Comparison between RABH & Pulse Jet Bag Filter Sl. No
Parameters
Reverse Air Bag House (RABH)
Pulse Jet Bag House (PJBH)
1.
A/C Ratio or filtering velocity
Due to higher A/C ratio less filtration area is required.
2.
Overall size of Bag House
3.
Bag Cleaning
4.
Bag Life
Air to cloth ratio is lower than pulse jet type bag filter. Which means higher filtration area is required. Due to lower A/C ratio overall size of bag house is higher (approx. 40%)compared to pulse jet. Bag is cleaned by reverse air from bag filter outlet. Hence no compressed air is required but additional RA fan is required. Gentle reverse air cleaning prolongs bag life of RABH.
5.
Off gas Temp.
6.
Effective Height of Unit
Off gas temp. on bag membrane surface surface drops to 40° - 45°C approx. due to low interstitial velocity & approaches acid dew point and which may affect steel parts.
Due to higher A/C ratio overall size is less.
Separate compressed air is required for bag cleaning. But no RA fan is required.
As high pressure purging through compressed air is used for bag cleaning, life of bags are lesser. Here only 20°C drop is expected on bag membrane surface. Hence off gas temp. will be around 20°-25°C above acid dew point and no erosion effect on steel part.
