[ Difficult to share again & Again so once for all posting on my wall.. Feel Free to share ] It wud be helpful for you if you r stuck in confusion over UPSC preparation guidance/coaching selection/material authenticity etc. ... 1... Its difficult to prepare for UPSC from outside Delhi without any good guidance. Well i am not a UPSC exam expert but yes gave mains+ interview( last yr and this yr interview over) and staying in delhi for preparation, so have some experience . So let me help you out.. 2... Well as a matter of fact for UPSC General studies coaching is no more important ( Actually it is a wastage of money/time & probably your first attempt too but doesn’t hold true for Optional subject , whr coaching is required if you r first time studying that optional/chances are if not this yr but for sure next yr thr wont be any more optional ) 3... But Why ? because coaching can't cover what you can cover on ur own in a whole day, while coaching completes the syllabus from books only , even that too superficially to make Innocent freshers fool to give thema feeling of syllabus completion. While UPSC are more inclined towards depth study of conventional topic Like History /Art & culture while for polity/economy/social aspect/ethics UPSC wants you to read newspaper/magazines only only & only ( have a standard book for reference only ) 4.. then solution : well As i say coaching is not important but no doubt there material is v much important since we alone cant read all 5-6 English news paper( TH,IE,TOI,ET,TB etc) and Magazines (Fntln,DTE,EPW,WF,Y&K wtc) , so their hired employees do it for only coaching student. 5.. So final solution : Avoid coaching for GS ( for optional u may have to) but Try to get hold of coaching material.. 6... But then which coaching material is good..? Well try to stay away from popular coaching with big name in newspaper Advertisement ( They are for fleecing nd looting MP/MLA's kins ) .. 7... So i will try to make a list of best material in which some coaching is good , but no single coaching is good in every topic of UPSC syllabus . This knowledge you earn when u live in Delhi.. 8..So i am cutting your workload so just follow the material list which is almost must buy with some exceptions as well how you can buy it and Precaution while buying them , Because if you dont purchase on the spot and depend on courier then they will send you old/unused /incomplete /fake material with genuine coaching name in frontage ( all are xerox notes which r sold illegally)( not their fault , they have simply no idea abt upsc requirement of proper material so they scanned every coaching material to sell.. So still for solution read this completely..You will find a solution through me ( But last option coz i am also busy in my UPSC Preparation) My suggestion for important material of Delhi UPSC coaching & Courier channel... These are for General Studies Papers... 1. Must Read News Paper and its up to u only so cant help 2. Certificate Physical and human geography by Gochen Leong ( v.v.v.imp Foreign School Books) 3. Indian Geography by khullar ( Best Standard Refrence Book but hard core Geography) 4. Orient Blackswan Atlas ( Must have one) 5. NCERT Geography XI/XII( imp but optional can download too) 6. History of Modern India by Spectrum ( Must read 2-3 times) 7. Indian struggle for Independence by Bipin Chandra ( Must Must ..) 8. Indian Since Independence by Bipin Chandra ( Important no doubt) 9. India After Gandhi by Guha ( Imp but Optional ) 10. The Story of civilization Volume II , Contemporary World History old NCERT ( Must Read once) 11. World history by Jain & Mathur ( Must only Source So must Read 2-3 times) 12. Anciect/ Medivial / Modern Indian History old NCERT ( Must read many times) 13. Indian Constituion at work NCERT / Indian politics

Indian Polity Part I and *PART II of SriRam Coaching (v.v.v.v.v imp ) 26 IGNOU material ( of Social issues/Environment/Internaional Issues/Polity/ Ethics) Etc….(will help if Read once)( costly so download freely from internet) 27. CSAT Paper I mock test series by Direction or CL coaching..( have it useful) (a). Vajiram & Ravi Current Affairs booklet per booklet till now Volume 5 has come.. (b) Vajiram & RaviTest Series each paper total 7 GS and 5 CSAT has come till now.. (c) Vision IAS Topis wise Booklet on current affairs and other syllabus topic Now these are for Optional only so choose ur optional very carefully/ for books talk in msg.. 28. Public Administration Synergy Class Notes ( Best for Paper I) while Pawan sir notes are good for Paper II 29. Geography Alok ranjan/Neetu Singh Class Notes ( Best) 30. History Hemant jha coaching class Notes ( Best) 31. Political Science class notes of Vajiram & Ravi (best) 32. Sociology class notes of Upendra coachig/vajiram & Ravi printed notes ( Best) 33. Philosophy class notes by Patanjali ( Best) 34 Psychology class notes by Mukul Pathak (Best) 35. Anthropology printed notes Brain Tree Coaching ( Best ) but class notes available only of Dr Lakshmaiah SArkar by Mitra’ IAS or by Pradip Sarkar 36 Hindi Sahitya by Utakrsh Sir or Drashti coaching 37. Indian economy Service by Kalinga IAS Academy Printed Notes only .. 38 Maths/physics/Chemistry Class notes ( by Best UPSC Coaching Near IIT Delhi) 39. Zoology/Botony by Evolution coacing ( Best) .. So My Suggestions Regarding material purchase are : Ak Home 1. Buy Books from Flipkart coz some what cheaper then delhi .. 2. But for xerox coaching notes Best option is u urself come to delhi and buy it on ur own, or ask ur frnd in delhi to help u out But... 3..Don’t Buy coaching material from middle man(shopkeeper) coz they will courier u old/bad handwriting handwritten notes or fraud coaching material with best coaching name .. with courier charge varies from 100 to 150 /- per kg as per distance with no safety while Govt Registered post takes only around 60/- per kg..... 4.Use this as only your last option : ( Dont think that i want u to take my help , everyone's time is precious but as I have come across so many desperate aspirant outside delhi , desperate for help so putting this option ) So if you are outside Delhi and dont have neother option and want me to help u in buying the material and courier them to you then you can Message me in Facebook it self but Do not Comment coz I wont be able to read them or if u cant wait then SMS me @ 09958840847 but best if u msg me in fb ......….......
