S er ervi vi c e B ull ulleti etin n Service Service Preparation Preparation Before performing performing any s ervice, remove the ice bucket, and then check the condition inside the ice ic e room. NOTE: NOTE: IfIf the ice bucket is stuck, stuc k, use a steamer s teamer to melt the ice ic e until you can remove the the bucket. Be sure to place a towel under under the ice bucket to catch catc h water as it drips down down as shown. NEVER use NEVER use a heat gun or hair dryer to defrost the ice room.
Remove the ice make m aker, r, following following proper proper procedures. When the ice maker is removed, unplug the refrigerator to ensure the cooling loop does not frost over during service.
Use a steamer to remove all traces trac es of ice and frost from Ice Room area. Make Make sure to run steam down the drain area. T his is v ery er y important important.. If If any ice is left, it can c an cause the issue is sue to resurface.
Once steaming is is complete, towel down the ice room area, including the Ice Maker Assembly and Auger Assembly,

Gaps may exist between the Ice Room housing and liner wall. Use the RTV sealant supplied supplied from Samsung to seal these gaps.
Part number required: DA81-05595A
Cut the applicator tip at a 45 degree angle, and then apply the sealant along the joints identified by the red line. This will help to provide a sealed ice room environment. environment.

1. Using sing an an inspe inspecti ction on mirror, check chec k the positioning of the water line as it enters the Ice Room area. Pictured left is an example of the line being inserted too far into the fill area.
2. From From the the rear rear of of the uni unit, t, press in on the grey retainer ring and back the grey fill hose out about about 10mm . 3. Re-i Re-insp nspect ect to ensu ensure re the the hose is back far enough, but not pulled too far out.
4. Re-secure Re-secure hoses hoses to a flush flush positi position on on the the rear rear cabinet. You don’t not want the hoses sticking out or they could get pushed back in when you install the unit against the wall.

Inspec Inspectt the Ice Ice Route flapper. Ens ure the rubber is still s till soft and pliable, pliable, has no no tears or rips, and that that the flapper is in the fully c losed posit position ion when out. Also Also inspect inspec t the ice ic e dispenser opening for cleanliness. If build up has occurred, wipe clean before reinstalling the Ice Route.

Inspect the Ice Bucket and check the bucket bucket itself for cracks cracks in the base. Check Che ck the gasket gasket around the edge making making sure it has not ripped, r ipped, cracked, cracked, or becom be come e too rigid, prev enting a proper seal. If any any defe ct is found, order and replace the Ice Bucket.

A serv se rvice ice kit has has been created, create d, consisting consisting of (2) Y – Clips and (1) improved cooling loop retainer.

1. Remove retaini retaining ng ring. You You can use a pair of needle needle nose pliers pliers for this this as shown below below left. Replace Replace with w ith the new retainer from the service kit.
2. Install the Y-Clips Y-Clips as shown, directly onto the cooling loop loop and and press pressed ed firmly back back against the insulation and retaining retaining ring. Ensure the clips are pointing straight down.

Order and replace the Ice Maker Assembly for all service cases. Please see the corresponding chart for the the proper part for each unit.

If they have moved out of place you you possi p ossibly bly can adjust a djust with your your fingers at a t the the ice ic e maker rear opening openi ng or you you may have have to drop the the Ice Maker back down off its mounts mounts and reposition repositi on the the clips. If the clips cli ps are not not straig s traight ht down this will imped i mpede e the effectiven effecti veness ess of the clip cli p to transfer heat from the the defrost d efrost element, and will also make it very very difficult di fficult if the icemake ic emakerr needs to be removed in the future.
