1. In Russian even surnames have they masculine and feminine form. All surnames in the table are in the masculine form, the ones that don't end with a vowel can become feminine by adding: for married women for unmarried young women (unless the surname ends with , then you add only ) for married or unmarried old women (remember that at the time "old" meant above 35 usually). If the surname ends with you replace the vowel preceding it with and add , i.e. Yegorchev becomes Yegorchova. All the others (those ending with a vowel) can become feminine by replacing the last vowel with the above suffixes.
