Understanding Satanic Voodoo
As I stated in my introduction, this is not a book about the history or the culture of voodoo, there already exists plenty of books on this subject. We will not cover the benevolent loa here, but the abysmal and wrathful loa. A background in Voodoo should be established before venturing out into the dark side of satanic voodoo. Try working with easier spirits before invoking the ones discussed later. Here is a basic refresher of voodoo. The spirits are called loa. They are not gods even though the term god is used from time to time. This is used as a term of respect to the loa. The loa are divided up into nations. The Rada is the good side of voodoo. The Petro is the evil spirits of voodoo. The Ghede are the loud, crude and mischievous unclaimed dead. In voodoo the dark side is the darkest sorcery that exists. The loa which controls the evil aspects of voodoo is Kalfu. We will discuss this wrathful god later. The Rada are working with creation, working alongside the demiurge on making the rules and keep life going whereas the Petro are the destructive, anti-cosmic forces of total anarchy bent on destruction of the created world. The Barons rule the Ghede. They rule death and cemeteries. From Baron Samedie to Baron La Croix to Baron Cemetiere Boumba, they all control the forces of the dead. They are vital components in necromancy. The priest of voodoo is known as a houngan, the priestess is a mambo. Those who practice the dark side of voodoo are called bokors. All voodoo priests must be sorcerers, but not all are bokors. The loa are spirits that require offerings of simple things like food and tobacco to remind them of the living world, but that is not to say you will not get your hands bloody in sacrifice. Sacrifice has always been prominent in the voodoo religion. The loa are not to be ignored. They demand attention and should never be ignored. A loa may come to you in a dream or vision with a task. It is highly advised that you follow through with the task, no matter how difficult or cruel it may be. They are hard working forces in nature, acausal beings that must be fed, and as you work with the darker loa in voodoo you will learn just how unforgiving they can be. Now we come to satanic voodoo. This book was written for the Gnostic Satanist to use so the darkest aspects of voodoo have been blended with this extreme form of Satanism, making a perfect blend of black sorcery. Gnosticism fits well into voodoo. For instance, as gnostic Satanists we accept that there is a spirit (azoth) and an ego. The spirit belongs to the acausal, unmanifested world and is eternal. It is our consciousness whereas the ego dies and a new ego is attached to the Azoth upon rebirth. In voodoo there is the ti bon ange (spirit) and the gros bon ange (ego). It is taught that the ti bon ange leave the body during sleep and returns upon awakening. If a person is not reborn the ti bon ange is said to return to the underworld of the minds, Dahome, or the unmanifested universe in Gnosticism. It is said that here the ti bon ange becomes one with the forefathers, or the acausal beings of Gnosticism. Damballah, the serpent loa, is a primordial spirit whom holds all knowledge. He is the holder of Gnosis, that which all Gnostics strive to achieve. Damballah is the renewing and eternal, the original power of chaos which existed before creation. Although a Rada spirit, he is vital in Satanic voodoo.
2
Like the Gnostics, voodoo believes in reincarnation. They either become reborn or join the ranks of the loa. In Gnosticism we strive to prevent rebirth and join the acausal beings of the unmanifested universe. The purpose of a ritual is to contact a loa. Often this is done through invocation in which the ti bon ange leaves the body and the loa takes over. This could possession might last hours or even days. When a person returns to their body they remember nothing. This is not just for the Houngan or manbo or even the bokor, but it is for all and at any time any one can become possessed. The possession is welcomed. There is an exchange of personality in which that of the practitioner is replaced with that of the spirit invoked. The possessed with behave quite differently. They might speak in a different voice, have different facial expressions, manners or even physical attributes. The possessed will possess the ability to see the future. They might know the answers to questions the normal person couldn’t answer, possess secrets no human could know. They might speak a language that the practitioner being possessed doesn’t speak or know. The possessed may exhibit unusual strength. A feeble old man might suddenly run around the room with two young girls upon his shoulders. A woman may handle a hot iron without feeling pain. A man may eat glass without any injuries to himself. Often the loa exhibit strong sexuality. They will act with lurid behaviors, dance erotically or maybe even masturbate or try to have sex with other people present. Often when a practitioner is “mounted” by a loa they will initially go into a seizure fit and convulse. As this seizure wears off we see the personality switch suddenly. The loa might make the practitioner cut themselves with machetes, rub hot peppers in their eyes, put their arms in boiling oil or other self destructive behaviors. When the loa are angry they often punish us with illness to the practitioner or his family. They will often use “bad luck” as a means to get your attention so you correct what has offended them. There is a misconception that in order to work with the loa a practitioner must be properly initiated into voodoo through a priest. The loa demand devotion and as long as you give them this they will work with you. Some thing they refuse to work with white people. This is also wrong for I know many white people who serve the loa. If you are ready you are about to embark on a journey of extreme darkness. The abysmal spirits have no mercy. Use the loa discussed in this book to discover other loa. How deep you go is up to you.

The Altar An altar is the centerpiece of which all your voodoo rituals will take place. It’s an inviting home space and shows your devotion to the loa. The altar can be as simple as a small table in which it will be divided into three sections for the Rada, Petro and Ghede. When creating a Satanic voodoo altar the Petro are vital and the Ghede can be quite useful however there are certain Rada spirits we still must work with such as Legba and Damballah. The Ghede section is optional but i recommend having a section devoted to the unclaimed dead. It is vital if you wish to work in necromancy with Papa Ghede. We shall begin with the Rada side of the altar. You need a white cloth laid down upon the surface. Add a white candle in the center. Next to this candle to the left a bottle of rum and to the right a glass of water. Behind the candle add a bottle of Florida Water. In front of the candle place down cigars. Incorporate the Veve of Papa Legba upon this side.
Veve of Papa Legba
On the Petro side lay down a red cloth. Add a red candle in the center. On the left side add a bottle of rum and on the right side a glass of water. Behind the candle add a bottle of Florida Water. In front of the candle lay down cigars. You lay also want to place weapons upon the Petro side such as knives or even a machete if your altar is big enough. Incorporate the veve for Kalfu.
4
Veve for Kalfu
If you decide to make a Ghede altar it will be located in the space below the table top (the floor is fine). The reason for this is that the loa do not like the smell of the dead. The cloth laid down should be either black or purple. In the center is a black candle. To the left side is a bottle of rum, and to the right a glass of water. Behind the candle place a bottle of Florida Water. In the front of the candle place cigars. You should also place animal and/or human bones, graveyard dust, pieces of gravestones, and images of death like skulls or skeletons (replicas are fine). You should also include a pair or two of black sunglasses for the living world is too bright for the Ghede. You should incorporate the veve for Baron Samedi.
5
Veve for Baro n Samedi
Finally the last vital component to add to your altar is a cross. It can be a crucifix or a cross standing upright or laying down in the center between the Rada and Petro side of the altar. Anything else you wish to add to your altar such as dolls or statues is up to you. Care should be given to your altar. Always keep up on it. Stagnant water will attract unwanted spirits. All food offerings should be properly disposed of. Flowers should be given but do not let them die, change regularly. Use the appropriate color with the appropriate nation. Take pride in your altar. Typically Petro working are done outside away from spectators, however, they still can be served indoors. The Ghede should be worked with in cemeteries, but again may be inside if necessary. Other objects which can be brought to a ritual are machetes, obsidian knives for sacrifices, whips, drums (or a music track with voodoo drumming) and items to make fire.
6
The Devil of Left Hand Voodoo In left hand voodoo, or Satanic voodoo, the almighty god of dark magic is Met Carrefour, also known as Maitre Carrefour, Met Kalfu or simply Kalfu. His correspondence in Gnostic Satanism is the great adversary of the Demiurge, Satan. As a loa he is sinister and violent. He rules the Crossroads with Legba, but here he controls the dark side of it. He appears as a devilish figure with horns and a pitchfork, other times as a young man. All forms of dark sorcery involving voodoo must pass from the acausal (spirit world) to the causal (material world), thus it must pass through the Crossroads. Since Kalfu controls this he controls all sorceries and they must pass through him. He is the master of sorcery and charms. He can open wide the Crossroads to bring a person death or hex them. He is the mighty director of sorceries cast by the bokor. He is the dark twin of Legba, which corresponds to Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu. He brings anarchy, plague and chaos into the world. He is devoted to destroying the causal world, creation and cosmic order. He is ruler of the sinister spirits of night. Your journey into Satanic Voodoo begins with Kalfu.
7
Loa There are many dark spirits of Voodoo, here are some of the more prominent ones to be used in Satanic Voodoo.
LEGBA
Although a Rada, Legba is the first called in a service, allowing the practitioner to view the spiritual world. He is the gate keeper and he allows speaking with other loa. The loa of Voodoo will not defy Legba by revealing themselves without first going through Legba. He is the loa of the crossroads and controls the crossing from this world into the other. He holds the keys to the spiritual world. Legba appears as a frail old man, but do not be fooled for he is powerful. He smokes tobacco from a pipe and carries food in his sack. His entire body is covered in sores which bleed. When he mounts a practitioner that person’s limbs contort in horrible ways. His symbol is the sun and his colors are yellow and green. He is the husband of Aiyzan and Ezili. He is the son of Oshun.

Kalfu is the dark twin of Legba. He also has control of the crossroads. Legba and Kalfu stand on opposite sides of the crossroads. Kalfu controls the in-between points of the crossroads. He is the adversary and brings darkness into the world. He is the loa of chaos and brings anarchy to disrupt the flow of order. He controls the evil spirits and leads them. He brings great misfortune, injustice and hexes. He is the loa of destruction. He controls the evil spirits of the night. When Kalfu mounts a practitioner the entire room chants to radiate the energy. They dance wildly as the drum beat increases velocity. This is a summoning of the evil spirits. When being ridden by Kalfu, the practitioner is often stricken with black, weeping eyes, swollen muscles, and a need to show off how tall and strong they are. The most important loa know him and work with him. He is the master of charms, sigils and black witchcraft. Because Kalfu is a lone wolf among the loa who comes alone but the dark spirits behind him can be felt peering into the soul of the practitioner. He is the preacher who prostitutes in the moonlight and the drug dealer who gives wisdom and understanding at the stake of addiction. His power can seem overwhelming and the practitioner is never fully satisfied, always seeking more. He is the loa of great ambition which sometimes leads to murderous rage. Many devoted followers live a life of crime, engaging in any type of sinister act to appease the dark loa. He appears as a strong man illuminated by the moon rather than the sun. His symbol is the full moon. His colour is red

AGAU
Agau is a very violent and ferocious loa. He is the cause of the frightening sounds of storms and Earth tremors. When he mounts a practitioner it is so violent that deaths have sometimes been the result for those not strong enough to withstand his brutality. The practitioner will mimic the sounds of thunder and tremors. All participants should also make these sounds. Only the strong will be able to utter sounds, others will be silent for they are weak. The possessed practitioner may keep repeating "It is I who am the gunner of god; when I roar the earth trembles.” When Agau is angry the Earth tremors and cities may fall. Those strong enough to keep him in their body are in great agony and may sputter like a seal. Only the strong should take on Agau. He takes the form of a blue skinned troll with greyish blue hair. He carries with him a pick, a hoe and a spade. He is the power behind all sorcery that ends in the death of another. He controls everything in the afterlife. He reminds us that our understanding of death is limited and beyond our comprehension. Saturday is Papa Ghede’s day and his color is black. Rituals of Satanic Voodoo All ritual begin with an opening and closing prayer. The prayer should first be toward Legba along with an offering. Make sure you tell him during this prayer your intentions are to speak to a specific loa. Thank him. Next pray and offer to Kalfu. During the offering you will sacrifice a red animal to Kalfu. Tell him your intentions in your sorcery and who you wish to speak to. Then thank him. At the end of each ritual before you thank Legba and Kalfu thank the loa you have called. At the end of the ritual thank first Legba and then Kalfu. I have not included the Veve (symbols) used but there are plenty of places you can find them. If you trully cannot find them then simply use your instincts in making one using the description of the loa to form it. For example a cross can be used in all Ghede veve’s or a machete in all petwo. When drawing the veve use flour or cornmeal. Sometimes there are possessions, other times there are not. Just because there isn’t an obvious possession doesn’t mean the ritual didn’t work. Pay attention to all aspects of the ritual including dreams and visions during meditation after for signs that it worked. Each ritual set up is the same. There is the opening prayer, dancing, offering and sacrifice alongside prayer and chanting, then a closing prayer. What follows are the prayers and chants to be said during each specific ritual. Sometimes notations on other methods are noted as well.
Delivering a Slave to Papa Ghede Sometimes death is just not enough. You want your enemy whom has caused you great strife to suffer in the afterlife. This is done through slavery to Papa Ghede. The offerings will include rum with hot petters in it. Prepare a spicy food dish. Place it at your Ghede altar and on the ground draw the veve for Papa Ghede. “Papa Ghede I call you from the cemeteries. Come to us beyond the valley of death and grant us the honor of your presence.” The bokor will band two coffin nails together six times while chanting “Ghede”. “Papa Ghede, owner of many dead spirit slaves, we call you here today to give you another to add to your slaves. His name is ________ and here is an article of his belongings.” Place the article belonging to your enemy into the veve.
16
“Here is his picture.” Place the picture in the veve. “We give you ______ to serve you for eternity. May the great Baron Samedi bring him death early so you can use your slave soon. Now accept this sacrifice.” Sacrifice a black animal. All participants chant “Ghede” as the bokor bangs the coffin nails together. The banda dancing intensifies as the ritual now really comes to life. “Papa Ghede, we call you here.”
Damballah Gnosis Ritual “Great primordial serpent, we honor you Damballah. We offer you this sacrifice.” Sacrifice a white animal. “Great Damballah, ancient loa of knowledge, we seek you here at our ceremony. We seek out the knowledge which has been denied to us, which has been hidden from us. We ask you, great Damballah, to not only present us with this knowledge but help us to understand it.” The participants chant “Dam-Ba-llah” The dancing and drums intensify as chanting speeds up until it is a shout. “Great Damballah, give us the knowledge. Primordial serpent of the origin grant us, followers of this faith we call voodoo, the gift we search for. Make it clear and understandable.” All participants will now drop to the floor on all fours and chant “Dam-ba-llah”. Then they will jump up and continue dancing. End of Ritual
The Cannibal Ritual of Congo Savanne The houngan enters the ritual space followed by a bokor. The sorcerer holds a candle and this is the only light in the room. The houngan is walking away from the light and toward the
17
darkness. The bokor holds in his hands a human skull, or another human bone. They approach the center of the ceremony where a living person is tied to a table. “Great and powerful Congo Savanne, we call you here as we offer this human sacrifice. Join us in this act of cannibalism as we devour the flesh of our fellow man.” The dancing begins slow but quickly increases with the drums. The bokor reveals an obsidian knife and holds it over the body. “In the name of Congo Savanne, I sacrifice this man to you.” Now the bokor slices the sacrifices throat. As he dies the participants chant “Sa-van-ne”. The bokor places his lips upon the wound and drinks the blood from the neck. With a machete a participant hacks off the arms and legs of the sacrifice. A veve is carved into the chest for Congo Savanne. “Now we feast.” All participants gather around the table to indulge in the flesh and meat of the sacrifice. When they are done the bloody participants continue to dance to the drum beat until the houngan declares the ritual is complete. WARNING: If Congo Savanne possesses a member of the ceremony be careful for he is know to swing a machete and may even try to harm the participants. He is a very violent loa. End of Ritual
18
A Human Sacrifice to Kalfu In a circle are red candles. In the center of the circle is the victim. He is to be restrained to a table. The participants are dancing to a slower rhythm drumming while chanting “Kal-fu” emphasizing the last part. The bokor enters the circle as the participants dance in a circle formation clockwise around the sacrifice. “Great and powerful Kalfu, bringer of chaos and destruction, we call you here as we honor you with blood. Father of dark sorcery, it is you where all sorceries must travel through so it is to you we honor.” The chanting and drumming increases. The bokor must yell over the participants. “Kalfu of the dark crossroads we now spill blood in your honor. Accept our sacrifice.” With the obsidian blade remove the victim’s eyes. “I remove his eyes so you can access his soul.” Now cut open his chest, use a hammer or pliers to break through the ribs and reach in, pulling out the heart. “And I remove the heart and give it to you.” The chanting and dancing are turning feverish with shouts. The bokor now bites into the heart. End of Ritual
Communicate with the Dead “Great and powerful Baron of the dead, ruler of the Ghede and king of cemeteries, I call you forth. I present these offerings and sacrifice in your honor. Accept my offerings, great Baron Samedi.” Now sacrifice a black animal by slicing its throat with an obsidian blade. Spill the blood into the bowl. All participants will drink from the bowl a nd begin dancing.
19
“Great Baron Samedi, we ask to speak with the dead to discover the secrets of the universe, to reveal that past, present and future. Great Baron Samedi, I walk the cemeteries in search for knowledge.” If you are in a cemetery now you will light the candles on a cross shaped gravestone. All participants will chant Samedi’s name. The drums are now fast and the banda dancing speeds up as well. The dance should be vulgar and very sexual in nature. After the ritual reaches its climax repeat. “Great Baron Samedi, ruler of the dead, I thank you for your assistance and may you go in peace.” If a vision or possession isn’t immediate all participants must study their dreams for the next week for signs of divination.
Death Spell of Dinclinsin Herbs used in spell: Asafoetida, Balmony, Chicory, Cinquefoil.
Place a black skull candle on the floor. If you do not have a black skull candle use a real or fake skull with a black candle on it. Around it sprinkle chicory in a large circle. “As I lay down this herb I curse you______” light the skull candle and in another circle sprinkle asafoetida. “As I lay down this herb I curse you _____” Now take a wax figure of your enemy and rub ciquefoil and dume oil upon it. “As I prepare this wax figure I curse you _____” Place the wax figure at the base of the skull. Now take balmony and a piece of paper with the name of your enemy. Wrap paper with balmony. “As I wrap this name I curse you _____” Place this at the base of the skull. “Legba and Kalfu, I call upon you to speak with Dinclinsin of the Petro loa. I call to you O feared and great Dinclinsin. I have an enemy whom has caused me great pain in my life. May you bring horrific death to ______. Now sacrifice a red rooster or another red animal. Spill blood inside the herb circle around the skull candle. “As I lay down the blood I curse you _____” Now burn the balmony and paper in the candle. “Thank you Diniclinsin, may you go in peace. Thank you Kalfu, may you go in peace. Thank you Legba, may you go in peace.” End of ritual.
Creating your Own Rituals The prayers should be direct and to the point. You may colorize it to increase the energy in the room but not so much that you lose focus. Take the loa described above with their attributes and form your own prayers and rituals. Don’t forget that every ritual has the opening and closing prayers and a veve is usually used in the ritual.
Always follow the colors, offerings and sacrifices described for the loa. For example, don't sacrifice a white rabbit for a Ghede spirit. This is insulting. In typical dark sorcery most things can be changed to suit the need of the practitioner, but in voodoo one should deviate little from tradition for the loa are very specific.
