A PROPOSAL Research the Future Technology In Wireless Communication

Introduction Imagine yourself in a place without internet connection, and you want to turn on the light in your room, so you can connect with internet, browse your Email, watch YouTube, and download your files in a speed reaches 1 Gigabyte in 1 second !. As we moved from the stage of the wired communication, to the stage of wireless communication, which is fast and almost used at every single side of human life. The most common wireless technologies used is Wi-Fi or Wireless Fidelity, such as radio. Here in the era of speed the need for a new generation of wireless communication is great, to keep up with the rapid increasingly demand on data transmission. The proposed review will discuss that new generation of wireless communication, called Li-Fi or Light Fidelity. This proposal includes my methods for gathering information, a schedule for completing the review, and my qualifications.
Statement of problem Wi-Fi technology cannot handle the huge demand on data transmission because it depends on the electromagnetic waves that have less spectrum to transfer data stream. Li-Fi technology depends on the Visible Light Communication (VLC) as a carrier. The operational procedure is simple; when the LED is on, we transmit a digital one, if off we transmit a zero. The LED is switching on and off so quickly that human eye cannot notice, and this form a bit stream then decoding by a receiver. Here I have four issues in comparison with Wi-Fi:
1- Capacity: Li-Fi provides much larger capacity in transmitting bit streams, because of the spectrum of visible light is greater than the s pectrum of electromagnetic waves by 10,000 times, and this allows to transmit bit streams in huge amount and in parallel connections. 2- Efficiency:
1.4 million Cellular radio base stations consume high energy, the most of it used to cool the base station, and the efficiency of the base station is only about 5%. 3- Availability: Some areas of work we cannot use the Wi-Fi service like in airplanes and hospitals for security issues and devices sensitivity. 4- Security: Radio wave penetrates through walls, and they can spyware, so, information could be in danger. 5- No more costs: Using Li-Fi, we do not have to construct new stations of Wi-Fi, because the billions of light bulbs can be a stand-alone boosting base station.
Limitations This technology has some limitations represented in that we have to turn on the lights always to continue receiving the internet signal, but in fact, we can overcome this issue by dim the light at midday and receive a slower connection speed. At night, the lights are always on.
My approach This technology will accomplish by using lighting sources at everywhere and combine with those lights a microchip to form data flow, even if you want to send a high definition video stream, the source will send it easily with the speed of light and to the deepest point on earth. Applications for Li-Fi are important such as traffic update, GPS service, undersea explorations, electronic devices in hospitals and television interaction.
