Picture size A panorama composite image is produced from multiple images so a PC with high specifications is required depending on the CCD camera to be used or the number of images to overlap. When the PC is heavily loaded at the time of panorama composite processing or processing takes time, changing the image size to overlap will lighten the load on the PC. elect the overlapped image size with any radio button of the Picture size field.

Lens calibration tab Fundus images captured by a fundus camera tend to distort, especially in the perimeter due to lens distortion. Thus, the perimeter of a panorama composite may not be correctly formed due to the lens distortion. The panorama software calibrates the lens distortion at the time of mask extraction.
Lens distortion A barrel distortion or a pincushion distortion occurs on images captured through a lens.
Barrel distortion
Pin-cushion distortion
In general, a barrel distortion occurs on fundus images captured via a fundus camera.

{ Output rect type The image extracting method can be selected after the lens distortion is corrected. Select the extracting method with any radio button of the Output rect type field. Outer rect The image is extracted in the circumscribed rectangle after being corrected. The unproductive area is filled in the specified color (“{ Background Color (Page 199)”) * When of mask extraction, the unproductive area is automatically removed.
Inner rect The image is extracted in the inscribed rectangle after being corrected. In contrast to Outer Rect, the unproductive area is not included so mask extraction is easy. However, part of the productive area may be discarded. * Select this type only when there is no problem with discarding the periphery of the image.
Source rect The image is extracted in the original size after being corrected. After the barrel distortion is corrected, an unproductive area is produced. Since the image size becomes larger than the original size, use this type for lightening the load on image processing due to size enlargement. * Select this type only when there is no problem with discarding the periphery of the image. (The discarded area becomes larger than Inner Rect.)
Source rect (Stretch) The image is extracted in the circumscribed rectangle after being corrected, and then reduced to the original size. After the barrel distortion is corrected, an unproductive area is produced. Since the image size becomes larger than the original size, use this type for lightening the load on image processing due to size enlargement. * When of mask extraction, the unproductive area is automatically removed.
{ Parameter Adjust the calibration degree by specifying the correction factor to calibrate the lens distortion. This parameter is set by dragging the slider to the left or right. This parameter is set from -100 to +100. The degree to correct a barrel distortion increases when the parameter is set close to -100. The degree to correct a pincushion distortion increases when the parameter is set close to +100. * When the correction factor is set to 0, no calibration will be made.
{ Background Color The background color of the unproductive area produced after lens calibration is performed can be specified.
