Before rising you may pray to Mother Earth: samudra-vasane devi parvata-stana-mandite vishnu-patni namas tubhyam pada-sparsham kshamasva me "O Mother Earth, I offer my humble obeisances unto you, who are the wife of Lord Vishnu and the residence of the oceans, and who are decorated with mountains. Please forgive me for stepping upon you." 1) Acamana 2) Samanya arghya sthapana 3) Bhuta-nivaranam (om) apagacchantu te bhuta ye bhuta bhuvi samsthitah ye bhuta-vighna-kartaras te gacchanty ajnyaya hareh "May all inauspicious subtle beings that may obstruct our service be gone by the order of the Lord." Chant om astraya phat and strike your left heel on the ground three times to dispel subtle beings from earth. While chanting the mula-mantra of the main Deity you will worship, from the corners of your eyes glance angrily over the paraphernalia and upward. This will dispel subtle beings in the higher realms. realms. Chant om astraya phat and snap the fingers of your right hand over your head in the ten directions to dispel subtle beings in the atmosphere. 4 ) Asana-sthapana Chant om astraya phat and purify the floor by prokshana. Draw a triangular mandala on the floor with water or candana, using the knuckle of your right middle finger. Worship the mandala with flower petals and candana as you chant:
ete gandha-pushpe- om adhara-shaktaye namah om anantaya namah om kurmaya namah Place the asana over the mandala. While touching the asana, chant the viniyoga mantra: (om) asana-mantrasya meru-prishtha rishih sutalam chandah kurmo devata asanabhimantrane viniyogah Holding the hands in the pranama-mudra, chant: prithvi tvaya dhrita loka devi tvam vishnuna dhrita tvam ca dharaya mam nityam pavitram casanam kuru "O Mother Earth, O goddess, you support all the world's people, and Lord Vi\s\nu sustains you; please give your support to me continuously and provide me with a pure seat upon which to sit while worshiping the Lord." Draw a triangle on the asana with water (or just with your knuckle), and then worship this mandala with flower petals and candana while chanting: ete gandha- pushpe – om adhara-shaktaye namah om kamalasanaya namah 5) Patra-sthapana 6) Guru-pankti-namskara Draw the spiritual master's attention by placing flowers before him while chanting: esha pushpanjali -aim gurave namah Then chant: shri-guro paramananda premananda phala-prada vrajananda pradananda sevayam ma niyojaya "My dear spiritual master, who give the fruit of the highest bliss--the bliss of love of Godhead-please engage me in the blissful service of Krishna, who bestows bliss upon the land of Vraja." 7) Kara shuddhi 8) Pushpa-shuddhi
Chant om astraya phat and sprinkle the flowers with samanya-arghya water. Then show the cakraand dhenu-mudras over the flowers. While touching the flowers with the fingers of your right ha nd in the bijakshara-mudra, chant: om pushpe pushpe maha-pushpe su-pushpe pushpa-sambhave pushpe cayavakirne ca hum phat svaha "O flowers, O great and auspicious flowers who have appeared from a budding creeper, may you be purified" (Rg Veda). Then show the matsya-mudra over the flowers. 9) Dravya-shuddhi 10) Atma-shuddhi Sprinkle oneself with water while chanting the Gopala Mantra. 11) Dig bandhanam Chant om astraya phat and strike your left palm three times with your right forefinger and middle finger. Raise your hands as you do this. Show the cakra-mudra, and then snap the fingers of your right hand in the ten directions, beginning from the east and going clockwise. 12 )Vahni prakarana Chant the agni-bija (ram) and meditate on a wall of fire spreading all around and over your head, protecting you and the Deity room from all bad influences. At the same time show the agnibijakshara-mudra. To show this mudra, keep your right index finger straight, clench the remaining fingers of your right hand into a fist, and move your right hand clockwise in a complete circle around your head. 13) Kara-nyasa As you show the nyasa-mudra, chant the gopala-mantra once. Chant klim angushthabhyam namah and move your forefingers along the length of your thumbs, from the bases to the tips. Chant krishnaya tarjanibhyam svaha and move your thumbs along the length of your index fingers, from the bases to the tips. Chant govindaya madhyamabhyam vashat and move your thumbs along the length of your middle fingers, from the bases to the tips. Chant gopijana anamikabhyam hum and move your thumbs along the length of your ring fingers, from the bases to the tips. Chant vallabhaya kanishthikabhyam vaushat and move your thumbs along the length of your little fingers, from the bases to the tips. Chant svaha astraya kara-tala-kara-prishthabhyam phat and touch your right palm to the back of your left hand, then your left palm to the back of your right hand.
14) Anga-nyasa Chant klim hridayaya namah and touch your heart with your right palm. Chant krishnaya shirase svaha and touch the top of your head with the fingertips of your right hand. Chant govindaya shikhayai vashat and touch your shikha with your right fist, thumb pointing down toward your neck. Chant gopiijana kavacaya hum and touch your left upper arm with the fingertips of your right hand and your right upper arm with the fingertips of your left hand. Chant vallabhaya netrabhyam vaushat and touch your eyelids with the middle finger and forefinger of your right hand. Chant svaha astraya phat and snap your fingers three times with your right hand as you move it clockwise around your head. Show the cakra-mudra. 15) Pranayama First, chant the viniyoga mantra: om kama-bijasya prajapati rishih daivi-gayatri chandah shri krishna-caitanyo devata ka-karo bijam la-karo kilakam i-karo shaktih pranayame viniyogah Then one should perform the pranayama nyasa: om kama-bijaya namah prajapati-rishaye namah – (touch head) daivi-gayatri chandase namah – (touch shikha) shri krishna-chaitanya-devatyai namah – (touch face) ka-kara-bijatmamane namah – (touch heart) la-kara kilakatmane namah – (touch right nipple) i-kara shaktyatmane namah – (touch left nipple) pranayama-viniyogaya namah – (touch heart) Chant the kama-bija 16 times inhaling; then 64 times holding the breath and 32 times exhaling. Counting in this way, one should begin by inhaling through the left nostril, blocking the right nostril, holding the breath, and then exhaling through the right nostril, blocking the left. Then one should inhale through the right nostril, hold the breath, and exhale through the left nostril, using the same count. This should be repeated three times. 16) Bhuta-shuddhi
naham vipro na ca nara-patir napi vaishyo na shudro naham varni na ca griha-patir no vanastho yatir va kintu prodyan-nikhila-paramananda-purnamritabdher gopii-bhartuh pada-kamalayor dasa-dasanudasah "I am not a brahmana, I am not a kshatriya, I am not a vaishya or a shudra. Nor am I a brahmacari, a householder, a vanaprastha, or a sannyasi. I identify myself only as the servant of the servant of the servant of the lotus feet of Lord Krishna, the maintainer of the gopis. He is like an ocean of nectar, and He is the cause of universal transcendental bliss. He is always existing with brilliance" (Padyavali 74). 17) Ghanta puja While offering the bell a flower petal dipped in candana, chant: ete gandha-pushpe – om jaya-dhvani-mantra-matah svaha Now fasten the flower petal to the body of the bell with the candana. Then ring the bell briefly with your left hand and replace it on the plate, all the while thinking of the bell as a servant of the Lord. Then chant: sarva-vadya-mayi ghante deva-devasya vallabhe tvam vina naiva sarvesham shubham bhavati shobhane "O beautiful bell so dear to Lord Krishna, the God of gods, you embody the sweet sound of all music. Without you there is no auspiciousness for anyone." agamarthantu devanam gamanarthantu rakshasam | kuru ghantaravam tatra devatavahana lancanam || jnanatho’jnanatovapi kamsya ghantan navadayet | rakshasanam pishacanam taddeshe vasatirbhavet | tasmat sarva prayatnena ghantanadam prakarayet | ghanta devatabhyo namah | sakala pujarthe akshatan samarpayami || 19) Sankha-sthapana / puja With water from the samanya-arghya patra or with candana, draw a small equilateral triangle with one of its angles pointing away from you. Similarly, draw a circle around the triangle and then a square around the circle. Chant om astraya phat and sprinkle the conch stand with samanya-a rghya water. Chant om adhara-shaktaye namah and place the stand on the mandala. Chant om astraya phat and sprinkle the conch with samanya-arghya water. Place the conch on the stand.
Chant om hridayaya namah and place flower petals and candana into the conch. Chant om shirase svaha and pour water from the waterpot into the conch. While offering flowers and candana to the Lord's bathing conch, chant: ete gandha-pushpe- om hum hum hum namah maha-shankhaya svaha One should chant over the shankha three times: om pancajanyaya vidmahe mahodaraya dhimahi tanno shankhah pracodayat nirvishikaranartham takshya mudra pradarshiyami -show Garuda mudra amritikaranartham dhenu mudram pradarshayami –show dhenu mudra pavitrakaranartham shankha mudram pradarshayami - show shankha mudra surakshanartham cakra mudram pradarshayami –show cakra mudra dig bandhanartham gada mudram pradarshayami – show gada mudra around the shankha. Worship the Fire, Sun, and Moon Mandalas (With Their Ten, Twelve and Sixteen Divisions) Situated Within the Stand, Conch, and Water. Chant: ete gandha-pushpe - om mam vahni-mandalaya dasha-kalatmane namah and offer a flower petal dipped in candana to the stand; then afix the petal to the stand. ete gandha-pushpe shankha)

Long ago Lord Vishnu seized you in His hand, and thus all the demigods honor you." tava nadena jimuta vitrasyanti surasurah sa-shankha-yuta-diptabha pancajanya namo 'stu te "O Pancajanya, obeisances unto you, who shine brilliantly like the moon! Your roaring sound ma kes the mountains, clouds, demigods, and demons tremble in fear." garbha devari-narinam vilayante sahasradha tava nadena patale pancajanya namo 'stu te "O Pancajanya, obeisances unto you! Your roaring sound shatters into thousands of pieces the wombs of the demons' wives living in the lower planets."

shri krishnarpanamastu 20 ) Vishesha-arghya-sthapana Purify the bathing water with samanya-arghya water and mudras. Then call the Lord into the water with the avahana mudras. Then perform gopala-nyasa on the water and worship with 5 upacaras. 21 ) Pitha-puja With candana, draw a lotus-shaped mandala on the pitha, the place where the Lord will stand for bathing. Then (again with candana) write in the center of the mandala the bija syllable of the mulamantra of the Deity being worshiped (use Devanagari script if possible). 22) Sankalpa One should recite the following sankalpa: om govinda govinda govinda om tat sat
adya________ mase ________ tithau ________ pakshe shri guru-gauranga gandharvika-giridhari sudarshana salagrama puja karishye He should then throw flower petals in the NE direction. om tad vishnoh paramam padam sada pashyanti surayah diviva cakshur atatam “Just as those with ordinary vision see the sun’s rays in the sky, so the wise and learned devotees always see the supreme abode of Lord Vishnu. Because those highly praiseworthy and spiritually awake brahmanas can see that abode, they can also reveal it to others.” (Sama Veda) 23) Svasti-vacana yam brahma vedanta-vido vadanti pare pradhanam purusham tathanye vishvad gateh karanam-ishvaram va tasmai namo vighna-vinashanaya “Obeisances unto Him who is the destroyer of all obstacles, who the knowers of Vedanta describe as the Supreme Brahman, and who others describe as the pradhana, or totality of mundane elements. Some describe Him as the Supreme Male Person, or Purusha, while others describe Him as the Supreme Lord and the cause of the creation of the universe.” (Brihad Vishnu Purana) om krishno vai sac-cid-ananda-ghanah krishna adi purushah krishnah purushottamah krishno ha u karmadi mulam krishnah saha sarvai-karyah krishna kasham krid-adisha mukha-prabhu-pujyah krishno nadis-tasmin-ajandantar bahye yam-mangalam tal-labhate kriti “Lord Krishna is the color of a new rain-cloud, therefore He is compared to a transcendental cloud full of eternity, bliss and cognizance. He is the original and Supreme Person. He is the origin of all activities and the one and only Lord of all. He is the worshipful Lord of the best of demigods, the controller of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Krishna is without any beginning. May Garuda and the son of Anjana, who is the great devotee of Lord Rama, Hanuman, bestow auspiciousness upon us. Simply by saying the name of Vishnu or by remembering Krishna all obstacles are destroyed and all auspiciousness comes. It is the highest auspiciousness for mankind. There is no other way.” (Padma Purana) pundarikaksha govinda madhavadimsh ca yah smaret tasya syan-mangalam sarvakarmadau vighna-nashanam “He who remembers all the forms of the Lord such as Pundarikaksha, Govinda and Madhava, will attain all auspiciousness and destruction of all obstacles in all his activities.” (Vishnu Dharmottara) mangalayatanam krishnam govindam garuda-dhvajam madhavam pundarikaksham vishnum narayanam harim vasudevam jagannatham acyutam madhusudanam tatha mukundanantadin yah smaret prathamam sudhih karta sarvatra sutaram mangalananta karmanah “The intelligent man who first remembers the various forms of the Lord and his pastimes before performing his activities, will attain infinite auspiciousness in all that he does.” (Rudra Yamala) 24 ) Vishvaksena aradhanam One should worship Lord Vishvaksena with the following mantras: om shuklambara-dharam vishnum shashi-varanam catur-bhujam
prasanna-vadanam dhyayet sarva-vighno-pashantaye “For the removal of all obstacles, I meditate upon Vishvaksena, who wears white cloth, who is the colour of the moon, who has four arms and a peaceful expression on his face.” yasya dvirada vaktra-dyah parishadyah parash-shatam vighnam nighnanti satatam vishvaksenam tam ashraye "I take refuge of the plenary portion of the Personality of Godhead, Lord Vishvaksena, the elephant faced one, the leader of the assembly. It is He who constantly destroys all obstacles." esha pushpanjali – om vishvaksenaya namah esha gandhah – om vishvaksenaya namah etani pushpani – om vishvaksenaya namah esha dhupah – om vishvaksenaya namah esha dipah – om vishvaksenaya namah idam naivedyam - om vishvaksenaya namah vande vaikuntha senanyam devam sutravati sakham yadvetra sikhara spande vishvam yetad vyavasthitam “I offer my obeisances to Vishvaksena, the consort of Sutravathi and the Commander-in-Chief of the army of Vaikuntha. 25 ) Guru puja One should recite the dhyanam prayers for the spiritual master: pratah shriman-navadvipe dvi-netram dvi-bhujam gurum varabhaya-pradam shantam smaret tan-nama-purvakam
"In the morning, in Navadvipa, one should remember the spiritual master as having two eyes and two arms, as being peaceful, and as bestowing all benediction and fearlessness upon one who chants his name." Worship the guru with upacaras. Offer respects, glorification and obeisances (pranama): Chant the guru-mula-mantra and guru-gayatri silently ten times each. Then recite the Guru-stuti: tvam gopika vrisharaves tanayantike 'si sevadhikarini guro nija-pada-padme dasyam pradaya kuru mam vraja-kanane shriradhanghri-sevana-rase sukhinim sukhabdhau "O beloved spiritual master, you are always in the presence of the cowherd girl Radha, the daughter of King Vrishabhanu. Please award me service at your lotus feet, which are the proprietors of devotional service. Please place me in the ocean of joy by bestowing upon me happiness in the mellows of service at the lotus feet of Radha in the groves of Vraja-dhama." Being entirely nondifferent from Shri Vrindavana, it is completely different from the material world, consisting of the three planetary systems. Situated on the beautiful banks of the Ganges, Navadvipa is covered by lovely groves and gardens, and it appears like the back of a gigantic turtle. That holy dhama is filled with many great palatial houses made of gold and bedecked with brilliant jewels, and in those houses devotees are always performing krishna-samkirtana in the mellow of ecstatic love." "I worship Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who is being served by all His devotees and associates, whose hair is bound with strings of pearls, and whose moonlike face bears the nectar of His gentle smile. His beautiful golden body is adorned with lovely garments, anointed with sandalwood and aguru pulp, and bedecked with garlands and various glistening ornaments. He is extremely charming, absorbed as He is in enjoying the sweet mellows of dancing, and His dress is more splendid than even Cupid's." Meditate on offering Lord Chaitanya sixteen, ten, or five upacaras. Chant the gaura-mula-mantra and the gaura-gayatri silently ten times each. Offer respects, glorification and obeisances chanting: dhyeyam sada paribhava-ghnam abhishta-dohamm tirthaspadam shiva-virinci-nutam sharanyam bhrityarti-ham pranata-pala bhavabdhi-potam vande maha-purusha te caranaravindam "O Supreme Personality of Godhead, O protector of the surrendered souls, You are now playing the role of Your own devotee, and Your lotus feet are the only object of perpetual meditation for the pure living entities. They destroy the material existence of the living entity. They are the fulfiller of all desires, the abode of all holy places, worshipable even by Lord Brahma and Lord Siva, the shelter of all that exists, the destroyer of the troubles of Your devotees and the only boat for crossing over the ocean of material existence. esha dipah – om sahasrara hum phat klim krishnaya govindaya gopijanavallabhaya svaha om su-prakasho amha-tejah sarvatas timirapahah sa-bahyabhyantara-jyotir dipo’yam pratigrihyatam “Please accept this brilliant lamp, which removes all darkness, both within and without.” Purifying the bhoga *Chant om astraya phat and sprinkle the bhoga with vishesha-arghya water. *Show the cakra-mudra. *Take some water in your right hand and chant yam (the vayu-bija) into it twelve times. *Sprinkle the water over the bhoga while meditating on drying up any faults the food may have. *Showing the bijakshara-mudra, meditate on ram (the agni-bija) in your right palm and then "pour" it over the bhoga to burn up the faults. *Showing the bijakshara-mudra, meditate on tham (the amrita-bija) in your left palm and then "pour" it over the bhoga. *Showing the dhenu-mudra, meditate on the food as amrita. *Chant the Deity mula-mantra eight times into some water in your right palm, and then sprinkle the water on the bhoga. *Again chant the mula-mantra over the bhoga while showing the bijakshara-mudra; then protect the bhoga with the matsya-mudra.
