The Metaphysics of Prosperity By Randy Gage You were born to be healthy, happy, and prosperous. You were born to be rich.
“Oh c’mon Randy,” you ask. “Do you really believe that everyone in the world can be wealthy?” As a matter of fact, I do. Now I also understand that each person will only manifest their prosperity to the degree that they understand the consciousness that provides it. And I know there are a lot of confused people
in the world right now. Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy that examines the nature of reality, in particular, the relationship between mind and matter. Let’s explore how that relationship works in terms of prosperity consciousness . . . Emmet Fox once stated, “ . . . the thing you see in the outer is the precipitation on the physical plane of a mental equivalent held by one or more people. The secret of successful living is to build up the mental equivalent that you want, and to get rid of, to expunge, the mental equivalent that you do not want.” So what does all this mean? Quite simply, your prosperity already exists as an ideal in your mind, on the Super-conscious level. Metaphysically speaking, this means that you already have the fulfillment of your prosperity—otherwise you could not have desired it in the first place! There is a Divine idea for every part of your abundant life. At this very second, in Infinite Mind, there is the idea of total abundance, vibrant health, your perfect vocation, and healthy relationships. Your dream home, designer clothes, a red sports car, or any other material manifestation of prosperity you desire are there as well. Your prosperity comes from the Power stored within you, waiting for your demand.

Now in order to manifest your good on the physical plane, it is necessary for you to build a bridge between these realms . You must open the channel for
your good to appear. That is what we do at the Prosperity Power Experience. In your true nature, you are a perfect individualization of Infinite Power. This Infinite Power created (wo)man in Its image. Thus you are the Selfexpression of the Infinite Power of the Universe. Because you are the manifestation of this Power—and this Power is expressing Itself as you— it cannot leave or forsake Its own Self-expression. Infinite Power is above you, below you, next to you, within you, and projecting Itself AS you. That means that not only are you the image and likeness of this Power, but you and this Power are one, and can never be separated. And once you understand this at every level of your consciousness, your true awakening has arrived!
This Infinite Power expresses itself as you, me and everyone (and everything) else on the planet (and millions of other planets). So how then can we define this expression? As consciousness, of course. Consciousness expresses itself as consciousness. Put another way, Infinite Mind expresses itself as mind, Infinite Love expresses itself as love, and Infinite Prosperity expresses itself as prosperity in you. So when you manifest prosperity, you are doing no more than demonstrating the expression of your Spiritual consciousness—your true nature—which is the expression of Infinite Power AS you.
To help you really understand that, it would be helpful if we define what true prosperity really is . . . It is healthy, happy relationships, fulfilling work, contributing to a greater good, beautiful sunsets, morning rain, abundant health, rainbows, and nature. It is knowing where your good truly comes from, and having a strong spiritual foundation in your life. AND it is having a car that makes your heart race, beautiful home(s), trips to exotic locales, and a closet packed with stunning clothes and the other material things that bring joy to your life. 4

I say that because there is a lot of lack programming and very erroneous information going around on the subject. Some people will tell you that prosperity has nothing to do with money. That’s just plain silly. Yes, I know money doesn’t buy happiness. But I also know that poverty breeds unhappiness, hopelessness, and despair. It causes people to lie, cheat, steal, and even kill. There are people who teach prosperity courses that are broke. They say things like, “Well I haven’t manifested a lot of material things, but I am very blessed with health and relationships. They have to say that, because otherwise you might doubt them when they climb into their ‘73 Pinto hatchback. Well I got news for you. That dog don’t hunt. You can’t be a “little bit pregnant” and real prosperity means in all senses of the word—which includes money, cars, homes, and the luxuries of life. Now maybe you aren’t into cars, but you like boats. Or helicopters and Armani suits are your thing. You get the idea though. Prosperity means living without fear of paying bills, scrimping by, or depriving yourself of the things that bring joy and meaning to your life.
In my case that means a condo on the ocean in Florida, a flat in Paris, fast sports cars, season tickets for the Opera and film festival, trips all over the world, playing on three softball teams, two walk-in closets packed with designer clothes, working when I want, wonderful people in my life, the time to spend with them, and a spiritual sanctuary that fulfills my needs. Yes I enjoy the rainbows, sunrises, spring showers and all the “free” things in life. But I’ll be the first to admit the sunrises are better when you can watch them from your own balcony every morning, not once a year when you’re on vacation! It’s pretty special when you can surprise someone for their birthday with two First Class tickets to Vegas for dinner and ‘O’ at Bellagio! Now we’re using money as the metaphor here, but the principles we are discussing apply to all areas of prosperity. How many people are in abusive relationships and justify staying in them? (“Well he beats me when he’s drunk, but he seems so sorry afterward, and he’s so good to me the rest of the time.”) Do you think you’re serving the world by being in a negative relationship? 5

Do you think it’s spiritual to be poor? Do you think you’re doing God’s work because you’re driving that ’83 Camry with 8-track player in it? Do you believe you are serving the world by being sick, broke or unfulfilled? Hardly. As I told you earlier, when you manifest prosperity, you are simply demonstrating the expression of your Spiritual consciousness. This is your true nature—which is the expression of Infinite Power AS you. So what does that mean in practical application?
It means that God, Nature, the Universe, or whatever you prefer to call this Power, does not give you a new car, a better job or a bigger home. Nor does this Power withhold your good, “give” you disease, or limit your prosperity. It simply means that Infinite Power gives each of us Itself.
It gives us substance—and substance becomes the new car, better job or bigger home. To manifest prosperity—whether we are discussing optimum health, great wealth, or attracting your perfect soul mate—it is necessary that you tune into the Prosperity Consciousness that is inherent in your true Self. This Power within you is responsive to your needs. Once you learn how to tap into this power, you can manifest all the prosperity that is yours, because you actually are this Power in expression. This Power is in all people. But it does not demonstrate Itself, until the host person develops their consciousness enough to access it. Emile Cady tells us that our supply ever awaits our demand on it. The demand must be made before the supply can come forth to fill it. So why don’t more people accept the abundance and prosperity that is their birthright? Because they get programmed. By TV, radio, the Internet, their government, organized religion, and even their friends and family. They buy into the lies that money is bad, rich people are evil, and it is somehow spiritual to be poor. They believe in the outer evidence, but never explore the inner proof.

You can think you want to be successful, but actually be doing things to sabotage that success.
All I know is that it took me losing my business, selling my furniture, sleeping on the floor, and eating macaroni and cheese three times a day for months to discover a very fascinating thing . . . I thought I wanted to be rich. But every time I started to become successful—I did something to sabotage myself, and set myself back. After “snatching defeat from the jaws of victory” yet another time, I finally stopped and did the self introspection work necessary for a breakthrough. What I discovered about abundance and prosperity is t hat it has nothing to do with opportunities, chance, luck—or even training, education, or skill. Your boss, the stock market, your job, interest rates, or the economy have nothing to do with your prosperity.
You—and only you—control your prosperity. And you do so by the consciousness you develop.
When I was sick, broke and unhappy, I was a high school dropout, with no formal education, connections, or training. Now that I am a multi-millionaire, I’m still a high school dropout, with no formal education, connections or training. But there is one big difference . . . My consciousness. When you change your consciousness—everything changes. And I do mean everything.
When you develop your consciousness, you attract certain people in your life, you get offered different deals, you have the intuition to pass up bad deals, you recognize opportunities that you wouldn’t have seen before, you attract health and repel disease. I like to joke with people that I have the Midas Touch. But it’s true! Everything I touch turns to gold. Or platinum. Or Prada. One of my sports cars was stolen. Two days after I listed it for sale. The law in Florida is that the insurance company must pay you the retail replacement value for your car. So I ended up getting $15,000 more than I was asking for it! I overpaid for a condo on South Beach. A new building was sold out, but I had my heart set on living there. So I found a recent buyer and offered him 7

$100,000 over market value. He took the money and ran; I got the place I wanted. Two years later, I wanted to move north. The market had gone up so much I sold the place for $265,000 profit! Now it wasn’t always this way . . . For more than 30 years, my life sucked. Real bad. I was sick, unhappy, broke, and miserable. Everything I touched turned to camel dung. So what changed? My consciousness. I came to the belief that I was responsible for everything that happened in my life, both the good, and the unspeakable horrible. Which was a very frightening thought indeed . . . Because it meant I could not blame my dysfunctional relationships on the other person anymore, I couldn’t blame my business failures on crooked partners and the economy. And I couldn’t blame my poor health and other tragedies on God, the universe, destiny and circumstance. And while that was quite a frightening thought at first . . . it became the thought that ultimately gave me freedom. Because if all that was true about those bad things, then logic dictated that it must be true for the good things. Which meant I could manifest being happy, getting rich, becoming successful, and attracting quality people into my life!
Which is exactly what I did. And exactly what you can do as well. Do you really get this? Do you realize that you can manifest all the good things and live a life of health, happiness and prosperity?
Coming to this realization was the single, most important, defining breakthrough in my existence on this planet. Because it took me out of the mindset that I was a victim of circumstance, and created a mindset and belief that I could control my own destiny. Although I see prosperity in a spiritual context—the laws of prosperity are actually very scientific and quite tangible. The only free cheese is in the mousetrap. 8

Until you identify your underlying lack programming, and give up your ownership of being a victim—you won’t expect and accept the prosperity that is your birthright. Living the Abundant Life You Were Promised . . .
The world has many examples of enlightened people who have walked the earth as human, yet demonstrated this spiritual Power. Buddha, Gandhi, Sathya Sai Baba, Jesus the Christ, and many others have demonstrated that we are meant to be healthy, happy, and prosperous. Yet if you are struggling with challenges right now, it may sound crazy to hear that you were born to be prosperous. But that is your true nature. In fact, being poor is a sin! You see if you go back to the original definition of sin (in Aramaic), it means “to miss the mark.” Or if you have ever studied the Course in Miracles, you know that the Course defines sin as a “lack of love.” I’m ok with either of those definitions, because I believe that if you are not manifesting abundance, you are missing both the mark and the love that this Infinite Power has for you. In his landmark book Prosperity , Charles Fillmore gets a basic premise across, right in the introduction. He tells us that we have a wise and competent Creator, who provided for all our needs. Two key points in this. 1) Our Creator provided for us with a spiritual substance, which is around us everywhere. And, 2) This substance responds to the mind of man. It is your thoughts that manifest the substance into day-to-day reality. Here’s what I know to be true . . .
When you call the airline, they ask if you want to book in First Class or Coach. And they’ll give you whatever seat you’re willing to pay for. And that is the way life is. The only thing separating the Coach cabin from First Class is a curtain! All you have to do is pull it back and walk through. Everyday, you get a dozen chances to choose First Class or Coach. 9
