BAB I PENDAHULUAN 1.1 Latar Belakang Di dalam ilmu hidrogeologi dikenal suatu istilah debit dan debit aliran. Debit merupakan suatu koefisien yang menyatakan banyaknya air yang mengalir dari suatu sumber setiap satuan waktu tertentu. Sedangkan debit aliran merupakan suatu laju aliran air dalam bentuk volume yang melewati suatu penampang melintang sungai per satuan waktu (Asdak, 2002). Debit yang dinyatakan dalam satuan volume per waktu (m 3/s) tersebut sangat berguna untuk kepentingan analisa dan penelitian. Data debit aliran tersebut dapat menjadi suatu informasi yang sangat penting untuk keperluan pengelolaan sumber daya air. Data debit yang besar dapat digunakan untuk perancangan bangunan pengendali banjir. Sedangkan data debit yang kecil dapat digunakan untuk perencanaan pemanfaatan air untuk keperluan sehari-hari dan pertanian pada saat musim kemarau panjang. Data debit aliran rata-rata tahunan nantinya juga dapat digunakan untuk memberikan gambaran dari potensi sumber daya air yang akan dimanfaatkan oleh suatu daerah aliran sungai. Oleh karena itu, debit sungai dapat digunakan sebagai alat untuk memonitor dan mengevaluasi neraca air suatu kawasan melalui pendekatan potensi sumber daya air permukaan yang ada (Suwandi,2000).
1.2 Maksud dan Tujuan Maksud dari pembuatan laporan ini adalah untuk menerapkan dan mempraktikan ilmu yang telah diajarkan di laboratorium mengenai pengukuran debit aliran dengan menggunakan metode Float metode Float dan dan Current Meter . BAB II DASAR TEORI 2.1 Dasar Pengukuran Debit Kecepatan aliran adalah jarak yang mampu ditempuh oleh partikel zat cair dalam satuan waktu tertentu, Sedangkan debit adalah volume air yang melalui penampang melintang aliran tiap detik , atau volume aliran yang mengalir pada penampang basah persatuan waktu (Umar, 2008). Debit menggambarkan banyaknya volume air melewati suatu luasan dalam satuan waktu. Debit memiliki satuan secara umum volume/waktu, biasanya m 3/s, gallon/hari, m3/hari, dan lain sebagainya. Pada sungai, debit dicari dengan menghitung kecepatan aliran pada sungai tersebut, dan menghitung luasan penampang sungai yang tegak lurus dengan alirannya. Luas penampang diukur dengan mencari lebar dan kedalaman sungai, kemudian didekati dengan model-model segitiga, persegi panjang, atau trapesium, ata u dengan metode lain. Kecepatan aliran diukur dengan berbagai macam cara, beberapa diantaranya seperti yang dijelaskan dibawah ini.

2.3 Metode Current Meter Metode ini menggunakan alat yang berupa current meter. Alat ini menggunakan baling baling yang akan dibaca seberapa cepat berputar. Kecepatan berputar baling baling, kemudian dikonversi oleh alat menjadi kecepatan aliran air. Dalam konversi ti, alat harus sudah dikalibrasi di laboratorium. Alat ini cukup mudah dan praktis digunakan, serta lebih akurat karena dapat dilakukan didalam tubuh aliran air. Keunggulan current meter Alat ini dilengkapi dengan counter, yang menunjukkan jumlah putaran baling baling. Alat ini banyak dipergunakan karena mudah dioperasikan untuk pengukuran kecepatan aliran sungai untuk berbagai kedalaman. Selain itu untuk berbagai kondisi lapangan, dapat dioperasikan langsung dengan memegang stangnya atau untuk kondisi yang tidak memungkinkan alat dapat diturunkan dengan kabel/batang, pada dasarnya cara kerjanya sama hanya untuk cara kalibrasinya berbeda (kalibrasi stang dan kalibrasi bandul).

BAB III PEMBAHASAN loat 3.1 Metode F loat Pengukuran debit aliran dengan menggunakan metode float, maka langkah yang perlu dilakukan adalah melakukan pengukuran panjang dan lebar sungai yang akan dihitung debitnya dengan menggunakan meteran. Selanjutnya lebar sungai dibagi ke dalam tiga segmen yaitu kanan, tengah dan kiri. Pada masing-masing segmen tersebut dilakukan dua kali pengukuran kecepatan aliran permukaan sungai dengan menggunakan bola pingpong. pingpong. Bola pingpong pada awalnya di di letakan pada batas hulu sungai sungai yang akan diukur, kemudian hitung waktu yang dibutuhkan bola pingpong tersebut untuk mengapung sampai pada batas jarak hilir dari sungai yang akan diukur (dalam pengukuran ini adalah 12 m). Setelah pengukuran selesai dilakukan, data-data yang diukur dihitung dengan menggunakan rumus sehingga didapatkan hasil berupa kecepatan aliran sungai, luas penampang dan debit aliran sungai.
