I need your advice on a purchase. I am thinking about buying buyin g Kenton's original Kolossal Killer but I’ve heard that Killer Konceptions is much better. I don't know which trick would be a better buy. I’ve done some research on both tricks but people seem to be divided on which is better. It seems that some people like Kolossal Killer and others like Killer Konceptions. Special user Michigan, U.S.A. 688 Posts
Kolossal Killer is Kenton's Kenton's trick that has has a manuscript manuscript explaining how to perform it and Killer Konceptions is a just manuscript. On his website, Kenton says says that Killer Killer Konceptions was not meant to “replace" the original Kolossal Killer and that you'll need the manuscript from Kolossal Killer first to read and comprehend Killer Konceptions. If this is correct I might be better to just just buy the Original Kolossal Killer and not worry about which effect is better. I would like to purchase both but I can only afford a fford one. I would rather buy a book than a trick anyday but I've heard so many good things about this trick that I am going to purchase it anyway. Does anyone know whether the Kolossal Killer or the Killer Konceptions trick is in any of Kenton's books? I am going to buy a couple of Kenton's books later this year and it might just be cheaper for me to just buy the Kenton book that has contains the effect. If neither are in any of his books, which trick would you suggest that I purchase, the Original Kolossal Killer or Killer Konceptions? Thank you for your help a nd advice. Nope, KK is not in any other books. And you definitely need the original manuscript before you get Konceptions. I love the variations in Konception and may use some of them (in fact the verbal force is something I do use) but I generally use the original version.

But, I figgured out the effect and method just by reading Killer Konceptions, though I would rather have had both at the time. Get them both.

It is certainly possible to figure out the method but there are many subtleties in the original manuscript.

Both are well worth the cost, but I agree with those who say you really should have both to do justice and if you only choose one, make it the original. MephistoWizard New user 7 Posts

There is a new version of Killer Konceptions out ("Killer Konceptions 2010"). Who ever is working with Kolossal Killer and already own the old konception manual ...consider updating it to 2010. It is the same plus, plus, plus... A lot of working mentalists have contributed their version of t he Kolossal Killer. You can get it via wonderwizards.com as a PDF.

Bang On by Marc Oberon is a far stronger effect than Kolossal Killer. It allows you eliminate the childish "off by one" out. Check out Tony's new thriller Dead or Alive http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alive-Varrick-Bo......n+carson http://www.PartyMagic.ie

I do several of my own variations. One I eliminate all the writing, one with no cards, and (coupled with anout idea) one you can even do over the phone. I love KK, and think the KK2010 would compliment the original nicely! gerard1973: Inner circle Look Ma! 1104 Posts
If you DO get KK, please let me know. I have a new variation that allows the cards to be freely shown and even given away as souvineers. A few people are already using it. Consultant, performer, creator, and all around nice guy!

Ouch! Controversial I actually prefer the off by one! Bang on is excellent, but its a bit heavy on pocket space.

I do a version of this that combines work by Kenton Knepper with work by Larry Becker to be spot on with one card. Wonder if I should market it, with the honorable mention of the two creators I saw inspiration from? Just cause they say it, doesn't make it true.

Well said, Roger; couldn't agree more. It's simply a matter of taste and style. My favorite (knowing and trying all): a combination (yes, my idea) of On the Mark (Mark Elsdon) and Bang On. Love it.
