Hydro Testing Procedure
1. Scope
This work work instructions instructions applicable applicable for Hydro Hydro Testing Testing of liquid petroleum petroleum gas (LPG) pipe pipe line line system.
Project Engineer/Quality Engineer & Site supervisor are responsible for below mentioned descriptions prior to Hydro test including all necessary safety items.
Supplying of any equipment/accessories needed.
Ensuring that punched checklist items are cleared & no any constructions on going.
Implementation of Hydro testing as per approved procedure.
Monitoring of behavior and post cleaning of the tank.
Safety related pre-cautions & necessary allocations.
Ensure that all mechanical fabrications and installations have been completed, & no remaining scope related to the Test piece. All welding seams of the LPG pipes shall be free from paint, grease, oil etc which may hinder any leak during the test. Any fitting (pressure gauges, relief valves, level sensors, Pressure switches, etc.) shall not be fitted to directly to the Test portion and those shall be blanked using blind flanges or dually isolated from the system . Original packing/ bolts shall not be used for blanking of flanges. Make sure to check the all gauges are dually calibrated & the tags are in place. There should be continuous supervision/monitoring of the FP pipe line from the start of filling and complete releasing of pressure after testing. Movement of people around the location should be minimized during filling/pressurizing and only authorized personnel should be allowed for inspection. There should be a notice/warning signs indicating status of the pipe line and should be available in languages understood by all personnel in the area. If there is any indication of movement shell of lines, Filling/pressurizing must be haltered. 4.2
Filling & Pressurising
Fill the water in to the pre-prepared piping system between the pre-agreed points where the pressure test perform. Make sure to isolate all necessary accessories mentioned in 4.2. Then pressurized the system by using pressure pump. Max. Pressure will be 20 Bar. Working pressure will be 5-6 bar. That will last for 24 hrs & the readings will be noted within 2 hrs period.
Pressure should read from gauge mounted on pump. If there any pressure drops, Pipe line inspection will be commenced. Once the defected joint identified, the rectification will be commenced. After completion the rectification, entire procedure will be resumed. Measurements & the time will be recorded. Releasing of pressure should be done gradually through the vent.

Report
After successfully completion of the test, a report will be issued b y the QA & QC Department of LAUGFS engineering.
