Arbitration – the binding resolution of disputes by one or more neutral persons as a substitute for judicial proceeding. Advertisement or invitation to bid – the notice published by the owner & the invitations issued to prospective bidders giving information as to the nature of the proposed project condition for the issuance of contract documents & date of bidding. Bid bulletin - is additional information on contract documents issued to bidders before date of bidding. PERT – program evaluation & review technique PLANNING – is the function of coordinating in a logical order all the activities, persons, machines, & materials necessary to complete the project. SCHEDULING – is the placing of the plan on a calendar timetable and showing the allocation of the equipment & manpower that will put the plain into effect. METHODS OF PLANNING 1. 2.
BAR CHART METHOD CRITICAL PATH METHOD
BAR CHART – shows the time necessary for each function but does not show how they are related to one another. (Traditional bar charts show both functions simultaneously w/ the result that the answer is too often incomplete). CRITICAL PATH METHOD (CPM) – basically is technique that separates planning & scheduling. it also clarifies the inter-relationship between time & cost.

SIZE – shall be not less than 102 mm in buildings in w/c the highest outlet is 23m. or less, above the fire service connections. Higher than 23m – shall no not less than 153mm. 4. FIRE SERVICE CONNECTIONS – not less than 46cm nor more than 122cm nor more than 122cm above grade.
SEC 6.11 WET STANDPIPES A. SHALL BE LOCATED SO THAT ALL PORTIONS OF THE BLDGS ARE W/IN 6m OF A NOZZLE ATTACHED TO 22m OF HOSE. B. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS 1. SIZE – shall be not less than 64mm dia. when the height of the riser is 15m. or more above the source and shall not be less than 51mm dia. when the height of the riser is less than 15m above the source. 2. OUTLETS – all interior standpipe shall be equipped with a 38mm valve in each storey. Located not less than 19cm or more than 192mm above the floor. 3. HOSE & HOSE REELS – each wet standpipe outlet shall be supplied w/ a hose not less than 38mm dia. 4. WATER SUPPLY – standpipe shall deliver not less than 132 liters of h2o/mm and not less than 1.8 kilos/square centimeter residual pressure from each of any two outlets flowing simultaneously for 30 min. WHERE COMBINATION STANDPIPES ARE INSTALLED, 38mm outlet system may be supplied from the combination system with a 51mm connecting line. 5. PRESSURE & GRAVITY TANKS – shall have a capacity of 265liters of h2o/min. for 30 min. 6.
