Preface In the blind attack that is made on astrolgoy by scientists, particularly by a Poona based astronomer, it has often been said that in astrology there is no replication and no scientific validity of its techniques can ever be established. His argument is totally irrational and unscientific as the argument of other critics of astrology. They should learn astrology before attacking it on this ground.

Court battles In such an ignorant attack made on astrology even in courts of law, first In Madras later in Hyderabad and finally in the Supreme Court which was decided in favour of astrology on 5 May 2004, almost such an argument was taken, though vaguely. with all such irrational attacks on astrology which appeared in English newspapers, weeklies and dailies, for four years were given annexures. It was a compilation of attakcs on astrology by the irrational elitist classes of India whose claim to distinction Is only their knowledge of English-and lack of common sense. The truth of the matter is that astrological techniques are and have been kept secrets not to allow them to fall into wrong hands. But these days when in the extremely maddening competetive times people face too many tensions, there are astrologers and astrologers who instead of concentrating on guidance, make fortunes through the prescription of costly remedial measures and enrich themselves. If this tendency is attacked and if some of such astrologers are dragged to consumer courts, astrology will get cleansed and reformed.

The Scientific basis of Hindu Astrology To understand the scientific basis of astrology the following factors should be taken into account. 1. Here there is a clear relation between cause and effect but not in a ph)lsical way which is what can never satisfY physical scientists who can never move out of their frong-in-well mentality and approach. Here the cause is invisible but the effect becomes visible when a

question is asked and a prediction is given and the feedback reveals the correctness of a prediction. Z. There is a vastly developed method of preparing the data like the birth horoscopes , fifteen other divisiona( horoscopes , considering yogas and using dashas to tir11e events along with the transit of planets. 3. from ancient times, on the basis of repetetive patterns of some events, statistically valid and replicable techniques have existed which traditional astrologers have learnt. applied but kept them as secrets for reasons best known to them. We will produce some monographs on some different and simple techniques after testing them on hundreds of horoscopes but will keep ourselves confined only one hundred horoscopes as instances. At the end of these horoscopes we will show through tables how validlythese simple techniques work and how valid they are. In each monograph we will define the paramaters being applied which are very simple, uncomplicated and can be tested even by a rank beginner in astrology. Unless such exercises are done no astrologer will be able to convince himself that he is doing a super scientific subject which becomes visible through the simple parameters. The subject of this monograph is ask a person who comes to consult you If HE IS THE YouNGEST CHILD OF HIS PARENfS and test it applying the four simple parameters given. The horoscopes given here are bare horoscopes and even the degrees of planets have not been given.

The aims of this research are1. An astrologer should be able to ascertain if a person is the eldest child of his parents. · Z. This will help verify the correctness of a horoscope and the lagna because when we get horoscopes of people who have some doubt about their birth time or when we get lagnas between two rashis, what is known as sandhi, we can easily fix it through a series of simple rules, out of which this rule will be found helpful as the first ·step. 3. There will be some exceptions to the rules given here. In such cases, there are some additional main rules and supplementary rules which can be applied to see whether they are fitting into the pattern of this ~

WHAT IS GIVEN IN ASTROLOGICAL CLASSICS ? What is given in classics of Hindu jyotish gives us some hints to see about siblings in a horoscope but without every pointing if a child would be the eldest, youngest, only or one of the many in the middle, This becomes a good topic for research as this is a good method of fixing someone's lagna properly and then correct the birth time.

Parashara gives the following hints 1. If the third house has benefics or is aspected by benefics there will be the happiness of siblings. Z. If the third lord and Mars are conjoined by malefics it proves tragic for siblings. 3. If female planets influence the third house there will be sisters and male planets do it there will be brothers. If there are mixed influences there will be both brothers and sisters. 4. If the third lord and Mars are placed in the eighth house and are conjoined or aspected by malefics it proves tragic for siblings. 5. If the third lord and the siblings giving planet (Mars) be in kendra or trikona, in friends' houses or in own vargas there is happiness from siblings. 6. If Mercury is placed in the third house and the third lord is conjoined with Moon and Mars is with Saturn then a sister is born, then a brother and the third one after the native dies. 7. If the lord of the third house is with Rahu there will be no siblings after the native but there will be three elder ones. 8. If the third lord is In a kendra and if Mars is in l

10. !f Moon placed in the third house has the influence of male planets then a brother if by Venus then a sister can be predicted. 11. If Sun is placed in the third house the elder brother dies, if Saturn the younger and if it is Mars both die. 12. If the eleventh lord is In the third house, the native will have siblings Is the only hint given about siblings with respect to the eleventh lord. Note: The useful hints we get here are with regard to Rahu, Mars, Saturn or Sun in the in third house.

My own researches are 1. Rahu in the third house is not favourable for the birth of a younger sibling generally. 2. Rahu in the eleventh house is not favourable for the birth of an elder sibling generally. 3. There are many other researches which will be given at the end of this research.

The Parameters There are many ways of ascertaining if a person is the youngest among siblings but here one and simplest one is being shown to work. For the purpose of this research the rules are divided into two parts: the main rules and the supplementary rules. Main Rules

t.

Examine the third house from the lagna.

2. Examine the third lord from the lagna. and 3. Examine the third house from Mars and finally. 4. Examine the third lord from Mars. See the extent of affliction to these house or lords and their placement to decide, if the individual is the youngest among siblings or not. If three out of these four or all the four points are afflicted or the lords of relevant houses are ill placed, the person is the youngest child of his parents. There are many other main rules which are not being disclosed here. The purpose of this monograph is to help even an astrologer of the beginning level test this and convince himself why astrology is a superscience. There is a confirmatory rule which is not being disclosed here. Supplementary Rules For the purpose of this research only one supplementary rule is being disclosed. If the eleventh lord is in the third house or the third lord in the ele_venth house, chances are the person is the youngest among the siblings.

Which planets cause affliction? The planets which cause affliction are Rahu, Saturn, Mars invariably and Ketu and Sun also in some cases.

A retrograde benefic has a peculiar role and is seen to behave sometimes like a malefic.

· The data used The data used here is contributed by the indivi9U:al participants and each participant is responsible for the accuracy of the data supplied for this collective research. What are we doing in those cases where the horoscopes are identiai or where this research seems to fail is a question which can be anticipated and answered here straight away. We have other rules to cross.check them and produce rigidly controlled tests but invariably in those cases we need correct birth horoscopes with correct birth time. This research can be applied to horoscopes where the lagna is not doubtful but the birth time is Inaccurate even. For the purpose of this research we are not taking the horosq>pes of ONLY CHILD though that wlll be valid data. Explanation In this case must be done by using one more parameters the dreshkona.

to even fourteen. This person belongs to an earlier generation and hails from a place not known to be progressive enough to respond to family planning campaigns of the goverment of India in the earlier era of India independence when he was born.

Now apply the parameters given.· 1. The third house from lagna has Sun which is not favourable for having a younger sibling. Z. The third house from Mars has Sun which is not favourable for having a younger sibling.

Now examine the dreshkona 1. The third house from lagna has Sun aspected by Mars and Saturn which is least favourable for having a younger sibling. Z. The third house from Mars in the dreshkona has Ketu while the third lord, Moon has gone to the sixth house from Mars He is the youngest among nine siblings having eight children above him. He is a rich businessman with two children having planned his family after his marriage in 1981 . Now see the horoscope of his second child a daughter and see the confusion or lack of clarity caused if only the bare horoscope is seen. It is therefore necessary to see in this research why the use of dreshkona chart is necessary. Remember to keep the approach simple, scientific and clear. If that is not done you will not be able to convince yourself that jyotisha is a super scientific subject and there is the element of destiny invariably in humanlife. You had no choice to be born as the eldest or youngest child of your parents.

Daughter of the Previous Example 1. The third lord, Jupiter is retrograde and is ill placed in the twelfth house and is aspected by Saturn which is also retrograde.

Z. From Mars, also retrograde, Jupiter is again the third lord with retrograde Saturn who is aspecting Jupiter.

In Dreshkona 1. The third lord, Mars is in the sixth house with Saturn. Z. From Mars in the dreshkona, Mars himself is the third lord which has Jupiter aspected by Saturn.

She is the younger of two children of her parents, with a brother elder to her. Remember that India is a very complex country where the background of a person has to be kept In the mind. Among the well to do and educated persons of earlier generations the number of children a man had varied between five and fourteen generally. There was no birth control and no family planning. The modern educated generations in cities believe in small family with one or two or at most three children. But in the rural side there is no family planning to such an extent and In some cases it is unknown and unheard of.
