Gather information about additional components to be installed or updated Make sure all components are at required level to upgrade to EHP7 DB2 upgrade to Ver 10.5 Run Landscape Verification in SOLMAN Production. Check if it is GREEN Run MOPZ and Generate xml file from Solution Manager Download patches Free space requirement SUM Directory - 35 GB /usr/sap/trans - 80 GB (60 GB temporary space requirement) Shadow System - Approximately the space required for your source release instance, that is, the size of the following directory: /usr/sap/ Free Tablespace and data volume space requirement - Approximate 50 GB Updating SLD Content of the Source System (CR and CIM content) Taking Note of Activated ICM Services Identify the situation, where an instance restart required during uptime and negotiate down time with customer in advance. Identify which users are required for upgrade (and have necessary authorizations) and keep passwords ready. Collect SAP*, DDIC, J2EE_ADMIN and other PI related required Super user passwords Take necessary backups (profiles, kernel, java, others) Any third party tools configuration and bin files backup. Sometimes, third party tools and customer specific scripts are installed in profile and kernel location. Take backup of those as necessary. Start uptime phase. Extract all media SPAM Check Add-on Selection
SPDD/SPAU Change Request with changes (QAS or PRD only) Clearing queues when possible, object locking in transports and/or functional issues Give heads up to customer before locking the system down for any transports Take customer approval before locking the system Creation of Shadow system Archiving messages in PI adapter framework Resolving Inconsistencies in the Database Task Related to Background Job SWEQSRV Handling Inactive IDOCs and RFCs in the Integration Repository During the Upgrade Conversion Agent by Informatica Stop communication channels in PI(QA/PROD) Disable RFC in ECC (QA/Prod) Suspend background jobs if any Lock Users except DDIC and basis super user, j2ee admin Support for any functional issues during upgrade Isolate CI Just before hitting downtime, make sure to have a DB online backup and archive log backup up to last minute Disable archiving Downtime installation Backup system Release Batch Jobs Unlock users Perform post-steps specific to upgrade as per upgrade document Check SPAU and make necessary adjustments Run PI Wizard run SGEN Check system health (run standard basis transactions) Take a backup (Do not release the system until backup is finished) Restart communication channels Enable RFC in ECC (QA/Prod) Clear queues (qRFC/tRFC ) in ECC Send email to customer mentioning, what are pending or customer activities like SPAU screenshot, BATCH jobs release, etc. PI Readiness Checks PI Interface Validations and testing Upgrade Complete
