ENGINE OIL API CERTIFICATION MARK For maximum engine protection during all driving conditions, install an engine oil that contains the API Certific Certif icatio ation n Mark (Fig Fig.. 2) 2).. (4) Attach safety chains around the frame rails. (5) Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position to unlock the steering wheel. Checking engine oil level on a cold engine is not accurate.
