Start Hysys
Go to the file menu select New followed by case or press CTRLN
Define the simulation basis by adding components and specified Fluid package
Defining Streams
To define material stream press F11 or select it from the object palette (press F4 for object palette tab)
Light blue is the undefined material stream
Define Pump inlet stream with conditions and composition (100% water) as shown in following figure.
Add second stream named as outlet and pressure 84 bars.
The completely dark stream appears as ‘Dark Blue’.
Adding unit operation
Press F12 or F4 to select from object palette
Add pump
Double click on the pump P-100 to open the pump window and complete the connection page as in the following figure
Once a pump has enough information a green bar appears at the bottom of the window indicating that everything is ‘OK’.
Specifying pump efficiency
Default efficiency for pump is 75%, to change it do the following steps.
Click on the design tab of pump window then click on parameters.
In the adiabatic efficiency tab enter 10. This unit should be in percent as shown in following figure.
After the efficiency is entered the streams of the pumps should be solved
Click on the Work sheet tab to view the result
