Standard Initiation Initiation Rites Procedure Procedure
ENTRY TO THE FRATERNITY Any person who believes in the the Triskelion Principles Principles and who meets meets the following requirements is eligible for membership: membership: 1. Homosexual persons shall be banned from entry to the fraternity; 2. He MUST be of Good Moral Character; Character; a. He must not be convicted of any Criminal Act/s b. He must not not be a drug trafficker and/or and/or drug dependent dependent 3. He MUST be at least 18 years of age for School and Community Based Chapters. 4.He MUST be mentally and physically fit, supported by medical certificate under oath. The aspirants fitness may be tested preliminarily by the evaluating chapter by administering administering PHYSICAL P HYSICAL FITNESS TEST; 5. He MUST qualify and accomplish all membership requirements; 6. He MUST be SPONSORED by any active member of the Chapter; 7. He MUST not be a member of any fraternity or organization, specially those with actions and purposes that are contrary to the Principles of the TAU GAMMA PHI; 8. All aspirants will undergo basic background screening for Chapter deliberation. The Master Triskelion for Membership and Organization or his duly authorized representative representative shall conduct the said Background check. 9. The aspirant will submit the following documents to the chapter: a. Duly Accomplished Official National Application Approved by the National Council b. Barangay Clearance Clearance
c. Medical Certificate d. Police Clearance e. Photocopy of Birth Certificate (Original copy of Birth Certificate shall be presented for validation purposes). BAPTISMAL RITES The Deputy Grand Triskelion and the Master Wielder of the whip are the only authorized Chapter Officers to render the Baptismal Rites with the consent of the Grand Triskelion, in case of latter’s absence.
BAPTISMAL BLESSING “BY THE VIRTUE OF POWER VESTED UPON ME AS ‘GT, DGT AND/OR MWW’ OF THE TAU GAMMA PHI ___________________ CHAPTER,_______________________ COUNCIL, I BAPTIZED YOU ALEXIS, ____________________________ FULL NAME, ________________ ALIAS” After rendering the baptismal blessing to the applicant, The GT/DGT/ MWW will give the Six (6) traditional slaps as follows: 1. I LOVE TAU = 1 slap 2. I LOVE GAMMA = 1 slap 3. I LOVE PHI = 1 slap 4. I LOVE TAU GAMMA PHI = 1 slap 5. I LOVE TAU GAMMA SIGMA = 1 slap 6. I LOVE ____ CHAPTER = 1 slap The applicant shall recite each of the 6 traditional slap. The administering officer shall render the slap after thenapplicant recites. e.g. I Love Tau (Slap) During the rendering of the 6 traditional slaps, the applicant should be blindfolded and in a kneeling position. The slaps shall be administered utilizing only the fingers of the right and left hand at 45 degree angle. The palm should not touch the left or right cheek of the applicant. The slaps should only hit the right and left cheek, not touching the ears and mouth. The applicant and the authorized Chapter Officer rendering the six (6) traditional slaps shall not wear jewelry/mouth piece. i.e. ring, watch, bracelet, necklace, earings, false teeth. The baptismal rights should be done solemnly in a secured venue/location.
After Baptismal Rights all alexis MUST be briefed on the proper protocol in the duration of his service and therefore be prohibited from the following: 1. Smoking, Drinking alcoholic beverages and use consumption of any harmful, dangerous drugs or substances. 2. Wearing jewelry and other unnecessary body accessories; 3. Having eye to eye contact with any Triskelion unless given pernmissions; 4. No amount of money should be collected from the Alexis, Likewise the alexis shall not spend their own money for their masters; and 5. Other protocol procedures that the Grand Triskelion and/or the Master Wielder of the Whip may require. 6. The ALEXIS shall address the following Triskelion as: a. Four Founding Fathers = Lord High b. GT’s, MDG’s, Chapter Founders,City/Municipal Chairmen, Provincial Governor Generals,Regional Secretary Generals, National Premier = lord c. Members= master The Chapter shall be required to submit a copy of the application form and present the ALEXIS physically to the immediate existing higher echelon of the fraternity. REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION: An Alexis must secure a tickler which shall serve as a kind of transcript of records where all accomplished requirements and missions are being recorded countersigned by the chapter’s Grand Triskelion. Alexis shall be qualified for graduation provided that the he accomplished the following requirements: 1. Three hundred (300) Points personal service to Masters: - An alexis can only earn a maximum of ten (10) points per service from one Master. - Points shall be recorded on the Tickler of the Allexis to be filled up by the Concerned masters. - Alexis MUST accomplish the said three hundred(300) points within a minimum Thirty (30) Days and a maximum of forty five (45) days of service. 2. Only one day of home service per active Triskelion or resident in good standing; 3. One fund raising project, each alexis must be able to submit any of the following fund raising items to be monitored by the Master Triskelion for Special Projects and Budget and Finance i.e. One Hundred (100) pieces of Tin Can Tips; Fifty (50) pieces sellable
bottles; Twenty Four(24)-ince high of old newspaper.
GRADUATION RITES: Standard of Paddle Paddles should be made of wood. Hitting surface has No Varnish, No paint. No Decorative Carvings or Fraternity Seal both sides. Fiber glass is illegal. Standard size of paddle is 40”length, Thickness = 3/4”,width = 4”. Preparatory Requirements 1. There should be a Nurse Present with First Aid 2. The City/Municipal/Provincial Council shall be informed of the date at least three 3 days before graduation dates, Alexis details and venue of the graduation stages. 3. Blindfolds of the Alexis may be removed during graduation stage provided, that the Alexis do not see the faces of the masters during the graduation stages. 4. The graduation stages should be done solemnly in a secured venue/location. Prohibitions 1. No Sando, No Shorts, No Frat shirts, No camera 2. Strictly no taking of Pictures and Video coverage 3. No SMOKING, Drinking Alcoholic Beverages, and use /consumption of any harmful, Dangerous Drugs or substances. 4. Wearing jewelry and other unnecessary body accessories; 5. Other protocol procedures that the Grand Triskelion and/or the Master Wielder of the Whip may require. PARTICIPATION OF OTHER TRISKELION DURING GRADUATION RITES 1. It will be the digression of the Master Wielder of the Whip on who may participate during the graduation stages weather chapter members or members from visiting chapters (whether it be Sigma or Phi). 2. Only members from the concerned chapter may be allowed to administer Graduation
Stages. THE GRADUATION STAGES 1. Skin to skin policy; 2. Paddle hits intentionally hitting one point of either the back and front side of the authorized leg area should be avoided. 3. PLEDGE Member of the TAU GAMMA PHI and shall have the following Privileges and Responsibilities: 1. Execute handshake to fellow FULL PLEDGE Members; 2. Submit proposals on the Projects and Programs Beneficial to the Fraternity; 3. All Rights and Privileges stated in the National Constitution CONSTITUTION of TAU GAMMA PHI; and 4. Duties and Responsibilities According to the CONSTITUTION AND LOCAL COUNCIL CODES.
WELCOME RITES PROCEDURE: 1. SIX (6) TRADITIONALS (SIX ‘6’ WHIPS) 2. GRAND TRISKELION PADDLE (ONE ‘1’ WHIP) 3. FOUNDATION DATE OF LOCAL CHAPTER (ONE ‘1’ WHIP) 4. LOCAL CHAPTER’S FOUNDERS (THREE ‘4’ WHIPS) REQUIREMENTS: 1. Endorsement letter from Grand Triskelion of Origin Chapter 2. Recitation of the Tenets and Codes of Conduct SUBJECTION: 1. Subjection should be after Six (6) Months of Monitoring and Orientation; 2. Subjection is Optional but highly encouraged specially to those holding positions in the Chapter of Councils. 3. No Subjection shall be administered by the Subjector or Subjectee under the influence of liquor or drugs 4. NO SELF-INFLICTION OF SUBJECTION 5. Only those with subjections may administer subjections. 6.
