there is no bit address such as R104.0, which is used with F AN UC. (For example, while address "R" can be in either bits or bytes for F ANUC, i t can only be in bytes for the MI TSU BI SH I . Therefore, it is necessary to copy data from byte-unit address "R" to a bit-unit address to check which bit of address "R" is ON in the sequence. CONFIGURATION OF MITSUBISHI NC PLC-I/F (SELF-DIAGNOSIS DATA) SCREEN (IN HEXADECIMAL NOTATION)
The ladder diagram is often referred to in order to check the status of the machine when trouble occurs or when performing maintenance. The PL C-I/F screen is available for the MI TSU BI SHI NC, as well as the FAN UC NC. Characteristics of each type of address are described below. 1) Display the PL C-I /F screen.
2) K ey in an address to be checked in the device field, and press the INPUT key. The screen has two DEVI CE fields. K eying in two addresses in these DEVI CE fields allows these addresses to be checked simultaneously. 3) I f a bit device is selected, 8 points including the address keyed in are displayed on the first li ne. The address displayed in the leftmost position is the address of bit 0. The address keyed in is in the corr esponding bit, with the bits arranged in the ascending order from the right. I f a byte device is selected, 16 bits are split on two lines, with the high-order and low-order bits displayed on the upper and lower lines, respectively.

Data in different types of address are displayed differently, as follows. (1) Data in bit-unit addresses 1 Bit-unit addresses such as X and Y are in hexadecimal notation. The leading address on each line starts with "0" or "8". "0" to "7" are displayed on the lines on which the leading addresses start with "0", while "8" to "F" are displayed on the lines on which the leading addresses start with "8". For example, the PL C-I /F screen is shown below when "X14" and "Y2E" are entered in the left and right DEVI CE fields, respectively.
"X14" is in bit 4 on the li ne with the leading address "X10", and "Y2E" is in bit 6 on the line with the leading address "Y28". (4) Set values of the counter The preset and present values of the counter can be checked on the PL C-I /F screen. The preset and present values are displayed at "counter No. + 2000" and "counter No. + 3000", respectively.

As shown above, the ladder diagram can be called out in two modes: the search mode in which searching for the desired address is possible and the setting mode in which continuous circuit blocks can be monitored. I n the search mode, specifi ed circuit blocks that are not conti nuous can be displayed block by block on one screen. For example, how the ladder diagram is used when "M895" does not turn on. The diagram indicates that "M804" needs to turn on for "M895" to turn on, and that "X133" needs to turn on for "M804" to turn on.
