All the most important metal parts are treated against corrosive factors corresponding to ambient conditions C in compliance with the UNI 356465 Standards. Galvanization is carried out in compliance with the UNI ISO 2081 Standard, classification code Fe/Zn 12, with thickness of 12x10-6 m, protected by a layer of conversion mainly consisting of chromates in compliance with the UNI ISO 4520 Standard. These characteristics mean that all the Esafluor SFA - SFE circuit-breakers and accessories comply with climate graph no. 8 of the IEC 721-2-1Standards.
Altitudine
Altitude
It is well-known that the insulating properties of air decrease as the altitude increases. This phenomenon must always be taken into consideration during the design stage of insulating components of equipment which is to be installed over 1000 m above sea level. In this case a correction coefficient must be applied, taken from the graph given on the following page, which is drawn according to IEC 694 Standards indications. The following example gives a clear interpretation of the indications given above.
Esempio
Example • Installation altitude 2000 m • Use at rated voltage of 12 kV • Withstand voltage at industrial frequency 28 kV rms • Impulse withstand voltage 75 kV p • Ka factor obtained from graph = 1.13.
Taking the above parameters into consideration, the apparatus will have to withstand the following values (under test and at zero altitude, i.e. at sea level):
36
5 – tensione di tenuta a frequenza industriale pari a:
– withstand voltage at indust rial frequency equal to:
28 x 1,13 = 31,6 kVrms
28 x 1.13 = 31.6 kVrms
– tensione di tenuta ad impulso pari a:
– impulse withstand voltage equal to:
75 x 1,13 = 84,7 kVp.
75 x 1.13 = 84.7 kVp.
From the above, it can be deduced that for installations at an altitude of 2000 m above sea level, with an operating voltage of 12 kV, apparatus with a rated voltage of 17.5 kV characterized by insulation levels at industrial frequency of 38 kV rms and with 95 kVp impulse withstand voltage must be provided.

Anti-pumping device
The operating mechanism of Esafluor SFA - SFE circuit-breakers is fitted with a mechanical antipumping device which prevents reclosing due to both electrical and mechanical controls. When both the closing control and any one of the opening controls are active at the same time, there would be a continuous succession of opening and closing controls. The anti-pumping device prevents this situation and ensures that only a single opening operations follows each closing operation and that after the opening operation there is no further closing operation. To obtain another closing operation, the closing control must be released and then reset. The anti-pumping device also allows the circuitbreaker to be closed only when the following conditions occur at the same time: – operating mechanism springs full y charged – opening pushbutton and/or shunt opening release (YO) not activated – main circuit-breaker contacts open and at their run end.

A) The circuit-breaker is only fitted with the accessories specified in the order acknowledgement. To make out the order, please consult the catalogue of the apparatus. B) The lock on the conn ector does not al low circuit-breaker closure mechanically with the socket removed. Vice versa, removal of the socket with the circuit-breaker closed is prevented. The plug is mounted on the operating mechanism. The socket leads to a cord with 52 conductors, as well as the protection conductor. C) The undervoltage release can be supplied in the following two versions: • for power supply with voltage branched on the load side of the circuit-breaker. To allow closure of the circuit-breaker with the release de-energised (the closing lock is carried out mechanically), a mechanical time-delay device must be inserted on the release. This means that the circuit-breaker closes and remains closed in any case for sufficient time for the voltage to be made on the load side. Should the voltage not be
made, the circuit-breaker opens again after the mechanical delay device time (pneumatic) of the release. This version does not allow the use shown in fig. 33. The contact in fig. 12 is only supplied on request and is of impulsive type, so any signalling of the undervoltage release de-energised must be memorised by a self-latching or flag relay, to be provided by the customer. • for power supply with voltage branched on the supply side of the circuit-breaker or from an independent source. Use of either the instantaneous undervoltage release or the one with pneumatic timedelay device (inside the operating mechanism) or the one with a capacitor (outside the operating mechanism) is allowed. Closure of the circuit-breaker is only possible with the release energised (lock on closing is carried out mechanically). The contact shown in fig. 12 or the one in fig. 33 (signalling is permanent) is available. Should there be the same power supply for the closing and undervoltage releases and automatic closing of the circuit-breaker is required on return of the auxiliary voltage, a delay of 50 ms must be inserted between the moment of acceptance of the undervoltage release and energisation of the closing release. This can be achieved by means of a circuit outside the circuit-breaker including a permanent closing contact, the contact indicated in fig. 33 and a time-delay relay.
7 D) Nel caso di interruttore SFAs con primo sganciatore di apertura alimentato in c.a., occorre prevedere sempre l’applicazione indicata in fig. 31.
D) When there is an SFAs circuit-breaker with the first shunt opening release supplied with a.c. voltage, the application shown in fig. 31 must always be provided.
E) In the SFA s circuit -breakers, the ci rcuit of the B63/L1-L2-L3 pressure switches in figs. 2526-27 can be used by connecting terminal XZ-8 (socket X-M6) or terminal XZ-48 (socket X-C5) to the negative polarity: – if it is connected to XZ-8 , circuit- breaker opening and lock on closure is obtained – if it is connec ted to XZ- 48, lock on clo sure and on opening is obtained so the circuitbreaker remains in the position it was in before the pressure decrease. F) The Q60 circuit-breaker shown in fig. 4 must always be provided if there is a spring charging motor at 24V d.c. In the case of opening caused by a fault in the motor, before carrying out manual recovery, it is always necessary to complete spring charging using the special handle. G) When figs. 25-26-27 are required, the Q/5 contacts in fig. 16 and Q/7 contacts in fig. 17 are not available. When fig. 8 is required, contact Q/5 of fig. 16 is not available. Contact Q/7 of fig. 17 is not available either since it corresponds to the second contact used in series with the second shunt opening release of the ER and ERM operating mechanisms with diagram 401188. H) The Z filter is only provided with 220V d.c. power supply. I) The circuit for supervision of shunt opening release coil continuity shall be used for this function only. With power supply under 220V, connect the “Control Coil Continuity” device or a relay or signalling lamp which absorbs a current which does not exceed 20 mA. With power supply equal to or higher than 220V, connect a relay or signalling lamp which absorbs a current which does not exceed 10 mA. Other uses jeopardise the release integrity. I) Check the power available on the auxiliary circuit to check the possibility of starting sev-
Utilizzi diversi compromettono l’integrità dello sganciatore.
