Get a firm grasp on the “fingers-to-sound” “fingers-to-sound” relationship that is so important in jazz soloing with this intermediate jazz guitar video course. Apply diagonal fingerings for familiar scales Learn proper bebop scale fingerings Build the chromatic scale from the ground up Apply bebop passing tones to common modes
Unleash the Power of Diagonal Fingerings And it is very easy to do so in this course: just practice the exercises! exercises! All you have to do is work through them at your own pace. This is not a course to show you what scales go over what chords. In fact, this is not even a course in improvisation. It is a tutorial about jazz guitar phrasing. And better phrasing means better soloing, in general. You are going to find better ways to express yourself within scales and arpeggios you already know and love. Plus you'll discover new means of building beautiful, chromatic, bebop lines on the guitar fretboard. These are the very set of exercises that personally “uncorked” “uncorked” my own jazz guitar phrasing phrasing and ideas. More freedom freedom over the fretboard, more more chromaticism, chromaticism, better control of timing, nuances and etc. You will see that the way you approach the instrument will *feel* different from having worked on all these diagonal exercises.
Content Overview
As a starting point, we cover basic major and melodic minor scales in diagonal fingerings. This smooth introduction gives the students the confidence to work through the rest of the exercises. Then several more interesting, intricate and difficult exercises are presented in diagonal fingerings: bebop scales, three-octave scales, diatonic arpeggios, 6-note per string chromatics, familiar modes with bebop passing tones and more! Exercises are presented in only one or two keys throughout this course. Obviously, if you want to explore jazz guitar (and music in general) in a serious manner, you should transpose these ideas to other keys. You will discover lots of beautiful things! :-)
