INTRODUCCIÓN Este seminario es una breve recopilación de información acerca del Sulfobacillus Thermosulfidooxidans. • Esta bacteria fue encontrada en un cultivo de ka muestra Baño 9 (Copahue) en medio MAC 1.8 + Fe(II) (5.58 g/L) • Fue sembró en placas de Petri doble capa agarosa con Fe(II)+S4O6-2 • Posteriormente se cultivo por separado en medios MAC 1.8 + Fe(II) (5.58 g/L) y MAC 3.0 + S4O6-2(3 g/L) • Fue identificada tras la secuenciación del DNA codificante para el RNA-16S y la posterior comparación con la base de datos BLASTN con un 99% de identidad .

0.6-0.8 µm Redondas, brillantes, inicialmente amarillas luego marrón rojizo. En pares o cadenas cortas Endosporas esféricas o ligeramente ovalada se encuentran subterminalmente, terminal, o paracentralmente.

• Aeróbico Estricto. • Anaerobiosis no ocurre con NO3• Mixotrofico y organográfico facultativo • Oxida Fe+2, S0, S2O32-, S4O6 2− y sulfuros minerales en presencia de sustrato orgánico • Crece poco organotroficamente en: EL, CASEINA, CLUCOSA, SCUROSA, FRUTOSA TREALOSA, MANOSA, RAFINOSA, GLUTAMATO y GLUTATIONATO REDUCIDO • El crecimiento autotrófico es muy pobre.
