Devised by Sadhguru, a realized master, yogi and a profound mystic, this program offers classical Hata Yoga in its full depth and dimension. What is Yoga?
“I think it is better I tell you what is not yoga. So much misinterpretation of the word has happened that speaking about what is not yoga is more relevant. Standing on your head, holding your breath or twisting your body is not yoga. Yes, these are various yogic practices, but when we say “yoga” we are referring to a certain state—a certain way of being. The word “yoga” means union. Union means you begin to experience the universality of who you are. For example, today, modern science proves to you beyond any doubt that the whole Existence is just one energy manifesting itself in various forms. If this scientific fact becomes a living reality for you and you begin to experience everything as one, then you are in yoga. Once you experience yourself as everything, or everything as yourself, after that nobody has to tell you how to be in this world. If you experience all the people here as yourself, does anybody have to teach you morals as to how to be? Does anybody have to tell you “don’t harm this person, don’t kill this person and don’t rob this person?” So when you are in yoga, you experience everything as a part of yourself, and that is mukti; that is ultimate freedom. Yoga is a science. Yoga has nothing to do with any particular religion. As there are physical sciences to create external wellbeing, yoga is the science for inner wellbeing. This yogic science is of utmost importance now, like never before, because today we

have tremendous power in our hands. With modern science and technology, tomorrow if we want, we can flatten a mountain or city. When we have this much power in our hands, it is very, very important, that we have an inner sense, an awareness of life and that we experience life and everyone as part of ourselves. Otherwise, we can create a calamity for ourselves and the world around us—which right now we are doing to some extent. This has happened only because we have attended only to the external science. We have never looked at the inner science within us. Just as there is an external science to create external wellbeing, there is an inner science to create inner wellbeing. Yoga can be transmitted on many different levels. One is towards one’s physical and mental wellbeing which includes health and other aspects. Or it could be transmitted as a tool for ultimate wellbeing; in the sense, you can use this system as a stepping stone to go beyond. If you want, you can use this yoga just to get rid of your backache or you can use this yoga to get better mental focus and a little peace of mind and happiness in your life, or you can use this yoga as a way of climbing up to the highest possibility within yourself. Using yoga just for health is not wrong, but it is a crime, because it can be a ladder to the divine. It is a way of approaching the Creator through the Creation. It can take you to places where you have never imagined. The Sacred Science of Yoga
"The word ‘yoga’ literally means ‘union.’ When you experience everything as one in your consciousness, then you are in yoga." ‐ Sadhguru Initially, yoga was imparted by the Adiyogi (the first yogi), Shiva, over 15,000 years ago. It was Adiyogi who introduced to humanity the idea that one can evolve beyond his present level of existence. He poured this knowing into the legendary Sapta Rishis, or “seven sages,” who carried this powerful yogic science to various parts of the world, including Asia, ancient Persia, northern Africa, and South America. For generations, countless masters, holding it above their own lives, have passed on this sacred thread of knowledge without a single distortion. The Lineage
According to yogic lore, Adiyogi, Shiva himself, is said to have spent time upon the Velliangiri Mountains, gracing this region with his presence many thousands of years ago. Adiyogi left behind a powerful energy palpably cascading from these mountains even today, earning this region the historic reference “The Kailash of the South.” Generations of oral history in South India detail the lives of countless legendary yogis and exuberant mystics who were drawn to the vibrant energies of these mountains. Working towards the ultimate goal of self‐realization, they transcended the limitations of body and mind, and created tools for liberation. The Dhyanalinga measures 13 feet 9 inches in height and is the largest live linga in the world. Theerthakunds
The Suryakund and Chandrakund, located within the temple complex, with their powerfully consecrated rasalingas, are preparatory tools that enable an individual to better receive the Grace of the Dhyanalinga. A dip in these vibrant waters greatly enhances spiritual receptivity, straightens out energy imbalances, and has an uplifting effect on one's physical and mental wellbeing. Embedded 30 feet below the ground, and approached by a descent of thirty‐two massive steps, the Chandrakund is framed by gigantic granite stones and vaulted by a colorful mural depicting the Mahakumbha Mela. Measuring 55 x 15 ft., this exquisite artwork follows the traditional Kerala style of painting using natural colors and vegetable dyes.

Adiyogi Alayam – An Abode of Yoga “The reason why we created the Adiyogi Alayam is to bring back classical yoga in its purest form. Without a phenomenal sense of energy, no yoga can be taught. If you teach yoga without creating a vessel of energy, that is not yoga. The Adiyogi Alayam is essentially structured for the science of yoga, where if you simply sit there, really tuned in to what is happening in the hall, you would be able to know all the yoga sutras. If you start observing the nature of your body, this space will take you on faster and further than you imagined possible by yourself. Any kind of meditative processes which involves a certain exploration will happen phenomenally well. If you take one step and explore, the space will take you one step further. What is Hata Yoga? “Essentially, once we use the word “yoga” attached to anything, it indicates in the tradition that it is a complete path by itself. “Hata” has the word “yoga” attached to it because Hata Yoga is a complete path by itself. If it is a complete path by itself, how it should be approached is the question. If it was just a simple practice, you can approach it one way. If it was an exercise you could have approached it another way. If it was an art form it could be approached another way. Or if it is just entertainment, it could be approached another way. I am using all these examples because all these things have been said about yoga, and they are still in usage in today’s world. People say “recreational yoga,” “health yoga”— people are referring to it as an art form. They think they are doing a service to yoga by saying it is an art form. No. The moment you attach the word “yoga,” it indicates it is a complete path by itself. In most Indian languages, in common usage, the word “hata” means being adamant. This is the quality that you will need. Your body says, “Enough, I had it.” But you are adamant. This is Hata Yoga. Your mind says, “I give up, I can’t do this anymore.” But you are adamant, you simply do it. We want to take the physical form beyond its present levels of limitations. In a way, Hata Yoga means you want to make your comfort zone universal. Right now, for most people, their comfort zone is a very small band. If you make your comfort zone universal, wherever you are, however you are, you are at ease. If I make you stand on your head, you are still at ease. Hell will not work for you; you are adamant enough to frustrate the devil. So Hata Yoga is about creating a body which is not a hurdle in one’s life. The body becomes a stepping stone—not a hurdle, not a roadblock—in one’s progress of blossoming into his ultimate possibility.” ‐ Sadhguru

Angamardana is a series of 31 dynamic processes to invigorate the body and reach peak physical fitness. The word “Angamardana” means gaining complete mastery over the limbs, organs and other parts of the body. Surya Kriya Surya Kriya is a potent 21‐step yogic practice of tremendous antiquity, traditionally available to a select few. “Surya” means “Sun,” and “kriya” means “inner energy process.” Designed as a holistic process for health, wellness and inner wellbeing, Surya Kriya is a complete spiritual process by itself.
Yogasana
Yogasanas are offered as a set of 36 powerful postures to transform the body and mind into a possibility for ultimate wellbeing. They are a way of aligning the inner system to the celestial geometry, becoming in sync with the existence, thus naturally achieving a state of health, joy, and bliss.
Bhuta Shuddhi
Bhuta Shuddhi is the most fundamental practice in the yogic system. “Bhuta” refers to the five elements, “shuddhi” means “to cleanse.” This purificatory process helps one to achieve a state of harmony and balance which establishes the body for higher levels of sadhana.

II. Anatomy and Physiology Training Overview Students will learn the subjects and application of its principles to the practice of yoga. III. Sacred Places Students will have the unique opportunity to visit places in South India which are of significance to the yogic tradition and also take pilgrimages to some of South India’s most powerful sites in the Velliangiri Mountains, while performing sadhanas devised by Sadhguru to evolve one’s inner experience, appreciation, and understanding of the science of yoga. VI. Yogic Principles and Lifestyle Students will learn the principles of a yogic lifestyle which will be reflected in their daily schedule and life at the Yoga Center. VII. Pancha Bhuta Aradhana A powerful process of Bhuta Shuddhi, purification of the five elements, will be offered to participants at the Dhyanalinga Temple on a specific day of the month known as Shivaratri. It is an effort to bring down that dimension of grace of the Dhyanalinga upon the seeker. The Pancha Bhuta Aradhana stabilizes body and mind and is particularly beneficial for those suffering from physical ailments, a weak constitution, psychological instabilities, disturbed sleep and a constant sense of fear. Planning Classes and Modules • Training into 48+ different modules: 1‐day, 3‐day, 1‐week, 2‐week, 1‐month, and ongoing yoga sessions. • Training to prescribe different modules based on participant needs and various class settings one may encounter. • These formats offer flexibility to teach ongoing Hata Yoga sessions (such as in‐studio settings), individual yoga tutoring, and time‐limited yoga workshops. • Individuals must be at least 18 years of age. There is no upper age limit. • Individuals must be in good physical and mental health, as the course will be intensive. • Understanding of basic English language is required as it is the medium of instruction. Note: Prior experience or knowledge of yoga is not required.

The course requires personal discipline, involvement, dedication and commitment to the process offered. 100% attendance in all classes is mandatory. Students are expected to follow the program schedule strictly.Students must stay in the Center’s premises for the duration of the program. Alcohol, tobacco or other drugs are prohibited in the Center’s premises during the stay. The course does not encourage personal relationships amongst students. Students must have their own health insurance for the duration of their stay at the Center.
Program Facilities Accommodation • Accommodations are provided within the premises. Rooms are equipped with attached restrooms. Two students will share a room. Single and A/C accommodations are also available at an additional cost. Wholesome and pranic vegetarian meals will be served twice daily. Seasonal, locally available fruits and vegetables will be provided. To support the training process, participants are asked to avoid consuming coffee and tea. Herbal tea will be available.
Medical Facilities • The Center’s Medical Clinic will provide basic first‐aid and primary medical assistance. Secondary and tertiary care medical facilities are available in the city of Coimbatore, an hour’s drive from the Center. The cost for any medical care will be the responsibility of the trainee.
Teacher Certification After careful assessment of performance, those students that meet the requirements for successful completion, will receive certification from Isha to teach Isha Hata Yoga as an independent teacher. For certified teachers, post‐training support will be provided by Isha on various levels. A continuing training process may be required for teachers to maintain their certification on an ongoing basis.
Application Information Program Fee $10,000 USD • This fee covers all aspects of the program including materials, accommodations, trips, meals and one Pancha Bhuta Aradhana at the Isha Yoga Center for the duration of the program. • If students wish to attend Isha Yoga Programs, additional processes at the Temples, or therapies at the Rejuvenation Center, they would have to bear the expenses.

Advanced Programs
Bhava Spandana (BSP) is a 4‐day advanced residential program for those who have been initiated into Shambhavi Mahamudra. Designed by Sadhguru, it provides the possibility to break through limitations of body and mind and experience higher levels of consciousness and a world of unbounded love and joy. The word bhava literally means sensation. Spandana means resonance. Through intense processes and meditations, Bhava Spandana is an opportunity to transcend individuality and resonate with the existence. Shoonya Intensive is a complete path to inner wellbeing.
