SCOPE Project Overview
ONGC intends to develop the New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP) Block KG-DWN-98/2, in deep waters off the east coast of India. The discovery areas in the block have been categorized as Northern Discovery Area (NDA) and Southern Discovery Area (SDA). The scope of the present development is limited to Cluster 2 of NDA only. A location map identifying the KG-DWN 98/2 development area is presented as Figure 1.1. The KG-DWN 98/2 block is located within 25-40 km of the nearest land-fall, and is adjacent to RIL’s KG-D6 field and GSPC’s Deendayal field. The water depth in this block varies between 300 metres and 3,200 metres. Figure 1.1 : Block KG-DWN-98/2 Development Area
The fields discovered in the area comprise of a number of oil and gas discoveries, and are spread over a large area. Each field has technical challenges such as high wax, hydrates and sand production. The Pre-FEED assumes NDA covers the following production area:

Cluster 2 −
Mix of oil and gas, located in the south of NDA, includes the following fields :

Oil fields (Cluster 2A) – DWN-A-2; DWN-P-1; DWN-M-3, DWN-M-1; DWN-M-4 and DWNG-2-2.
−
Gas fields (Cluster 2B) – DWN-R-1; DWN-U-3; DWN-U-1 and DWN-A.
This study assumes a phased development:
Phase 1 : Cluster 2B (gas); and
Phase 2 : Cluster 1 (oil and gas) for future provision.
Cluster 1 The CPP and LQUP facilities have been selected by ONGC to produce the oil, gas and condensate reserves from the area known as Cluster 1 within the NDA. This initial development will consist of the following wells which are located in water depths ranging from 80m to 650m: Well Designation

Additional processing facilities are envisaged on the CPP for the Cluster 1 reserves consisting of 3 stages of separation with associated gas compression prior to commingling with the Cluster 2B gas stream into the TEG dehydration unit for export to the Onshore Gas Terminal at Odalarevu. The Cluster 1 oil production will be exported to the nearby Ravva Terminal via a 6” 25km pipeline. First production from the Cluster 1 fields is currently unknown, however, preliminary sizing will be completed to enable the provision of space to be made on the CPP and LQUP to accommodate this development.

Odalarevu Facilities
There is an existing terminal at Odalarevu, and coordinates for the existing G-1 “straight” 10” export flowline shore crossing is shown in Figure 1.2. Figure 1.2: Odalarevu Terminal and 10” Pipeline Shore Crossing
Note the coordinates are based on Everest 1830, UTM Zone 44.
1.1.2
KG-DWN-98/2 CPP
The KG-DWN-98/2 CPP is envisaged as a shallow water fixed platform (< 100 m) proximal to the existing ONGC fields. The CPP will process well fluid from Cluster 2B Gas fields (R1, U3, U1, and A1) and Cluster 1 Oil (F1, GS-29-6, GS-29-7 and GS-29-10) and Gas fields (D1, E1 and GS-29-5) received through infield subsea pipelines. Process and most utility facilities required will be housed on the CPP, which will be bridge connected to a separate LQUP. Basic facilities envisaged on the CPP are described in subsequent sections of the design basis.

KG-DWN-98/2 LQUP
The KG-DWN-98/2 LQUP will house a 100 people living quarter module along with utility systems. The Living Quarter platform is bridge connected CPP. The platform is constructed as a shallow water fixed platform with cellar deck; LQ building module and switch gear/Emergency Power Generation building module on main deck.

Purpose of Document
The purpose of this document is to define Piping Typical Installation Drawings for the KG-DWN 98/2 Pre-FEED Phase that will comply with ONGC’s best practices for safe and responsible operations.

The international SI systems of unit shall be used except for the following items: Flanges shall be rated in accordance with ASME standards. Ratings shall be expressed dimensionless as used in ASME piping codes (e.g. Class 150, Class 300, etc,). Flange bolting shall be specified as inches diameter x mm length (e.g. 5/8’ dia.
